Mortal Kombat Hype thread!!..56k Finish him!!! Hype met GS 8.5

I'm not doing that stay far away tactic anymore, I just charge him, jump over him as he always tries to attack me and attack him back. I hate his hammer though when he throws it, far worse than the spear, the spear is easy to avoid.

Anyone notice how when you do an X-Ray move on him it doesn't do a lot of damage compared to other characters, it's less than half the damage, LOL, while his X-Ray is brutal.

I don't find him difficult either honestly. At first I did and I kept on having to cheap him out with teleport characters. Its fairly easy to consistently beat him flawless with Raiden even on extreme. Then you got guys like Scorp, Smoke, Noob, Sektor, Cyrax and Cyber Sub that can cheap him out as well. But now I've gotten to the point that I pretty much just fight him straight on. Occasionally he'll spam a bad combination of moves and get me, but for the most part I get the upper hand even fighting head on. Stick and move, stick and move.

Sometimes he'll just get you no matter what, I'll admit that. But usually if you start out a longer combo he'll stop the first couple of hits, but the following hits will make it through. One example I can think of is Liu Kang. My first tactic with Liu was to simply spam low fire balls from full screen. Later I realized that I could simply stay on him and spam his triangle, square, X juggle combo over and over again. He may break it at times, but in the long run you will wear him down.

I'm not gonna pretend that there is a consistent method to get him every time with all characters. If his AI decides that you arent going to get those hits then there isnt much you can do. But more often then not, staying on him with your best combos will get the job done. Plus he does have many openings. Not just his taunts, but the fact that he has really long recovery times after most of his moves. Thats how I got him with Sub. Duck or jump over his projectiles dash in when he is recovering and spam the longest combo I can pull off.

i've only played with subby for the whole week i've got this game and it only shows i've spent only 4 hours with him.. >.>.. i think i'll never get that 24hr character trophy ever. lol HitomiChan

This is the tatic I used ever since I had the game. I never ever go for the stay far away tatic. Usally takes to dang long.

Test you Luck is just the best! Also I like rainbow blood, the most annoying one is being gun shy and/or confused, could never win with those rules.

Did anyone manage to get the MK logo for every reel ? I only got maximum of 3, I think there's a trophy/achievement for getting the cash logo on every reel.

I think it is time to climb the tower much further than I have. Only at 32 or something cause I have been focused on the story and just beat the Ladder on medium and hard with kitana. Man I cannot wait to play against you guys :P....stupid PSN :( lol

You proboly seen the combo when the demo was around. Its the back square,traingle,freeze,jump punch,back square,triangle,triangle,square,ice slide. You can ex the slide to make it 10.

Yea its basicly make your own combo. The base combos they give you can help you start one and you can see what conncect with what. Your seen how long you can keep a juggle going basicly. For example I can get a 11 hit with kabal. The base combo I use is back square,triangle,square. Then I see what els I can connect after that combo. Also dashing helps alot.

What do you mean exactly? Can you give me an example? I am finding some interesting ones, but it can be VERY hard to string them together because they go too far when you hit them. I have one that does about 27% damage with kitana. Thanks for the help :P.

Combos are fun to do. :3 Imagine being the person that makes combo videos for games that have combos into the 50's and up.

I'm glad this game didn't turn into the broken mess some of the other MK games were.

I usally go to pratice with a character imma use for ladder next. So I can learn a basic combo and beat the ladder without getting to much a headace. Now im just in pratice for the characters I really wanna learn. Im trying my best with jade right nowthough its a bit tough for me with her. I know a few things like a 5 hit combo but I always try tolearn at least a 8-10 hit if I can. I also always try to find a way to connect the xrays.

Import it. The game also has a gravity system in place to prevent infinites. Though that was broken anyways and actually made more infinites.

I always though b+1 was a good poke to use.

When I played the demo, I would usually use b+1 or normal 2 to start combos.

Although the combos it gives you are only 3 moves long, you can string together your own combos.mrmusicman247

I got an easy one with ermac if you want to try.

Basically do this hold forward then press square,square,circle the minute he kicks him to the other side of the screen, to the teleport with down back circle, as you land the teleport do the lift with down back square, when he is lifted.. dash forward and hit triangle, then triangle and input back forward square for the force push very quickly.

My max damage with ermac is 60% with x-ray (mid screen) and 50% without.

Loving Sub Zero's Alt costume, mostly because the sound effects he makes during combos is awesome. Also the fact that it has a simple design compared to his main outfit. And that's why I really want the Klassic costume because it takes the simplicity a step further, hope they put it in the PS store soon. Not too soon though, lol.

BTW I just realised the game doesn't have custom soundtrack on the PS3, now why would they include it in the demo but not the game?

Just got it and played some of the story mode. It's cool. Really well-done for what it is.

Such a weird feeling to actually learn new characters in a fighting game. When I first played Sonya I hated her, but by the end of her chapter I felt like I could use her pretty effectively. I think this might be the game that really gets me into fighters.
