Well that's a bummer, I want a whole new experience with Zelda. Wii Motion Plus should make it radically different.

What do you guys think?

Hahah, no, saying it won't be radically different doesnt mean it won't be improved or changed. It's still going to have dungeons, enemies, item collection, hearts, swords, bow and arrows, and probably gannon. Hence, it won't be radically different, but it will not be the same, WATCH!

Majora's Mask wasn't radically different than OoT but it was still a new experience.

There is a difference between different, and radically different. I don't want Zelda to be radically different, but I want it to be different. Sorta like how Windwaker was in relation to other Zeldas. Different.

Why? What would be wrong with a first person Zelda game?

Because it would not be a Zelda game

I think that is kinda the point.

PS Why is this thread in SW?? Wii Fourms -------------->

They could at least add another Character and let you chose to be Evil or Neutral.

Not everyone wants to be a Peter Pan look a like with a fairy.

Shielder7

That would be lame... Evil Neutral? Links clothes define him. How many other Characters do you see pull a look offf like that?!

Peter Pan he was before Link and even had the fairy down pat.

Some type of Morality choices would be intresting instead of the "liner adventures of goody too shoes" or at least create a diffrent character and let us play Evil or somthing where we get to kick Link in the Nuts. Havn't been able to do that since SC II

You do know Zelda is famous for being NON-LINEAR. When did i say Peter Pan was first...All i said was Links cloths define him. You never see anyone else wearing some thing similar.

Well if it strayed too far from the formula, it probably would've been Banjo all over again. Let's wait and see what they do.

this, people only want zelda to chance so they can **** about how diffrent it is :P

See that ladies and gentelmen is the exact problem the entire industry has. The "if it ain't broke don't fix it" or the "change is bad" motto is what is holding the industry back from trying new things and gives clear indication for companies to make the same game over and over again. (See Mario and Zelda)

Imagine in a first person Zelda game you're playing as Link and its the final boss battle fight Ganon (again) but instead of tapping the A button you become tangled up in such an epic sword fight it would make a hollywood coreographer jealous. If Nintendo announced a first person Zelda game with Wii Motion + I think I would be VERY tempted to buy a Wii just for that game. It would be so epic, it would be the perfect redesign of a classic tired series to make it feel fresh, new, and exciting again.

People complain about everything, so hardcore fans can never be please.

If Zelda Wii was radically different:

"this is stoopid, i want a game like oot"

IfZelda Wii was the same

"this is stoopid, i want a game that is different from oot"

Fanbases are never grateful

magiciandude

You can never satisfy the fans.

Though it might be interesting if they could do a big revamp of the franchise like Resident Evil, as someone mentioned. But how would you do that?

zelda would suck as elderscrolls oblivion, just as oblivion sucked as oblivion. as for the "problem" holding back mario and zelda, each mario and zelda has been redone keeping only the core elements. mario will always be a platformer, and zelda will always be an adventure game where you are link. that is about all they have in common. hell aside from SMG2 and gameboy zeldas to SNES zeldas they get reworked just about every time. i hate how people try to say both mario and zelda games are rehashes when they are far more original then just about any franchise or sequals out there

So Zelda wouldn't be Zelda in First Person but Zelda is Zelda despite the fact that isn't a top down view of the world like the origonal? I'm not saying Zelda would become Elder Scrolls, it could and probably would be the same Zelda people love but from the first person....

And if there is no change and evolution, there will only be stagnation. Ala Twilight Princess. You don't have to start from scratch to make beneficial changes. Zelda's been around for over two decades now... it would be best if they keep the series moving forward and fresh instead of just doing formulaic remakes of what they've already done... but then again, that has become Nintendo's new styIe now.

IF Nuts & Bolts wasn't a Banjo-Kazooie game, I (and many others) MIGHT'VE enjoyed it more.

P.S."Stop crying and be glad that they even made a new Banjo game"? When they pretty much made Kazooie USELESS (among other things...), I'm not glad that THIS "Banjo Game" IS THE Banjo game that we waited 8 YEARS for. Heck, the fact that Kazooie is USELESS ensures that not ALL of the Banjo Magic is there.

There Green Tunics and Caps are too different to be the same...just because they are the same color doesn't mean anything. Link wears boots stalkings has blond hair, blue eyes, The Fairys again look too different to be the same, He has a sword and sheild, Link has an undershirt, His cloths are more battle ready, Link looks cool...Too many Differences, and Similarites just aren't similar enough.

So because the game didn't meet up to your expectations for the game, its a bad game? Wow...

