Don't bother with consolites... They think Mass Effect 2 is a great RPG because it's the closest thing they get to a real RPG. Good shooter with some role-playing dialogue yeah, but on the level of The Witcher or Dragone Age: Origins (PC version only)? No.oldkingallant
I don't think Mass Effect 2 is a great RPG. I think it's a much better game than The Witcher though.
Looks good. Glad I just upgraded to the Q8400 (yea I know socket 775 is outdated). Looks like I need to buy that extra RAM afterall. GTS 250 looks like its going to struggle. Guess I'll save up for a mainstream card when it comes out. LOL I've been meaning to build a new PC for the last year but I've just been so broke.

I hated Gothic 4. Gothic 1 & 2 were masterpieces. Gothic 3 was in the middle.

to be honest i would agree with you on gothic 4, it's good but not as good as the others, two worlds 2 on the other hand has overtaken oblivion as my fave RPG, but when i saw thos witcher 2 shots and after looking up some info on the game i may have to move from being a console only gamer to being a console/PC gamer, it wasn't worth building a gaming rig until now.to be honest i would agree with you on gothic 4, it's good but not as good as the others, two worlds 2 on the other hand has overtaken oblivion as my fave RPG, but when i saw thos witcher 2 shots and after looking up some info on the game i may have to move from being a console only gamer to being a console/PC gamer, it wasn't worth building a gaming rig until now.delta3074

i hope so and i do hope it comes to consoles as well, i am primarily a console gamer and good RPG's are very few and far between, i will get it for PC anyway if there isn't a console release but it would be cheaper for me if there was, lolto be honest i would agree with you on gothic 4, it's good but not as good as the others, two worlds 2 on the other hand has overtaken oblivion as my fave RPG, but when i saw thos witcher 2 shots and after looking up some info on the game i may have to move from being a console only gamer to being a console/PC gamer, it wasn't worth building a gaming rig until now. I'll tell you what's wrong with Oblivion.
Level Scaling
Cut and paste dungeons
10 voice actors throughout the whole game
Horrible story that also lasted a few measly hours
Horrible Voice acting(except for a few)
Same boring landscape cut and pasted
DLC that was completely unneeded (Horse armor anyone?)
Bad to mediocre writing
no factions and very few meaningful side quests
Bad AI
Psychic guards
Psychic shopkeepers (I won't buy that, you stole it. Really?)
and I'm sure I could go on...

Actually, it's interesting that you said that, because this guy said the same thing: http://www.gamespot.com/forums/topic/27928977/who-from-oblivion-do-you-want-to-see-again-in-skyrim?page=5
And I asked him to elaborate and he never did. I wonder why...
Did The Witcher have any of those problems? How about Baldur's Gate? Baldur's Gate 2? Gothic 1 and 2? Risen(PC version)?
I could see bad AI and bad voice acting... but why don't you explain how these RPG's have these other problems.

No it doesn't. The Witcher's main quest is like 30 - 40 hours long. Oblivion's main quest is like 7 hours, if that.Oblivion was a very broken game.
It gave me many good laughs I'll give it that, but what a mess of a game.

So if you haven't experienced it, you are not a proper critic to compare quests between games.Only good quests in Oblivion were the painting (when you go inside it, man that was trippy) one, and the Dark Brotherhood. The rest of the game was pretty meh imo. The mainquest was so bad  Go through endless Oblivion gates over and over, just terrible.

I played through half the game(the cemetery). Not one memorable quest. I don't see how an RPG where the first half of the game is bad(assuming the other half is better) can be a good RPG.

There are 5 chapters and the grave yard starts in chapter 2.
Also, I don't see how an RPG that is 90% bad can be considered a good RPG like Oblivion. ;)

They're about the same. The difference is, you can actually play Oblivion differently based on your class(like a real RPG).
