Does anyone know if the PS3 version will have a similar online lobby where you can rate each player and such just like the 360?percechI think it's the same, unless this is the exclusive for 360.
I'm starting to think that unless one version outscores the other this thread wont get stickied.
And I doubt GS will give the PS3 version a 0.5 nod just for Kratos, 3d support and a better default controller. Plus its a UE3 game, so the chances of better visuals and/or performance is next to nothing.
sandbox3d
Why would a better default controller contribute to a .5 increase?
For one, that's subjective and secondly, you can buy a gamepad/arcade stick which are far superior to a controller.
That's like giving a .5 increase to the 360 version because green is your favorite color and the game comes in a green case.

Hope it's not an exclusive. It's a really neat idea. Watching them fight in theater mode.

King of the hill is for both.
Still no exclusive character for 360??drakekratos
it comes out in two days...do you really think they are going to add something to it? they already proved they do not care about 360 fans, and they already are making us pay for extra fatalities and classic costumes....$100 to get the full game. be happy they are not charging for more combos.

For one, I was just putting some flame bait ideas out their since that is what SW operates on. Trying to get fanboys to start making threads so this would get stickied. I don't seriously care about any of that crap.
Also, I never said a .5 increase just for the controller. I said the controller, the extra character, and the stereo 3d support. Funny how you managed to miss that.
Sure, DS3 being the better default controller my be subjective, but for this genre in particular it gets the popular vote every time. And as it seems you managed to selectively read only what you want to read yet again, I said DEFAULT controller. The one that comes with the console you are playing the game on. Sure, I'll be using a Saturn pad. Most of my friends will be using a stick. But the vast majority of players will be using the default controller for their console and if one proves to be significantly better than the other then it could factor in.
And as for your last statement..... how does having more accurate controls, an extra character and stereo 3d = color of a case?
Each and every one of those aspects is much, much more significant than case color, especially when it can affect gameplay (since you chose to pick on the controller notion).
I guess mission success. I meant to get some fanboys butt hurt, but you were supposed to go make another thread, not react in this one.
btw, love your sig lol
Operation Get MK9 a sticky is in full effect. *Puts hat on* Lets do this!!

ok heres the plan someone make a bunch of mk threads and im sure it will get sticky......right?:(

Anyone else find it unfair that Kabal can perform his xray on the opponent while he's spinning(Kabal's dash move), but Subzero can't perform his xray while the opponent is frozen?
EDIT: NVM, I guess it was like that in the demo only.
percech
Na in the demo you can do it too. You just cant be to close or do it to soon.
This game comes out tomorrow and this thread isn't stickied.:|
mitu123
Of course not, portal 2 is sucking up all the attention, even though i haven't seen that many topics about it and seeing the hype topic for it is not even at 300 posts when compared to MK's hype topic.
Oh well.

Because the D-Pad is atrocious on the 360, and this is a fighting game not a FPS that is why. I'm getting this game as soon as I get the cash and I'll be getting it for my PS3 and not my 360 for just that reason. So yes gameplay wise it WILL be a better experience on the PS3 and should probably get more than just a .5 increase and more like a 1 or 1.5 point increase.
Well I got more time in on the game tonight. Significantly more time.
First I gotta say I was wrong yesterday about Reptile and Smokes invisibility being pointless. When used as an ex move they do go completely invisible.
I went through a ladder so I could see some bosses and an ending. Goro and Shao Khan are a little cheap, but still fun to fight. They can basically auto break through your moves at any time and Shao Khan can auto cancel his own moves into others. Shao Khan also has a hammer throw that leaves your character stunned for a few seconds. The problem is he can spam it. He did it to me 3 times in a row at one point and I could do nothing but helplessly stand there. I had to cheap him out spamming teleports with Scorpion, but I finally beat. Scorpions ending was short and sweet, but I'm not dropping any spoilers in this post. Oh and Shang Tsung. I was playing a tag team ladder so I was Sub/Scorp vs Shang. He was able to morph into both of my characters and Sektor. I guess the game is built to load a max of 4 characters, so he could morph into the two I was playing as and I guess the last pick (Sektor in this case) was random.
I checked out the training and practice modes and the are pretty much what you'd expect. Practice mode was actually a little short on the options though.
The challenge tower is fun and has a lot of random stuff. The Krypt is huge!
I played as every character on the roster. Yesterday I was diggin Noob and Smoke, but today I'm all about Kitana and Raiden....especially Kitana! She has a wide range of moves and easy to pull off combos. Just as always shes a beast in the corners. I still say that every character is great. Some are obviously tougher to use than others. For those of you that had issues stringing stuff together with Sub-Zero in the demo, you may find the same difficulty with Noob and Reptile. They are perfectly capable characters, but just take a little work. And Scorpion has been nerfed from the demo version. You cant pull off the same seemingly endless teleport juggles anymore.
Well I could ramble forever, but you guys will be playing soon enough.
I'm still calling a 9, and regardless of what GS rates it, this game will be a 10 for MK fans.

 I wish I did!
A friend of mine got a review copy early and has let me come join in on the fun a couple of times. We'll all be playing soon enough though! :)

Oh, gotcha.
@FinalFantasy94.
I was actually surprised. There was something like 24 or 25 characters from the start. Basically the whole select screen was open. I'm not sure if this is only for review copies or what.
Mortal Kombat patch 1.01 released before game launch
The patch is for an Ermac and Cyrax infinite that was found. For those of you unaware of what an infinite is, it's a move that can be done over and over to an opponent and he cannot get out of it.

I'm glad they're on top of these things. I hope they stay at it cause you know people are going to look for every exploit possible.
Hey guys, I just got an email from Amazon giving me the classic Reptile code. Would I be able to enter it right now, or do I have to wait?percech
i would think you would have to wait until you got the game no? unless it is like dlc and is on the marketplace or something. not really sure. I am going with having to wait for the game though, I feel like there will be a store menu or something in the game..kind of like bad company had.
From the streams I've been watching it seems that PS3 lags more often than XBL.percech
Theres 2 things going against that. 1 the person could have crappy connection for the system or 2 the stream itself isint that stable. I never trust streaming vids when it comes to lag. I gatta see for myself.

It's not the stream itself. I can tell and the guy streaming even mentions it. Although, I noticed a fair amount of lag on the 360 too. Plenty of connection losts. However now I'm noticing how barren PSN is compared to XBL.

From the streams I've been watching it seems that PS3 lags more often than XBL.percech

Glad I have a lot of MK playing friends for local multi. :)
I'd seriously hate depending on the online functionality to enjoy this. That's what happened to me with SF4 and it sucked.
sandbox3d
Yea on wensday when I pick it up me and 3 other friends going to play some local. Then imma head back home to pick on some prey and hopefully get the 10 rank win in a row trophy.

Nice. I'm sure the online will be fun, but nothing beats passing around the controller and talking smack in person. :D
Man, I'm hyped! This game is so sick!
