Sony has been the one playing catch-up this gen. They have been catching up as far as its game library is concerned, they have been catching up in the online arena, they are trying to catch up in the sales department, etc.

First of all, the PS3 hasn't done better in any measurable way. Attempting cheap spin tactics will not change that.

And I'm not even touching the quality titles thing. That's totally subjective.

The"graphical superiority" thing is negligible and subjective as well.

That leaves the 3 factors I brought up: how "fleshed out" a game library is, sales and online conponent. Attribute whatever reasons to it that you want, but the fact is that Sony has been playing catch-up in these three major areas.Taking this into account, for you to accuse Microsoft of catching up is abusrd.

I agree with you on many of your points. Microsoft by far is not a pioner of anything.If thats the case atari should be winning the console war's (actually the first console ever made, but I don't know that far back so for the sake of the argument I will say atari). Yes, Microsoft did cheat and weasel it's way into the the next gen console by releasing it first instead of going head to head. However sony was stupid for not having there console ready and still had the nerve to delay it. As a result look at what happen Microsoft was the only console offereing next gen graphix so many people went for the pretty graphix, and A better looking xbox. Now innovations Microsoft does get credit for are the HDD, and xboxlive. So now to your complaint or question Microsoft is not CHEAP or rats their doing exactly what the japanese market does. If you don't understand the last comment I said well you should be reading history books instead of playing games. To help you out I will give you a clue/example American's made the first car and sold it everywhere, japan bought the car, years later japan comes back to the U.S. and sales thesame idea of the car but way better upgraded and more efficient etc. do you understandnow.

You forgot to mentioned that Microsoft lied about how bad RROD was, too. They even deleted messages on the Xbox 360 public forums to cover up RROD. Overall Microsoft do use bad/evil tactics for their Xbox 360 business. They sell an unreliable console, then after 3 years they charge $100 to fix. They sell an arcade version with hard-drives, then have games made that require installatio (Forza 3). Then they charge an arm and a leg for hard drives. They charge you just to play on-line. Why can't they give gamers the option to pay for the extra that LIVE brings to the table. I bet most ppl wont pay for those extras. PSN is more than good enough for most people.LittleTitu

Another thing... PSOne was released before N64. N64 is released, and PSOne steals/adds something to their controller (analogue stick). N64 adds rumble. PSOne steals/adds rumble to their controller. Sony lies back and takes ideas just as much as Microsoft.

Yes, because a company improving their hardware is always a bad thing. Shame on MS for trying to offer additional connectivity and features for their customers!

Are you seriously bashing MS for coming up with a camera that senses 3D motion in order to attempt to improve the accessibilty of the platform? And I guess Sony's motion controller idea is totally innovative and original right? As far as offering installation of games, this is a practice that the PC has done for years before the PS3 even released and you accuse MS of copying Sony in that regard? Not to mention that the installation feature is purely optional as opposed to mandatory in many PS3 games?

The 360 is playing catch up? Surely you jest. Look at all the Xbox Live features that Sony has been quick to adopt for the PSN, such as the video store, the in game XMB, custom soundtracks, trophies, etc. but of course, Sony couldn't also be playing catch up in that regard.

What was the PS2's main issue, was it a little piece of plastic over the laser that kept melting? I cannot remember. Sony should have done a lengthy QA test on the PS2, they would have seen it. Its not like they rushed it, they just didnt test it enough for some reason.

But it's not completely sbjective. Some products undeniably have higher failure rates than others.

One more thing about Microsoft's Arcade SKU. They brag how games can now own the cheapest console. Then they charge you just to play on line. After four years, you actually end up paying more than the PS3! That's not counting payment for repairs because by then the 3 yr warranty is over. It sickens me how many people conintue to defend Microsoft in this forum. I have little doubts they Microsoft have their people in this forum. LittleTitu
