[QUOTE="Redfingers"][QUOTE="swaginator"][QUOTE="Redfingers"]Problems with your post:
In the beginning, there was installed base. With an attractive pricing and feature arrangement, consoles get sold. When consoles get sold, developers eyes light up with dollar signs and come-'a-knocking. When the happens, we get all those games and then some, presumably.
So everything begins with the value assessment.
Additionally, as I said, HD movie playback is included with the console, meaning you are not limited to games software in order to experience your PS3.
Additionally, last time I checked, the Playstation 3 has more games lined up this year and more games announced in 2008 than the Xbox 360. When's the last time you saw Lair, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, and Warhawk? Because you CLEARLY need to, and immediately.
I envy in some ways 360 games, but I do not envy the 360 lineup.

Ok and where is the value for those of us who wouldn't use those features?
Don't look to hard for it, because it isn't there. Like I said, if you NEED the Core SKU, and nothing else, no online gaming (therefore no Wi-Fi, etc), no HDTV, etc, pony up $340 and enjoy your (admittedly, toned down) experience and leave the rest of us alone.
I'm not the one making rediculous posts about gamers needing this and that with there game consoles. People buy consoles to play games first and foremost. I think you should just stop now. The Xbox 360 isn't trying to match PS3 feature for feature otherwise microsoft would have released it with all those features. The Xbox 360 offers something much better than features, GAMES. Yeah i said it, the Xbox 360 offers games. The only reason to buy a "Videogame console". I think you should leave us all alone with your redicilously ignorant opinion on value to a gamer.
I didn't say you needed anything. I've conceded you need nothing twice already. What do you want from me? This argument doesn't apply to you. I even tailored one specifically for you (you're missing HD gaming and online gaming, etc), and then you completely ignored it.
I'm not forcing anything on you, you're attempting to invalidate my claims with something that doesn't even apply.
Games, games, games! Remember when I invalidated that argument? In summation, there are perfectly good reasons to purchase a PS3 based solely off your interest in games. Period.