Nuts & Bolts is an amazing game, a high quality sequel to the originals that takes two different genres and combines them seamlessly. I don't understand why people who call themselves "fans" of the originals and Rare can bash the game. Its exactly the kind of thing I like about modern gaming, hybrid genres that try something new instead of recycling what has already been done merely as fan service.

So you just want another copy-paste Zelda game made merely of fan service? And if it was new and drastically different, you would be disappointed even if it was an amazing game? I don't get you people. You complain when there isn't enough "new" stuff and when there is too much change, again you complain.

Well I (and many others) would've had MUCH more fun with Banjo-Threeie (Platformer) than Nuts & Bolts (it would've been a New IP).

Zelda will never be an FPS. Zelda will never have no Adventure. Miyamoto will never ruin the Zelda series...It would be like any other zelda. Just First Person and it uses first person advantages.

I don't get you people. You complain when there isn't enough "new" stuff and when there is too much change, again you complain.

What is with you with this "Fan Service" bit? Is any game that follows the original gameplay of the original game "Fan Service"?

To answer your question: Yes, I want another "Copy-Paste" (hate that term) Zelda made merely of "Fan Service".

Here's a question for you: Do you HONESTLY have a problem with the Fact that quite a few people are disapointed with one of your favorite games?

[QUOTE="surrealnumber5"]if it were a new ip i would be fine with it and even give it a sporting chance, that would be if it were a new IP. i loved the 64 games and then this.... i would treat nintendo the same way if they turned metroid into a sims game.

They're not Fans because they're disapointed with Nuts & Bolts? I think that Nuts & Boltsis a decent game, but (IMO) it was a HUGE disapointment (I consider myself a Fan of the originals). What does that make me?

because its no longer a true platformer i wont play it, it is that simple. i have never called the game bad, but i have called it such things as an abomination, the bastard son of what was great, and other such insults that imply it to be a twisted and malformed game that only shares the name of its older brothers. we dont get great 3d platformers any more aside from SMG. these days all 3d platformers are either shovel ware or gun centric. forgive me foxhound for wanting a great 3d platformer much like those they use to make in the good old days. i should not be able to want a game that falls in a single genre, that is well made and has refined wit as well as great solid and creative level design. how dare i not want the next battlefield game to have racing minnigames in it, or street fighter to platforming and custom guns added to it, i could go on like this all day. how about the next MGS having turn based battle system with limit breaks like final fantasy game. some things should not be mixed or played with, this goes double if the games genre is completely untapped on that console

Fan service is when a lot of a game is made exactly like one of its predecessors with little to no changes and is often done merely to please fans. A lot of what was in TP was fan service. There was some new stuff and it was a fun game, but it was very derivative of Ocarina.

I have a problem with people who bash a game merely because its not what they expected, and not just enjoying it for what its worth.

Let me guese, Banjo-Tooie is Fan Service?

The fact that Kazooie is now USELESS ALONE makes me VERY disapointed.

Tooie added a ton of new stuff to the series, my favourite was the Perfect Dark-esque Jinjo shooter multiplayer. I spent mostly all of my time with the game playing that with friends.

I think you can take this multiple ways. For example, Miyamoto may mean that the next Zelda may have a similiar tone in story, or the gameplay may be the same... You know, I'm taking this in a positive light, because in terms of actual gameplay, Wind Waker wasn't the most radically different Zelda out there, yet I loved it.

THAT we can atleast agree with. Banjo-Tooie is AWESOME!

But I'm surprised that you didn't respond to the Kazooie bit.

P.S. In your opinion, would a Banjo-Threeie (Platformer) be "Fan Service"?

[QUOTE="gmc2u_64"]I'm GLAD that this is Nintendo's newstyIe If Nintendo made the next Zelda game into a FPS (with no Adventuring), I would be VERY disapointed (like I was with Nuts & Bolts).

OK if it was truly an amazing game, I wouldn't mind. However, with your banjo nuts & bolts arguments, I simply can not agree. I thought the gameplay was mediocre even if it was a fresh departure from the serie's gameplay. A game does not have to evolve or totally change to make it fresh, sure some new gameplay mechanics are nice every once and awhile. Sometimes "more of the same" isn't bad. Especially if it's a new land to explore, different dungeons, bosses, gameplay mechanics, etc...

Back to the nuts and bolts. Even if it was very similar to it's predecessors, it could have been fresh. I haven't played a platformer I've enjoyed in years, minus Super Mario Galaxy. It would be fresh just because it's a return to that genre, I'm tired of these shooters that are coming out non-stop.

I agree that if Banjo-Kazooie 3 was similar to it's predecessors, it could've been fresh.
