Good, theyd just mess it up. I dont want them messing with a proven formula.

I dunno why sheep are hating on Halo and MGS for being the same old, with boring "lets slash and cut D&D monsters and save the princess from the evil emperor" Zelda and "let's jump on brown mushrooms and humanoid turtles and rescue the princess from the evil dinosaur/turtle thing" Mario sitting in their game libraries You should really remove that "Every non-nintendo game sucks because it's made by sony or microsoft" way of thinking, you're the only one hating here. I'm a huge fan of nintendo, but I play the 360 more nowadays since there aren't a lot of games on the Wii right now (I only turn it on to play Super Metroid and F-Zero GX on VC and GC) I happen to love halo, not the campaign as much but the multiplayer is awesome, and you don't kill aliens in multiplayer *besides killing elites* so atleast those "boring games" have online, when a lot of ninty games don't. I don't have a PS3 or MGS, but I would love to play MGS4, it still looks amazing.I dunno why Sony and Microsoft fans are hating on Zelda for being the same old, with boring ''let's hide behind a wall, soa guard can't see me''Metal Gear Solid and ''let's blast millions ofaliens to death''Halo sitting in their game libaries.

Shadow, Secret Rings, and 06 were the only ones that "sucked". How do 3=5? Besides, Unleashed basically jump started the series and brought it back to greatness. Seriously, the Sonic games are underrated to high hell and people exagerrate about the few bad games.
He already mentioned that they might use the motion plus before if it sells well, which japan shows it has. Also he said to pay attention to how the sword is used in wii sports resort relating to a zelda game. If they're using the motion plus (which they probably will, the new zelda will be a lot different and in a good way.

Right. I remember the Werehog being in the past five Sonic games. They really need to do something new like make the games the same as the Genesis ones.Let's face it, Sonic hasn't been all that hot in the past couple of years. Some might even say a lot of the titles sucked.
It's ironic in the sense that Sonic's formula has been tweaked and tinkered with, with disasterous results. But when it sticks to the same old thing it manages to work....most of the time.
you guys would be complaining either way :|.
If it were drastically different you'd all be crying "BAAWW THEY'RE CASUALIZIN MAH ZELDA BAAWW"
If they stick to the same formula "BAAWW IT'S A REHASH BAWW".

The irony is i don't own a wii,but I wouldn't want to deprive people from the chance ofplaying Zelda,Halo and MGS aresame old sh*t repackaged, even though i love themyet Nintendo seems to get all the flack, it's not right yes their is a alot Nintendo could be doing, likesaylowering game prices, selling the console for less seeing it'soutdated graphicstech, more third party etc. etc. but don't try and sell us they aint innovative just because they have more universal friendly games and less online play.
Online aint the be all and end all you know...oh lawdy how did everyone in the 80's and 90'ssurvive without online gaming...........
I aint trying to hate or anything but as someone who plays xbox live constantly and plays on his friends PS3 psn constantly as well, I would love a new Zelda or to sit and chill on animal farm andwill probablybuy a wii in the future just to chill out and have fun with once in a while without guns and blood all the time.

endless ocean good sir is pure chill, i think you should give it at least a rent when and if ever you get a wiiWithout the context of the quote, the whole thing leads me to believe that he could be responding to wild suggestions made by the interviewer.
Maybe it should be read as: "I don't think the next Zelda game will be that radically different.
Well the only Zelda game that was Radically different was Zelda II: Adventure of Link. But the other ones they always had something that made the game seem fresh like Majora's Mask you were timed with a 3 day time limit. Wind Waker they changed the Graphics which people hated. Twilight Princess was the only thing similar to OoT and they still changed it with adding Mounted Combat and turning into a Wolf.Without the context of the quote, the whole thing leads me to believe that he could be responding to wild suggestions made by the interviewer.

