From the beta testers it has improved graphics but the focus is on 5 v 5 competitive play. They really are just balancing the gameplay and adding some new weapons and maps. Old maps are returning but some have been tweaked for better 5 v 5 competition. I can imagine the matchmaking is also there to put the focus more on competition and less on just pubbing.

I'm sure there will be a higher player limit and a server browser as well.

From what the beta testers say it's trying to make CSS much more competitive. With the rise of esports lately, this shouldn't be a suprise. A lot of people don't like CSS becuase it wasn't really well balanced for comeptition. That seems to now be the first priority of this game.

The game will use a matchmaking system like SC2 and hopefully a ranking system so you can seperate skill levels. If that's consolization then I give up on life.

Your asking me to present something you can't. I've given my reasons for liking the game back when it launched. I see no reason to do it again.

But when I played it, I got bored and never finished it. Just isn't my game and I don't see why so many liked it.

This is ALL about e-sports. CoD is not competitive enough for true esports and quake is really losing it fast. Valve sees an opportunity and I'm glad they are taking it.

Anyways I'm still not worried. They have the top community counter strike teams as beta testers. This is all about pure competition. It will be legit CS.

5 v 5 is where it's at.

Matchmaking for competitive play. Think of Starcraft 2. Dedicated servers are great for pubbing but horrible for real competition. This whole game is about 5 v 5 competition.

So it's coming to the consoles or am I mistaken?

I seriously hope this is packed with Half Life 3

And :lol: at the people defending Half-Life 2. The gunplay was absolute s***. Hell, Half-Life, Halo: CE, Duke Nukem 3D, and Quake III have better gunplay. It didn't feel good to shoot anything in that f***ing game. It felt like you were shooting airsoft rifles. The level design was mediocre at best, the vehicle sections played like someone pulled them out of Satan's a******, the enemy A.I. was horrible, and game loved to through physics puzzles at you for no other reason than Valve had a new physics engine and they were all, "HAI GUIZ, LOOK HOW COOL THIS IS!!1!" The only things that weren't done poorly in that game were storytelling (but the story itself still blows), and atmosphere, and both of those things have been surpased by other games years ago.

It's all flash, no substance. It rode on Half-Life's coattails (which was a legitimately great game), hype, and pretty graphics, and now it gets a free pass because the mainstream gaming media liked it (Newsflash: They like Call of Duty, too. You aren't helping your case) and the fans can't get over their nostalgia. It doesn't hold up, and people need to stop treating it like some Holy Grail.
