I don't really get your point though. What is a new engine going to afford you? The most visible change will be graphics. Its a remake so the game will still have the exact same gameplay will it not? Most Remakes do bar a few lke REmake. With HA they also re recorded all the audio and added a lot of new feautres (not gameplay features except for firefight granted) as well/ the way you describe remaster vs remake is rather blurred. It makes games clearly labeled as remakes seem like remasters due to some behind the scenes stuff most people wouldn't even know.

What I'm essentially saying is that in the end it affords you the exact same thing. A remake is suppose to play like the original. Remakes like Klonoa for example play exaclty like the original just on a new engine. So basically all I am saying is that is a remake just a new engine to you?

Eh no, doing more research into this (because I wanted to be sure) the additions to the game are pretty damn numerous. What I read is they are running the original halo's engine to keep the same gameplay and physics (you're correct on that I appologoize for stating you weren't) under halo Reach's Graphics engine (hence why it looks significantly better then the original) to keep the old games exact feel while brining its visuals up to the current generation. They are also rerecording all the non voiced audio while keeping the voiced the same. You can switch between old and new graphics at any time. There is a new Firefight map (fire fight was not in the original halo) and 6 remake maps that will be the exact original and then modified versions with more current features. That sounds more like a remake to me than a simple HD collection which someone originally stated were remakes. That's pretty significant frankly.

I realize only exclusives are the reason people purchase consoles here on Gamespot, but the 360 has had tons of great games come out for it this year.

I agree LBP 2 did meet the hype and deserves its AAA. It justone of those games that the mainstream doesn't particularly enjoy which is a shame.

Anniversary I'm not big on. MS focuses ona few exclusives and earn higher sales because of it. They put more marketing and all into it. So while some hardcore gamers get pissy and complain about how they had to wait 10 months or something, MS is busy raking in more cash because of their focus on hyping up a handful of games as opposed to 20 exclusives that don't sell as much.

I don't expect MS to change up their 1st party ways anytime soon because of that. Gears, Halo, Forza, Fable, that's their line-up. They've got FPS, TPS, Racer and RPG covered. The one major issue I have is that Fable isn't that good of an RPG. :P

If we lived in a world where there are no exclusives but only multiplats our deciding factor on which system to get would be the following

1) Either you want the best looking/superior versions, have the money and get a PC

2) You are tight on money and get the CHEAPEST console..

However since all systems sell is only because they have something unique to offer and this unique offer comes in the form of EXCLUSIVE GAMES..