ya, unleashed really jump started the series alright, I mean look at how great it was on the two HD systems >_>I would like to add another terrible Sonic game Sonic and the Black Knight that game is just awful. From Eegra.com:
"Did you hear? Miyamoto said the newZeldagame is going to be much the same as all the otherZeldagames Nintendo has made! Isn't that shocking? I know I'm shocked! skolskopskkpokfdjhofdajpdl[ei – you know what that is? That's me fainting on my keyboard. Fromshock."
...awesome.
I still think that it's awesome that the next Zelda WON'T be an FPS or something.
Sure there are SOME people who would whine about how it's a "Rehash" or how it's going to be "Fan-Service", but atleast it WON'T be as Radically Different as Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts.
Exactly.Zelda fans don't want a radically different zelda. They want a zelda game
FloWeN-UK
Banjo Fans wanted a Banjo game, not a Radically different Banjo game.
What was Rare thinking when they made Nuts & Bolts (not saying it's a Bad Game, but it's a MAJOR disapointment)?
I'm going to break it down so people don't feel as bad. A radical change is like going from Spoiled Brat to street dog. There will be change enough to please everyone! It will most likely have that Zelda Formula but will change enough to make everyone else happy! Why does it need such a big change to please? Do you want Link driving a car, using a pistol as his main weapon. becasue thats what it sounds like a lot of you want!
Agree completely. Like any other big name IP, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. I don't care, more or less another Zelda game will be coming and I just hope it's great like TP was and I hope ST for DS is as awesome as PH was.you guys would be complaining either way :|.

He doesnt look like peter pan.
Um Yeah Yeah he does lets see.
Both have Green Tights
Both have the Same Green Night Cap
Both Walk around with a Fairy
Both Grew up in the woods (Ie Tree House)
Are you truly so blinded by your Fanboy-ism you can not see the similarities?
They do look a lot alike. I never realized peter-pan had pointy ears as well, showing pictures of them next to each other really doesn't help the argument that they don't look the same.Come on, now. You have to be smart enough to realize that there would be complaints either way not because the entire Zelda fan base is a like-minded group of whiny, implacable babies, but because it's made up of millions of individuals with their own takes on what makes Zelda games so great. Aside from that, your statement implies that the new game OUGHT to either be drastically different, or a complete rehash. I don't think anyone wants either scenario. One of the greatest things about the Zelda series has been that each game has easily avoided being a rehash WITHOUT having to do anything drastically different. I commend Nintendo for respecting the fragility of such a brilliant series, and really taking the time to make sure every decision serves to build on and complement what they've created thus far. With Miyamoto's recent statement, I'm confident they'll show the same level of perspicacity with the coming installment that they have with each one prior.you guys would be complaining either way :|.

Yeah afterall there are so many games that are juts like Zelda.. Oh wait there arn't its completely unique franchise... I would tend to agree if maybe it were something like Halo, in which it holds a untold amout of similarity to other games.. Where people expect some chagne or improvement..I do not know about anyone else, but I am disappointed by that news.

I see where everyone is comeing from, but when i look at other things, they don't look similar to me any more.I think the series desperately needs an overhaul. I probably will be passing this next one up; the old "find the boomerang to find the fire arrows to get the iron boots" formula is from what....the NES days??? C'mon people it's long overduefor the series to evolve. The purists need to come to realize that without risk there is no reward and that stagnation ensues. Miyamoto is either too lazy to innovate, too comfortable with its success, or too restrained by Nintendo who wishes to protect its most valuable franchise.
Perhaps I'm growing out of the series, but it's beginning to feel like a chore to play. Bring the magic back, Nintendo. While you're at it, make it so that my five year old has to spend more than three minutes to figure out a puzzle.

I am not saying its unoriginal as a bad thing.. I am saying unlike series like Final Fantasy or Zelda for instance there is very little to compare them to.. While Halo and many other FPS's does nothing to set it apart from other including others like Half-Life 2..I wouldn't mind Zelda set in modern times, but that would be a huge stretch for Nintendo. I'm with you. I think the series needs to spice things up. TP was boring. I hope it's different.
Twilight Princess was a major disappointment, and this is coming from someone who loved Ocarina and WindWaker to death.
This is great news as far as I'm concerned.
I was expecting him to change it to appeal more to Nintendo's newfound "non gamer" demographic.
I think it's awesome that he's staying faithful to the Zelda franchise.
I think the people complaining weren't really Zelda fans to begin with and are just looking for an easy excuse to bash.
Same, TP just sucked for me. I couldn't get through the first 2 hours. So boring and lifeless.I hope it's different.
