Ok, I'm done buying CoD.
But you are going to spend the rest of life preaching against COD right?Till the day you die.

Emm Last time I checked you couldn't choose kill streaks, couldn't duel wield guns, could'nt get a nuke, couldn't fly a chopper for kill streak, couldn't use 2 attachments, couldn't use a shogun or machine pistol for secondary weapon and couldn't use elevators in Cod4. Notice that you've been playing Cod4 for the past 4 years.

I'm not going to deny that each games is similar to the previous in some way. (They are) I really don't care though.
A lot of the hate is blind too. Look at the newest CoD elite video. The people in the comment section have no idea what CoD elite is but they still hate on it and post ignorant comments.
Yeah! I agree with yousome of the hate is blind, but some of the hate is justified at times. I seriously don't know why people assume everything in elite is not free.

Well so far you are failing since Cod's sales are going sky high.I love when people think the COD franchise is invincible in sales and that nothing can stop it. People have said the same thing in the past to the Tony Hawk franchise and the Guitar Hero franchise, but look at were they are now.

Yeah I agree that some of the hate is justified. I can also see some people getting tired of hearing about the games (With some of the CoD trolls that posted here. I'm sure you know them. :P) but it's still pretty easy to ignore it.I'm just tired of reading comments about things people don't understand. "Battlefield does this for free!" Yeah so does CoD now... :P I guess people can't just ignore the optional fee. (Which as for as I know, it only involves something with the DLC and a few thing they haven't spoked about.)

Well to be fair neither of those games were multiplayer focus. Those games were eventually going to die unless the devs found new ways to add new gameplay elements. The MP in COD is what keeps gamers coming back, and its one of the reasons its sales are so high every year.

A lot of things that broke MW2 aren't returning.
Commando, knife lunge range been reduce, OMA, nukes, Noobtube exploits, KS being more supportive than dominating. They're focusing more on run and gun action. (Which I expect from a CoD game.)
whats innovative? WEll, sound quality, gun realism, Destruction 1.0 - 2.0 (micro), pushing graphics further (on the PC obviously), bullet drop, addition of newer vehicles
Ribnarak
None of those are innovations. Battlefield 3 could be a next big evolution in FPS genre, but I wouldn't really call it innovative.

Got any proof saying it's not? My estimate is based on the fact that each COD after 4 has broken records on sales. So whats your estimate based on?I'm looking at the history of Activsion's past sales king. Both of these games at one time were in the phase the COD franchise was in.People thought it was impossible for these games to drop in sales even if Activsion released them a lot.Activsion did just that and the games both rapidly dropped in sales even though the Tony Hawk games experienced a slightly bigger drop then the Guitar Hero games in sales.Activsion tried to revive both games by iinnovating the gameplay in both gamesso people would like them again, but that didn't work and the sales and critcial reception for both franchise went to all time especally for(Tony Hawk). At one point in the Tony Hawk franchise the games in the franchise had in the mid to high ninty's in critcal reviews, butthe critical reception for this franchise has dropped by at least 50% in the last 5 years. I'm not expecting the COD franchise to drop rapidly in review and sales just yet, but don't expect MW3 to get a easy 90% like the other MW games on MC.I expect in the range of 75%-89% for the gameonce all thw reviews are calculated for MW3 later on this year.
I'm pretty sure those aren't returning. :P[QUOTE="rasengan2552"]

Yep run n gun all the way:D, people say they want COD to feature more tactical based gameplay and rely more on stealth, but they don't understand that that would practically ruin the game as the COD franchise has always been about twitch shooting and the hit detection has always been horrid so that Rainbow Six Vegas style of gameplay would fail in this game.Well so far you are failing since Cod's sales are going sky high.[QUOTE="viper-kid"][QUOTE="Jebus213"]

Robert Bowling said everything will be free so I doubt they'll change it. Wouldn't be good for them.I'm sure the leaderboards stuff will be free. The video thing will probably be free to. They may give a few exclusives to people that pay but that's about it. I highly doubt they'll change it.

