Mortal Kombat Hype thread!!..56k Finish him!!! Hype met GS 8.5

Just got it and played some of the story mode. It's cool. Really well-done for what it is.

Such a weird feeling to actually learn new characters in a fighting game. When I first played Sonya I hated her, but by the end of her chapter I felt like I could use her pretty effectively. I think this might be the game that really gets me into fighters.

Couldn't agree more, as much as I liked the story I pretty much hated playing with every character until I got to Sub Zero since I have played with him a lot on the demo. My sickest combo damage wise is still with Sub. I had to force myself to get good with him after I burnt myself out with Scorp on the demo.

Smoke is my main though, and Noob is right behind him, but I have a very strong game with Scorp and Sub.

Did Kratos live up to your expectation in the game ? I rather like his play style despite being slower than what you would expect from him but than again if Kratos played in MK9 like he did in GOW3 no one would be alive, lol.

This is the one genre where lag just absolutely kills it for me. I was so angry dealing with that when SF4 first came out. It got noticeably better over time though, so hopefully MK can get it together as well.

Its too repetitive and at times it gets completly boring ( probably because im not a big of a fan of fighting games ), very frustrating at times, too much blood and gore gets annying the mroe you play, fitalities nothing that amazing like people make it, completly a 6.5/10game.. kratos was a nice add in there, i play as him the most on arcada

Kratos the only character i use to play on Arcada mode and the most character too i used on training mode to learn all his moves. he's a cool add on. wish he was in the story

Heh, you never know. I've gotten so used to my friends play styIes, so it might screw me up when I go online. The other day I almost lost a round to a guy that had never even played the game before lol. Everything he did was just so unexpected lol.

But yeah man, just go to practice mode and work on those combos! If you're having trouble with a specific part then try isolating it and practice just that section over and over till its second nature. Thats all I do and eventually it all just comes together.

LMAO the same thing happened to me a few years ago with Soul Calibur II. I was the man at that game and no one could beat me (Link usually). Then one of my friends friends who had never played before beats me because I just couldnt predict his buttom mashing ways :P. Twas frustrating lol.

I would have gladly payed extra for the PS3 version if NRS incorporated him in the story, not a huge part but something like Shao Khan searches through realms and brings a fighter(Kratos), manipulates him to turn on Raiden. Thus before the last fight Raiden has in the story he first has to take care of Kratos. By doing so he rids him of the curse and sends him back to his realm. And before we see Kratos in the finale of the story we see glimpses of him before Shao Khan in certain parts of the game, camera panning to his sword on one scene, his tattoo in another.

I was reading something on ign that basicly let the editors speak thier thoughts on the game and one editorbasicly said this as a negative"Its a fighting game thats for people who dont like fightersand I like fighters" he basicly tried to play this off as logic. When in fact that me and my friend who enjoy fighters really like the game breaks that logic.

That sounds pretty good and agree, they really should have added him in story :(

The krypt has them hidden. so gather some koin and go bash some people up and take the prize lol.

Yeah, I know lol.... I think Percech is the poster you are thinking of. He usually seems like a level headed guy, but he shot off like a loose cannon in that one thread. I wanted to get his back at first since he was simply sick of people trash talking MK, but then he started going a little too far and before I knew it he had gone off the deep end. :lol:
