Very true but otherwise I really enjoyed this realistic depiction of MK. The trailer last year was great and I have to say this first episode is a nice start.

I don't mind they are taking the series this route for a possible 3rd movie. But so far it did seem like just another action short film, probably due to the fact there were no iconic characters like Sub zero and Scorpion, which Im sure are saved for later episodes. And I wonder how they will explain Outworld, probably as a bad neighbourhood and Shao Khan will be some powerful Drug lord :lol:

Klassic Scorpion skin Gameplay and interview

Cyber Sub Zero is a dumb addition, it should have been cyber smoke or Rain instead.

Smoke's hair looks dumb. They should have made him cyber smoke with a code that will allow you to transform him into human smoke by choice like in UMK3 before a match.

Reptile looks horrible, he looks almost as bad as how he looked in MK4.

Shao Kahn and Goro aren't playable.

Sub Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Milenna, and Kitana's classic customes should be included in the game as an alt custome not as some dumb promo deal.

We get DLC at lauch and Rain isn't apart of it? All characters from MK1 - 3 and you still leave out Rain(included within the 3rd installment) for crappy MK4 characters? WTF???

Though I find it werid that it seems this game has the worse scorpion fatalites ever. Not one contains a character trait of scorpion its just2 lame sword kills. Nothing to do with hiswell known weapon the spear or fire.Im not counting toasty since thats dlc and not part of the actual package you buy in stores.

Press 'start' to pause then go on 'moves list'. Combos shown here but press 'square' to see special moves including Scorpions Spear. Sorry I can't actually give you the spear command since I have never played as Scorpion and don't know how to do it, lol.

alt costumes not classic ones. Not sure about fatalities but most likely since they kept mention dlc fatalites you will have to spend more money for more fatalties. In the game everyone just has 2 fatalites.

Wait so you're calling what seems to be one of the most content filled fighters, ever, a rip off?

I'm fed up with them not including TOASTY! BTW, I also don't like UE3 engine for this game, it makes characters look so shiny and polished while they should be gritty and grainy. It's especially evident for Johnny Cage. Otherwise, I'm stoked to the max!Salt_The_Fries

Toasty is in. Hes in the demo at least, though its odd seeing such a high res pic when he pops out.

And yeah, UE3 is odd like that, but its really more of an issue with the artists than it is the engine. You can get a more natural looking shader output, but you have to work harder at it. The shader node system is UDK is more complex than what you see in most 3d apps. You have to jump through a lot of loops to get a desired effect. Plus a lot of artists cant be subtle and they want that normal mapped detail to smack you in the face so they ramp up the specularity to showcase it, which in turn leads to a glossy surface.

I can understand. As a character modeler you sit there and sculpt every little detail to perfection.... millions of polygons worth of details. Then when its time to bake that detail down to a low res game mesh you end up losing so many forms and sub-forms in translation. You want people to see your hard work through the normal map so you ramp up specularity and a lot of times even use an AO map as an overlay for your diffuse map, but often times it comes off as a bit much.
