[QUOTE="Jacboy71"]Why should I be pleased by that video? It showed 15 seconds of a 1 minute video that didn't involve the vehicles. This doesn't do anything to show me that vehicles have not become the PRIMARY focus of the game. If the percentageses were reversed then maybe I'd be happier.New vid is up

Geez maybe the fact that we have yet to see a vehicle pick up one collectable yet we have seen a hand full of ones where your on foot grabbing them.

Collecting things and Platforming aren't the same thing... and Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie weren't pure platformers anyway... it was about verity, and this the variety seems to come form taking parts you find and making new wacky machines.

I would consider that car that the player put together jumping up on that platform and getting that propellar to be platforming. Its just like in SMG how you get the bee suit or spring, but instead of getting power-up's you actually find them and build them yourself.

AND maybe if they would show us more of that part we would shut up. But they haven't. They showed us platform to get note, drive, bounce in vehicle, fly, drive some more, bash around in a vehicle. Again from what they are FOCUSING on we'll be spending a lot more time in those studip vehicles than platforming.I'm suprised nobody's put the link to the new trailer

You do make a very good point.
I think your right in a way, but the main diffrence I can think of is that SMG the Bee suit and other things are just minor aspects which come into play for some stars. But in this game the main focus is on the machines you build, your right though in a way it's an intresting power up method.

Whats the point of this being a Banjo game? It doesnt seem like they are using any of Banjo and Koazooies special moves from the first two games. This should be a new franchise, not a Banjo game. It seems to me they just stuck the Banjo name on it to sell more copies.web966
It has been said its not part three to the series its just in the universe.

It's still a Banjo, but now with the addition of vehicles. Also, it's not called Banjo Threeie, so people shouldn't be expecting a direct sequel. Why people are complaining about it is beyond me. It's like complaining about Paper Mario and why it wasn't a platformer. Makes no sense at all. Different name, different game.

Ill be fair and say we dont know exactly the extent of the vehicle focus, but with that being said we dont know exactly how much those vehicles can do for us in a lot of other situations that they may have planed out so you just do platforming.
From the videos I can understand your view, but Im picking details that others seem to be overlooking and I think there will be a lot more platforming that what is shown.

Paper Mario, Star Fox: adventures, and the like all met shap criticism when they were first made too.
Really isn't Rare doing what Nintendo is criticized as for doing? Spin off games and puting the same caracters into games with diffrent gameplay... It's not as bad I admit as all that, but isn't it in a way the same thing?

You have a point, but I think one big difference is that while Mario Kart and Paper Mario are different from the regular Mario platformers, you still have a traditional Mario game available. We've waited a long time for this game, heck almost 2 years since it was announced and we had expected something close to BK. Now it may turn out that it's closer than we're being lead to believe, but right now, this wasn't the game I bought my 360 for. I also think that you'll find that there are always people that have a breaking point to how much you can tweak the gameplay. I know there are plenty of people who were disappointed that SPM lost a lot og its RPG elelments to be more of a platformer.[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="Jacboy71"][QUOTE="web966"]Whats the point of this being a Banjo game? yet another PS3 fanboy bashing, if you look at its posting history you will agree.
Yeah look at my posting History.. i Praise games like Alan Wake, Alone in the Dark, Siren, REsident Evil 5, Mario Galaxy, Zelda TP and NG. While games like this, i critisize. Think what you want, but this looks boring has *^%^, much rather get the new Viva Pinata game than this.
oh boy!
You dis-agree....?
Call of Duty 4, Stalker, Bioshock, HL2: Orange box were all exceptional games, and A LOT BETTER THAN HALO 3. and wow that was a long time ago, i mean even before the release of the game. And in turns out i was right because compared to the games i listed before HAlo 3 was definately lackluster. And forget quantity i beat the campaign in 9 hours, and forge isn't as deep as that guy even suggested. I'm not saying its a bad game, its gotten really good scores and it deserves them.
My problem is that you guys won't even give it a chance. Sure I am disappointed that they didn't play it safe and give what the long-time Banjo fans exactly what they wanted, but I am not going to be angry about it because there is so much that is going to be in this game that we don't know. I might like this, I know there will be lots of platforming but making my own vehicle will be great too.IlivedYou're right. THis game might be great. If it were just some game that had those vehicle elements I'd probably be saying, "Hey that looks really sharp. What an interesting idea for customization.", but I still wouldn't want the game. That gameplay doesn't appeal to me.
Now you say, "I know there will be lots of platforming." but do you really know this, or are you making an assumption. Everything I has read and seen so far has indicated a high priorety on vehicles and a low one on platforming. If you can show me something different, please do.
I'm so astounded at how bad this made the game look. Where the hell is the platforming? I wanted Banjo 3 not Banjo Racing. UGHH... RARE please prove me wrong but this looks terrible. I wasn't impressed wtih the art style either. The only thing that astounded me was the beach enviornments. Everything else looks, while colorful, uninspired.Homesrfan
Obviously there's a clip of him doing platforming and collecting a note. Do people honestly believe there's only 1 music note to collect in the game or what?

Generic Platformer? After what's happened to platformers, Banjo is now more generic than SMG and other Mario's are. Now a generic platformer is one that adds in vehicles and weapons because they can't think of enough pure platforming things to do to make the game fun.
