The game will probably score an 8.5 here on gamespot. I can see it getting a 9 too if it turns out to be mindblowing(very likely but I'm sticking with AA).

Anyway, sick game can't wait to play it.

I thought it was pretty cool, making the character pull off his own head :lol: But it's good that each character will have more than one fatality. I hope MK has friendships too though, It was hinted at in the PS blog when Kratos gameplay was unveiled. It was stated that Kratos wont do minigames or friendships. I feel that pretty much confirmed that friendships will make an appearance, but maybe as an unlockable.

Wondering the same... Isn't this game supposed to be a rebbot because Raiden traveled back in time?? It would make sense to see an old Shang Tsung because he was old in the first game. Maybe the real alt is the young Shang Tsung.

I will say alt for 2 reasons. One being the first time he was shown for this game it was in his young form and two being the fact this story trailer showed him constally being young when they talked about his history. Im guessing the old person is alt.

to be honest the most fatalites im dissapointed with is scorps. None of them match the character unless they changed the second one during devlopment. Its all with him using his swords. A scorp fatality should at least involve 1 of these 3 things 1)spear 2)something with his skull head 3)fire. If these are missing for a fatality its a poor job done. I know he has his toasty one but thats dlc. Im talking about whats in the game already.

BTW, who's THE legendary warrior here and has been playing MK series ever since MK1? I started with MK2 in 95 or 96 on the PC, so I'm not that much of an old-school warrior.Salt_The_Fries

MK9 truly has a great cast of characters but they are all familiar faces, course some look really different like Human Smoke for example but that doesn't change the fact he is a veteran known character to the series. MK9 is definitely going to be a defining title in the series and I really hope we get some original characters created for this very title. It would be a waste of potential to just rely on the characters from MK1-3 though as awesome as they are. Just saying, MK9 is the perfect opportunity for devs to show at least one new (great)character and thus expanding the MK story in the process, assuming the character will not be a shallow knock-off like most of the new faces to the series in the last decade.

One would argue that almost every character made in and after MK4 were all wastes of space. percech

there were some I like. Like frost,kenshie,havik and I kinda liked Kobra mainly cause it was nice seeing another regular joe.

Cyber Sub-zero? Skarlett? They're not exactly original, but i'm sure they'll be great additions to the series. And i'm sure new characters will show up through DLC or in the next game.lusitanogamer
