Yep. Same here. Just too little known about the game at this point. Hopefully, it turns out cool.

this could be sony's answer to gears war with those 4 characters. Hope the delay made the devs added some 4 player co-op.

Who cares. 900pStation is 50% more powerful than 720pBox. I expected them to do better. Such a shame that a movie on a weaker platform is advanced than the movie on a stronger platform. Enjoy your next gen.

When am I getting even something to match Crysis 2?

According to steam a hell of allot more PC are barely over 720p in fact 24% is on 1366x768...hahaha Barely over 720p hell lower than 792p...lol

So PC is 720p box as well, just because some can run it higher doesn't mean all can,oh by the way the majority with 32% which is not far from the second which is 24% are 1080p,so the majority of PC gamers by steam play on 1080p or lower with a huge amount been almost 720p...

Butbutbut the 768pC...hahahaha

We have already gone over that topic multiple times. The important thing is majority of PC gamers have hardware more capable than 900pStation with GPU's ranging 570 and above which I already proved before and that thing will continue to improve couple that Steam doesn't always report the latest specs. :D

ANd you know something sir, 4K is goiing to become affordable....;)

@zeeshanhaider: calling the order a 800p game makes you look stupid! TROL!

I'm sorry, I don't remember calling it a game. I think I called it a movie. Remind me again what size its framebuffer is? Oh yeah....it's 800p.

The Order 1886 can't be defined as 800p.

1920 by 1080 - Full HD

2048 by 1080 - 2K

960 by 1080 - Half Full HD

Do you see how flawed that is?

yes, agreed.

addendum, if 792p is 1408x792, then why would 1920x800 be 800p?

800p would be 1422x800

If by CGI you mean covered by black, then I agree. I can't tell where the black bar end and where the actual rendered portion begins. And dumb **** every picture that is produced with the aid of computer is called CGI. CGI stands for Computer Generated Imagery. Yes, every game is technically CGI. :P

Isn't 800p 1280x800?, But then what defines the 'p'? Is it a 16x9 aspect ratio? If so, then it would be 1422x800. 1920x800 is the same as Widescreen Blu Ray I think. That was part of the plan. For the 'cinematic' experience. But I do think that 4xMSAA might be replaced with SMAA or FXAA. These systems just aren't strong enough to do much more than that. But why troll? But you're not only trolling, you are being an absolute twat. You also treat Crytek as the holy grail of gaming. Pretty dumb.

No, my dear friend. I don't consider Crytek as the holy grail of gaming. Well may be back in the time of Far Cry and Crysis but after Crysis 2 I have lost all faith in them. As a matter of fact many Crytek employees believe that too:

Tries to be Epic, Valve and Facebook, all at once. Fails miserably.”

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Frankfurt am Main (Germany)

I have been working at Crytek full-time for more than 8 years

Pros – Crytek used to be a nice place to work at, long, long time ago. Things were not perfect, but Far Cry & Crysis were great games made by great people. It was a time when taking risks and being bold were possible, a time when people were proud to work for Crytek.

Cons – The 3 Turkish owners seem to have abandoned the ship long time ago. No one really knows where the company's heading. Are they too busy driving their Ferraris? Or just overwhelmed and embarrassed by the monster they created? Where are they hiding?

The CEO seems to ignore what games are being developed in his studios or he's just being a very sloppy (self-proclaimed) creative director. Oh yeah, Crytek has a dozen of studios across the world (most of them in third world countries): that's the so-called "world domination"... There are like 1 billion projects developped at the same time. Focus level: 0%. Cancellation rate: 99%.

In Frankfurt, every single creative idea will be systematically ignored. Original projects pitched by capable people are regularly cancelled and teams are randomly shuffled. Instead, the company will now only work on generic f2p copies of existing games. Warface is the pinnacle of this new risk-averse strategy. Creativity level: 0%.

After the Ryse disaster, you might expect the company would rethink it's entire creative process, build a proper structure for reviewing projects and let people work on a project they could be proud of... You fool! You might at least expect better communication from upper management... Nope!

Results: the company is inexorably bleeding talents and cannot recruit senior staff. The Crytek I used to know is nearly dead, replaced by some giant soulless f2p factory.

Advice to Senior Management – Restart the whole thing? Sell? Fire half the staff and keep the members who can actually make a great game? Ask your employees how to improve the company?

Does it even matter anymore?

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Source

I only appreciate Crytek for their technical capabilities, and rightfully so. What other company pioneered so many rendering techniques in the last years as them. They are usually the ones to push the envelope. Go and read their reserach papers and presentations which the constantly gives. They constantly writes for the leading books on rendering technologies and they usually share the methods on how to overcome the problems that they had faced when they were developing something or the problems that the industry is facing currently not just bragging about what they have.

I work with their Engine regularly and a member of their dev forum. I know what happens there. Their engine is a difficult one granted. But is one fine piece of technology. There's nothing out there that matches its rendering capabilities if you know how to work with it though it has a very steep learning curve compare to other engines.
