The entire Brumak model is way more detailed than it was in Gears one. In the screens below you can see things like the chains are now 3D instead of painted on illusions. That shot is even the PC version which is supose to be even more sharp and better looking than the 360 version and Gears of war 2 totally destroys it.

And now that we got a High res shot although a tad bit farther distance you can still see the detail Im talking about.

The main improvement in Gears 2 is the lighting and it looks a lot sharper than before (a lot like the PC version), those details you pointed out are also a nice addition. I wouldn't label it an improvement of colossal proportions though.

Well it isn't Killzone to Killzone 2, but I do think it's about as big a graphical improvement as you can expect from a sequel released only 2 years later. After seeing the new UE3 tech demos, I expected Gears 2 to look great, but I was still surprised by how good it looks. And we haven't even seen the destructability and soft body physics in action yet.

This is actually much more of a graphical upgrade than you usually see in same-gen sequels, because most of those kinds of sequels don't completely change the lighting model like Gears 2 is doing.

Having said that, Gears 2 PC will be godly.

In the end all I really care about the most is whether or not the game will be fun and from the looks of it Gears of War 2 looks like a hell of a lot of fun. So needless to say I'm excited about this game.

Actually, I see a huge improvement in scenery. The trees, and skyline and mountains look way better, as well as the ground they flew over had more "clutter" of trees and obviously baddies so add all that on top of the improved lighting and character models, i'd say it was a big improvment.

same here, though clear am a PS3 fan, i admit the vid shown was amazing and the overall textures and character design / animation has improved a lot... We still need to see some more actual in-game gameplay vids, but so far looks like Epic has done a great job... Goew1 was already great in its own, so its not an easy task to better many aspects of such a game in a sequel...

take it easy man, we didnt say its not footage from the xbox360 version, if its actually from the Xbox360 then good job to Epic... rest assured we cows dont fear Gear2, why should we... with upcoming titles such as MGSIV, Resistance2 & KZ2 there is nothing to fear on Xbox360..

I express my thoughts and trust me when criticising games i always tend to be objective and mature in comments... afterall its not me that posts the usual Gears2 > KZ2.... sometimes its really hard being objective though with all the crap i read against PS3 / its games... but thats another story..

No seriously, mabye they did, but I doubt the 360 couldn't handle that. I don't think they were talking bs when they said gears didn't max out the 360 (think they said they were using around 1/3rd of its power or summat, don't quote me on it though). TBH, I don't think gears 2 will either.

Uh? In the video it uses the 360 controller buttons. Its the 360.

Anyway Cliffy just announced there will be 5v5 multiplayer now. Im not sure how I feel about that cause it seemed 4v4 was the sweet spot, but we will see.
