[QUOTE="mismajor99"]I'm sorry, they weren't just dissapointed, they "screwed up"."As it turns out, many staffers at Halo 2 developer Bungie agree with the criticisms leveled at the game. Writer and Bungie.net weekly update author Frank O'Connor admitted that Halo 2's finale was lackluster. "We drove off [a cliff] Thelma & Louise ****"

Thats not entirely correct, Frankie came out about a week after and said he found that funny that people thought that. Bungie doesn't dislike Halo 2, they dislike they couldn't do everything they wanted.
Bungie Hates Halo 2
Of course we don't. We love it. Was it perfect? Of course not. This week, weirdly, a bunch of websites ran excerpts from a month-old interview with Edge Magazine where some Bungie staff expressed dissatisfaction with various game features in H2. Of course we did. We're always trying to improve it. Anyhoo, long story short, for some reason, we got quoted out of context as basically hating everything about the dear old game, when in fact we love it, and want to build on it.
The stout fellows at 1Up.com ran a story today with quotes from us explaining ourselves. You can read that HERE. And you'll be all like, "Aaaah, I get where they're coming from." Probably.

My whole point was that Bungie needs to get back to their roots, but, when you boil it down, it really doesn't matter as young males will go out and purchase the game in the millions, thanks to the hype machine. Crysis doesn't have a hype machine, besides PC Gamers themselves discussing it on gaming forums. You'll see a Halo commericial during the super bowl, but you'll never see Crysis. This shouldn't take away from Crysis at all though, and if it lives up to what's being promised, it's definately worthy of mention for GOTY.
I predict Crysis low AAA. If it scores high AA, I'll be fine with that. Mid AA and lower, I will accept ownage. organic_machine
I dont see it getting AA, but even if it does, who cares? STALKER was 8.7 AA and is an amazing game, it could of been oh so much better if a few things were adressed, but its one of the only games I can keep going back to atm because I like it so much.
The thing thats worrying me about Crysis is, "Frozen Islands and Zero G Worlds" Weve seen tons of the jungle/island/off-shore locations .... but barely any of the other 2, I understand they dont want to leak any story .... but in my books after they said "The Multiplayer wont include Zero G & Frozen Island as standard" ... Im thinking theres a really high chance that those 2 will be rushed, not half as interactive/impressive as the jungle counterpart ..... which could damage the game overall.
For me this is awesome its like Half-Life 2 physics and interactivity on steroids yet at the same time massive levels that sprawl over numerous kilometers! My hype meter for Crysis is on overdrive, now if only the story was as interesting as Half-Life's.

I don't think they will have rushed this game at all and the frozen and zero g will be just as interactive/impressiveas the jungle if not more than what has been seen so far.

Yea I hope so too, I just wish they would realease at least some footage of the frozen islands that involves the interactivity of the sourroundings, not just that "Shooting the Giant Hunter" clip with the minigun.
as time goes by, i'm becoming less and less impressed with crysis. Seriously, they can only release so many screens that make you go "holy crap that looks great" now its just standard affair. "New crysis screen? okay..."FlawlessSeasons
But what about the tidbits from the article? Thats what most of us here are salivating over, not the new screens.
Funny how the critics seem more focused on the graphics than the people actually following and anticipating the game.

Funny thing is every time we see new mass effect screens you guys are like awesome. Totally haxors to the extreme. So with your theory as time goes by mass effect downgrades more and more. Plus i hate to burst your bubble but what we are seeing now is alpha not beta. I cant wait to see what beta looks like. This is at flawless seasons not thecrazed.

But But teh new NPC Conversations interface
well I got th eram, I got the CPU(actually a better cpu), but I have a 600mhz 7900GT, so its anyones guess. Crysis is Cryteks dream game, they want perfection, and they will deliver. Crysis might even set the standard too high, which is both good and bad. 2007 is a great year, Crysis,Bioshock, STALKER, H-L 2 ep2, CoD4, it is one of th ebest year for shooter fans.muscleserge
With a 7900GT you'll max it in DX9 mode.

Sure mass effect may be a great game but there isnt enough there that is convincing me. Unlike crysis. Every interview i read. Crysis just looks like its going to be that more amazing. I really hope it comes out in september because i probably wont be getting halo3 for 360.

Same here. Between Crysis, Hellgate, The Witcher, and World in Conflict, my Gaming needs are more than satisfied. I will most likely pick up Mass Effect, but probably not until next year.
and a new picture of the editor.
looks pretty simple and easy to use.

Wow, it looks way easier than the Unreal Engine 2:o

Actually, it's still in pre-alpha.:)

Agreed. Lemmings mock Cows for Resistence, but IMO 8.6 is a great score. One of my all tiem favorite games, Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, got an 8.7. AA is a great score for a great game.
Halo 2 looks better than those. Also, the gameplay is lacking. I know because I played it 2 minutes ago.16bitkevinI disagree. Strongly. Not so much the graphics as much as the gameplay. Halo 2 is vastly dumbed down from Halo 1 regarding multiplayer, and there's a video called something like "Halo 2 n00bified" that reaffirms my opinion. Crysis looks like it could be a blast in multiplayer mode, though-suit modes, customizable weapons, component vehicle damage, and a highly destructable environment. Watch your back, Battlefield 2! I don't expect to change your opinion, but I just had to spill my two cents.
OVER FREAKIN RATED !
Its sad that most people will have to play the dumb down version graphically. Also Cytec animation are way too rigid if the multiplayer plays anything like Far Cry than that just sucks. Rehashed story, rehashed abilites and uber graphics for the few..thats makes this game overrated and again nothing ground breaking as far as story or gameplay.
But thats just the truth.
I'llbe upgrading my computer in July to play Combat Mission: Shock Force, Crysis will be icing on the cake. Although for FPS games I am more of a multiplayer player and the fact that they stated that the two other environments will have lessfocus is disappointing. So in that regard I am more exited for Quake Wars. It would be amazing though if they feature an editorsystem similar to Operation Flashpoint.
