[QUOTE="gmc2u_64"]What is with you with this "Fan Service" bit? Is any game that follows the original gameplay of the original game "Fan Service"?
To answer your question: Yes, I want another "Copy-Paste" (hate that term) Zelda made merely of "Fan Service".
Here's a question for you: Do you HONESTLY have a problem with the Fact that quite a few people are disapointed with one of your favorite games?
foxhound_fox
I don't give a flying crap about "fan service" or of it being similar to OoT. Twilight Princess was just an amazing, huge, and breathtaking game and I believe it was the best Zelda game EVER.
What do you mean by 'Advance"?Push it beyond the design ideals that the series has stuck to for over a decade. Twilight Princess for example. Of course I am not saying to create something that is foreign, however I do think things could be changed.[QUOTE="skrat_01"]Hurm. When is Miyamoto going to advance the design a bit?.... Its a bit of a pity, you can only hang onto such close ties for so long, in terms of design...gmc2u_64
I am so sick of the QQ that Zelda doesn't change its formula. It's mostly the whiny Sheep who want TEH INNOVASHUN in all games now that turn on games that aren't completely new. If a game formula ain't broken, it doesn't need fixing. The Zelda games have a timeless formula that will never get old. You don't need to change that. "BUH BUH TP DIDNT ADD ANYTHING NEW" First of all, yeah it did, with horseback combat. And second, WHO THE HELL CARES if a game doesn't do something new?! If the game is fun and extremely entertaining, INNOVASHUN shouldn't matter! princeofshapeirMan, if only Rare knew that the Banjo-Kazooie Formula DIDN'T NEED to be "Fixed" (Replacing Platforming for Vehicles)...
Here's hoping that Rare makes a Banjo-Kazooie 3 (Platformer) next time...
hahaha people really are funny. Does anyone remember when the artwork was released and rumours started circling that you use the girl as the master sword, most people hated it here. Qutes such as "just give me the ol sword and shield" and "if it hasnt got a sword in it then its not a zelda game" What happened there guys?
Anyway does anyone have the actual question he was asked? You left out one important word from the quate and that is THAT, he said it wont be THAT radically different. To me, that hints that he probably said it would be different, the person asking the question probably gave and estimate which led him to say it wont be THAT radically different.
You also have to look at the word radical. its a big word. I mean really big, pretty much turning something upside down. Zelda needs a change yes, but not a radical change which people would hate, just look at the example above with a small change.
The thing about me is the Zelda forumla does not really need to be tempered with much, however Zelda needs to come into the 21st Century. By that i mean things such as FULL VOICE CASE (including Link, no more silent BS), FULLY ORCHESTRATED SOUNDTRACK and A HIGH LEVEL STORY. Those are the kind of things it needs and a few touches in the gameplay area.
Theres 2 things that scare me. The first being if Zelda Wii is an On-Rails game of some sort. I have absoloutely nothing to go on about this but its in my heart, and it scared the crap out of me. The next is if Gannondorf returns as the main villain in classic Zelda style. He can appear in the game in some form but in a traditional sense? please no.
Copy Pasted games with tacked on motion controls are the new "innovation". But, seriously, this is just more reason to sell my Wii.I think hardcore gamers should be happy they finally got what they wanted from Nintendo: more of the same.

a zelda game does not come out every month, it should not be that hard to grasp.......When a FPS stick with the formula it's a "generic boring shooter", but when Zelda sticks with the same recipe people accept it unquestionably...
My head hurts.

Radical is a strong word, just because it's not radically different doesn't mean it won't be different, radical is like making it into an FPS, or putting in blood and gore.bobbetybob
+ the fact that he said it wont be THAT radical implies that it will actually have changes. Funny how one word changes everything.

Why is anyone surprised? from OOT to TP the game stayed almost identical, which is a shame since OOTs controls are absolute crap.

FPSs comes out every month?
Zelda's been playing the same tune for decades. It's just interesting to see Nintendo fans' total acceptance towards ancient gaming series.
Yes because windwaker and OOT were just alikeHarlockJCOr Majora's Mask (which was criticized for "being too different").

You do know Zelda is famous for being NON-LINEAR. When did i say Peter Pan was first...All i said was Links cloths define him. You never see anyone else wearing some thing similar.
AmayaPapaya
DO YOU KNOW WHAT PETER PAN LOOKS LIKE???"?!!!!!
He doesnt look like peter pan.
Um Yeah Yeah he does lets see.
Both have Green Tights
Both have the Same Green Night Cap
Both Walk around with a Fairy
Both Grew up in the woods (Ie Tree House)
Are you truly so blinded by your Fanboy-ism you can not see the similarities?

To be fair all stories of eleves own their roots to Peter Pan. Even JJR Token got the ideas for the eleves of Lord of the Rings from Peter Pan. Also Links original story was not focused around him living in a Tree House and walking around with Fairy. Though Fairies did play a key role in the first games.
You are right about people need not to be blinded to the common similarities between the designs. Everything out now gets it's roots from something. PeterPan is about 150 years old now, to have it worked into a number of stories is not a huge surprise. When many of us watched the movies also has a child.
I didn't want it to be radically different just different where it feels fresh but still making it feel like a Zelda game. Nintendo did it with Mario I am sure they can do it with Zelda.
I wonder in what dungeon you'll get the hook shot in this one!
STRETCH-E
The Water Temple. Its always been the Water Temple.

been playing the same for 20 or more years? the act of playing on the NES changed 2 time, then the snes one also was not the same, from the 64 on one could argue it has played the same, even if it got a new coat of paint every time but for MM(64) even still thats a total of 4 games in 11 years. we are getting three of the same COD games in less then three years.....how is that "Nintendo" of them? Few franchises stray from a formula. Motion+, voice acting, and orchestrated music is all i'm asking for. The Zelda "formula" is fantastic imo.So it went from being a Zelda game people won't recognize, to not much different? How Nintendo of them.

Ok, fine. But i do want my magic system sometime! ;)
Or, ok, the difficulty? I mean, with the new autocontrolled player system?
..
Or more mystery...?
More interaction with people and sidequests that get You sweet things?
...
More transformation?
Good n evil? Flying?
Anything?
....
Otherwise i will come to scratch Your discs...
It sold awfully and wasn't well received, so that probably won't happen.I'm REALLY glad that Rare's Nuts & Bolts (Banjo-Kazooie 3) isn't influencing any Developers...YET.

[QUOTE="gmc2u_64"]It sold awfully and wasn't well received, so that probably won't happen. Great News! I hope that Rare gets the message (We WANT a Banjo-Kazooie 3 Platformer!).I'm REALLY glad that Rare's Nuts & Bolts (Banjo-Kazooie 3) isn't influencing any Developers...YET.
Lethalhazard
Seriously though, it's REALLY great that Nuts & Bolts hasn't influenced a Perfect Dark Platformer (with NO shooting) or something.
And thus continues the age old tradition of Nintendo basically making the same game over and over again :) Seriously guys, shake it up a little bit! BoloTheGreatAfter what Rare did to Banjo-kazooie 3 (Nuts & Bolts), I'm REALLY glad that the next Zelda WON'T be radically different.