Maybe one the consoles I could see it not being as good, since you have the host advantage in those games, and lag depends on how good their connection is. But really I'll go as far I say I've seen plenty of videos on youtube of people complaining about hit detection, only for me to be seeing them miss shots. If you play COD on PC with dedicated servers and players with good ping the hit detection is ace.

it shows that millions of people think it is, and your opinion is in the minority ... not wrong but in the minority. This is what people forget, that those millions of people buying COD also have an opinion. For some reason people on this forum feel their opinions are better.Adding new vehicles is innovative but not guns? Lol, okay. Neither are. And better sound and graphics are innovative? This is standard sequel fair. Dice isn't treading new territory here.[QUOTE="vashkey"]
[QUOTE="Ribnarak"]
On the topic of BF3:
it is WAY more innovative than the current COD franchise. DICE is actually talented enough to not just add a few guns, camo's, facepaint, cross hair colour, etc to their games.it is a direct sequel to BF2. Yes we know bad company 1/2 came out, but those were made solelywith keeping the console on the mind. And if you want ill count them as a part of the battlefield series, but you must agree that what theyve done with their game is absolutely innovative:
whats innovative? WEll, sound quality, gun realism, Destruction 1.0 - 2.0 (micro), pushing graphics further (on the PC obviously), bullet drop, addition of newer vehicles
If someone says that BF is the same as COD in terms of innovation, i would NEVER (andi mean it) take their opinion seriously. Thats just rediculous.Ribnarak

Whenever I get on MW2 and it isn't one of those clan days, I just run around, knife, shoot, and circle a map till there's no tomorrow. Nothing after COD4 has given me reason to go and play COD's multiplayer.
also to add what someone else said
a little too late
they knew the popularity of cod4 back in 2008(since it took a few months for people to like cod4)
yet didnt give it any support, i mean they patched the m16 2 YEARS LATER? like right before mw2 they patchd cod4 a little?
they know what people want, but it aint happening, and the fact that the minds behind cod4 no longer work at IW, they are grasping for straws
black ops was boring as hell, ill admit, but it was the closest to cod4 since

Since BF2 and 2142, no, there havent been actual battlefield games. You could put a BF3 disc in a MW3 case, and for the most part all but the hardest of hardcore MW3 vs BF3 types would be hard pressed to notice the difference. BF3 looks like a solid shooter and maybe it'll be better than MW3, but the idea that it's some bastion of innovation and fresh design in the face of the CoD franchise is hi-larious.
Oh please. It may not be fresh, but to say they are identical is 100% wrong! What's even worse is I'm not surprised someone would make such a claim. His post does have some merit, however. It seems most of the people hyping BF3 to high heaven are expecting the game to be some revolutionary piece of art, when all we've seen so far is some nice graphics/motion capture, and a crap-ton of scripted destruction sequences...

Despite major changes to the core gameplay (and even removing a ton of features from previous titles), Metroid Prime Other M is still a Metroid game, Killzone 3/Liberation is still a Killzone game, Super Mario Galaxy is still a Mario game, Resident Evil 4 is still a Resident Evil game.
So what makes Battlefield: Bad Company, an FPS that is multiplayer focused, with a focus on vehicle combat, extremely similar cIasses to play as from previous installments, not of the same series as older Battlefield games? I'd really like to know.

The call of duty's we have now still play a lot like COD2 and even the 1st one. The only reason they dont feel much a like is because Call of duty 2 was a much slower game. One it didnt have a spint button, 2nd the guns are much different as many were bolt action guns. What mkes the games so fun are the great responsive controls. One of the complint I've read a lot when call of duty 4 came out that it was just Call of duty with modern guns. Personally I dont see that as a bad thing, as long as the games change enough to warrant a purchase. MW1 to MW2 would have been a good change of pace if it wasn't for IW incompetence and had actually noticed the game was an unbalanced mess. What was even worse they never did anything to fixed its problems.... And on the PC side they did everything you could have done wrong with a PC release.
