Mocrosoft DESPERATELY needs MORE EXCLUSIVES, because SONY is oozing BRAND NEW IP

i am seeing countless lemmings (especially in this thread) using sales and monetary success as the "be all, end all" factor to vindicate the 360. I see them standing up to cheer for a desaturated exclusive librariy, bloated milked franchises, and shameless casual-ware. i see them praising the company who has profited greatly off of these tactics and who apparently they see as the ideal example of what a current gen console should be.

this invokes various feelings in me. including: disgust, dread, pity, indifference, nausea and a general fear for the future of gaming

Agreed, what's more, I won't buy their next console if things keep going like this. I'm happy for all the Kinect fans, but I'm done with Forza and gears/Halo. There's nothing exept multiplats on the 360. Sony gives their fanbase what they want, ironically, it's not doing them a favor. A bit like those PC exclusives that sell so little that their devellopers go broke.

You may be right about November's sales. We will certainly fine out when the BIG THREE release quarterlies either way. So, if you are into that, have fun that sales day, since it comes four times a year like clockwork.

I'm not sure and I personally don't care about sales, as I've said before, since I'm here to talk games to my fellow gamers. Yes, sales do matter at first, and to the companies, but I feel the same way about my favorite Books, Movies, Music, Games, Graphics Cards, Shoes, Jeans, Toasters, AVRs, Game consoles, Game IPs....you name it. I don't care about sales other than I do hope when a product is new and I like it, it's a sales success so I can continue with that brand/product.

I've said that so many times in five + years in SW, but I always repeat it just in case someone assumes something.

However, I can tell you that my SolidTy Geography sense is telling me that theUK, Japan, and U.S.(NPD which doesn't even track Walmart btw) =/= Entire Globe we call "Monde", "Mundo", "Blue Sphere", "Terra Firma", "Gaia", "Gaea" "Sol III", "Mother Earth", "Blue Marble", "Planet", and of course, System War's most common use, "World" (as in Worldwide). ;) :P

I dont belive exclusives are important at this point in a consoles life and the proof exists in the fact that the PS3 has more, this is without doubt but they clearly do not sell as much as 360 exclusivesnor do they shift more consoles in any significant number. We have two trackable methods that can be used to prove this: NPD and Media Create.

I would say that most multiplat titles are outselling exclusive titles which obviously shows that people just want good games no matter who makes them. Honestly who wants to play Lair or Crackdown 2 when they could play Mass Effect 3 or Read Dead Redemption? Why does an establishedAAA rated franchise like Resistance sell less than a title like a new IP likeHomefront?

What is important is that consoles have a wide selection of games and they must have the big hitters like BF, COD, GTA, Half Life, Medal of Honor, EA Sports etc..

This is why MS is garbage!! They bone you with xbox live ( i.e. have to have to play netflix, youtube ect.) there HDD ect.If you guys like buying Fable, Gears, and Forza every year than by all means buy a 360. Sorry but a majority of those IPs are garbage. Resistance, Killzone, Infamous. They suck. I would rather get a few good excellent titles then a bunch of mediocre garbage on the PS3. The best exclusives on the PS3 are from franchises from LAST GEN.

One thing for sure though is that MS will be in a world of hurt next gen if they don't get new exclusives, no one is going to buy a system just to play multiplats. You buy a system to play the exclusives that you can't get on the other systems, you buy multiplats too but exclusives do matter. Only people that deny this are xbox fanboys...

On another note, why doesn't MS use Rare? They have a lot of talent (or had talentatleast)and MS basically killed them. Bring them back but none of that Conquer crap, that game is juvenile garbage.

I guess you could go back, and see how big the online fanbase still is in those games. A lot of xbox games that are old have a strong following online. More than I can say for any sony game. Not dissin' just sayin. Xbox lives numbers are very impressive. More impressive is that knowing they can get a consoles with FREE ONLINE, they still overwhelmingly chose to pay monthly for Gold on xbox live... what does that say for sony's online model?
