MGS 5 confirmed

I wouldn't mind a Metal Gear 1 and 2 remake (the original 8 bit games)

I understand their stories have been told but they are incredibly outdated, difficult to play and the tone of the story doesn't mesh that well with the Solid series, even with the fact that they are directly related. They are important to the Metal Gear universe in many ways.

If not then I would rather a whole new protagonist. In a future after MGS4. The story of Big Boss probably should have ended with 3, it was all that was needed so sum up the downfall of his character. Solid Snake is an old grampa now, probably dead in a few months, the Snake stories need to die. Bring in a new character, in a new world that has changed so much since 4, create a new trilogy, that is what I'm looking for.

Why? There's basically nothing to add, and MGS4 wasn't Kojima's greatest work. Far from it, imo. I think he should do something new or just make a new IP that's similar to MGS (gameplay-wise).

Also in 2008, (now former) Kojima Productions assistant producer Ryan Payton said MGS5 could take the form of a prequel. "I'm happy we could wrap up Snake's story in MGS4," Payton stated, "because it gets to the point where if we continue on with Metal Gear Solid 5 with more Solid Snake adventures, we'll get to the point where the game has absolutely no basis in reality. I do like the idea that this character has had four or five big missions and then that's when it ended, rather than have 20 missions where there's no chance in hell a secret agent could ever survive. He's had four or five really big missions, and that seems a little more realistic to me."

but the story fits after all, they were clones and they never did mention why he was called big boss or why the best soldier of that generation just said "screw this i go rogue", but in this case i don't know how they would fit snake in a new metal gear. Maybe the remake of the original metal gears, that would be awesome imho.

If you don't want to play MGS5 because, "MGS4 was not a good game said by me," then don't freakin play it. While the rest of us who don't look at games for fashion and just for fun and story will buy it day one. Hideo can do whatever the hell he wants in my book. His games more than give him that right.

I don't care about the story. All I want is gameplay that lives up to the trailers of both snake eater and MGS4. both games were smaller and less ambitious then the early presentations.

I wouldn't mind a reboot. Bring back Snake and Otacon (make him less of a whiny girl though) but start the plot from scratch and focus more on gameplay.

Why even bother after MGS4? I mean, how much more can you ruin the series, Kojima?

if mgs5 is confirmed im wondering if it will be his next game that could make him leave the game industry(though i doubt it). he said back 2010. im interesting what it could be

MGS5 should be a prequel to 3 and based on the boss to be honest that would be immense.

Actually, the game is pretty bad for an MGS game. Killed off a good bit of the fanbase.

When you take a unique stealth/action game and turn it into a shoddy tps with stealth pasted in, replace the well thought out level designs with simplistic environments, present a story that retcons important parts of the series while ruining characters and has holes in and of itself, put out one of the most horribly paced and poorly edited stories that gaming has seen in years all while failing to deliver on nearly everything you promised to put in a game from the get go... you lose some fans.

That said, I am still interested to see what MGS5 is all about. MGS2 and MGS3 are two of my all time favorite games and sucked away so many hours of my life. If you closely followed MGS4s development you probably know Ryan Payton was directly responsible for a lot of what went wrong with the game. Since hes out of the picture I think MGS5 has a chance to be something great.

I hate how everyone is asking for either a prequel or a sequel with big boss. I want the game to go in a bold new direction. Something completely new, only loosely tied to the older games. The thought that we could have an all new cast of characters that are just as compelling as Raiden, Solid, Liquid and Naked Snake is exciting. Maybe the main character could be a woman. Sunny maybe ? Who knows? I just want the franchise to evolve.Androvinus
