[QUOTE="OneSanitarium"][QUOTE="110million"] You found the game boring but you beat it 3 times? Difficult or not, it was not why I loved the game, I felt it controlled a lot better then many action RPGs and the atmosphere of course. The precise blocking and attacking was much better then in most other games. Difficult or not, 99% of games released these days are a joke and make it hard to even die at all. Demon's Souls wasn't particularly hard, it was more like what you'd hope games would be like. 110million
I enjoyed it at first, but that went away by the end of the first playthrough. I continued to play through it because I like grinding. By the time I traded it in, i was about level 212. Not the highest, but thats where I stopped when i traded it in.
I don't feel the blocking was all the precise or anything. I also feel the leniency for Just Blocks was way too long. I don't like being able to casually stroll around an Just Block on instinct. Though I only did it on the common enemies and never the bigger ones, because I never realized what it was until I was grinding, and at that point I was just running backward through a level and soul stealing Black Phantoms.
There may have been more leniancy then expected, but I mean its rare for your swing or block to go unexpectedly, in a lot of games, you may mash attack and once in a while it clips through objects and stuff, but a lot of the times in Demon's Souls, swords bounce off walls and blocking is pretty realistic for what areas you are defending and stuff. With the left hand/right hand system, it goes farther then the average action RPG in terms of action combat depth. They are even using it in Skyrim now. Only pros dual wield two Keel Smashers.
I liked the bouncing off the walls feature a bit, but I never really had it happen to me. Though, I don't remember what weapon I used the most.
My favorite aspect of Demon's Souls, believe it or not, was when you were standing on steps, your feet would actually be on individual steeps, it wasn't just some ramp textured to look like steps.
I don't know why thats my favorite though.:?
