everytime someone compares zelda to elder scrolls, i hit my head on the desk

And everytime I hear someone saying that "Bethesda/Bioware is better off developing the new Zelda" I feel like throwing up :?

this is wind waker all over again lmao.

on a serious note ,It actaully looks better then the last trailer :O
Half-Way
lol yep. Wind Waker (IMO) > Twilight Princess
ALthough both are great games, I feel WW is superior and the initial reaction was quite mixed and negative in areas, while everyone loved TP and thought it would be the best Zelda ever (myself included), only to find out, it was my least favorite 3D zelda, although again, still amazing :P.
[QUOTE="Sp4rtan_3"]Its sad how the haters are bashing a GDC teaser  E3 is right around the corner do you really think Nintendo is going to show its hand at GDC  ? Yes, because any critisism made is because we all hate nintendo. Zelda as a whole gets criticized for just about everything it does actually. Fans are never satisfied. Cel Shaded artstyle? Everybody wants realistic. Realistic artstyle? Everybody falls in love with cel-shaded. Whenever they change people blow a ****storm, and whenever they stay the same fans complain again. Zelda gets a lot of love because its Zelda, and at the same time it gets a lot of hate because its Zelda.[QUOTE="Sandvichman"][QUOTE="789shadow"]Yes, because any critisism made is because we all hate nintendo. I am a fan and so far so good with me ;). Honestly the worst design choice I have seen in any Zelda game (besides the CD-i ones and Link's Adventure) is the touch controls in PH and ST, and I still really enjoyed PH (yet to play ST).

I guess this is based on fanboy comments and speculation right? I love generalizing statements without and sources to back it up.I love how people are allowed to say how great it looks, but saying it looks mediocre means if have this deep hate for nintendo.
It's the Nintendo defender mantra: if someone criticizes Nintendo, something about them undoubtedly invalidates their opinion.I love how people are allowed to say how great it looks, but saying it looks mediocre means if have this deep hate for nintendo.

Yeah like my avatar and sig. I liked WW more than TP but this trailer looks underwhelming.
Why don't the graphics look any better ? It looks exactly like Twilight Princess. I thought there would be some graphical improvement since then...Neither Wii Zelda looks half as good as Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2....Why is that ?Slimmin360
Really? IMO it looks noticeably better than Galaxy 1 and 2. Technically, it is probably the best Wii game (no surprise, it is Zelda).
Although, I love this artsyIe. It is working very well.

Sandvichman
Wait, you don't?
You're right that saying something bad about zelda, the trailer or nintendo doesn't mean you are a bias fool who hates nintendo. There are ninty fans in this very thread that are joining the "meh trailer" wagon. And honestly, just because you do hate nintendo(come on, admit it) doesn't mean your points are invalidated.
I've already said it, but most of what we saw in the trailer we've known since last e3(this game is going to be based around motion plus for its combat). I personally want to know more about the game. I want to have some stronger hints at the story, see more about other aspects of the game(npc and maybe interactions with them) and have them presented in an exciting way. Anywho, i'll just hope that the reason the zelda team put out such a brief trailer(with little effort it seems) means that they are focusing their resources on making the game far more awesome :)
maybe if said haters weren't the same few posters that constantly criticize everything nintendo related these days, they're criticism would hold more weight.I love how people are allowed to say how great it looks, but saying it looks mediocre means if have this deep hate for nintendo.

I guess this is based on fanboy comments and speculation right? I love generalizing statements without and sources to back it up.Well, yes, most of the times fanboys have this argument "Nintendo, games for the kids and soccer moms" and they don't even give the game a chance, examples, Wii Sports (great series), SMG, NSMBW, Kirby's Epic Yarn, etc.
So yes, this kind of people usually hates Nintendo just because it's Nintendo.
Still waiting for some interview about the trailer...You would think someone wants to talk to Ninty about it.
Whats with everyone defending the game by saying the combat looks good? The combat looks amazing, if your a monkey or even worse a casual. Every enemy they show is just a stereotypical slash this way, no horizonal, oh look this ones vertical. Nothing looks improved if anything its looks slower because they're trying to make all the enemies seem "clever". But no this post is either going to be ignored or people are just going to say "he said something negative, hes a hater" even though Zelda is my favorite franchise of all time. And its not just this trailer that sucks, even the E3 trailer was bad which is a shame because Zelda always has the best trailers.
Yeah, everyone loved the wind waker trailer when it was first revealed right? oh wait...Whats with everyone defending the game by saying the combat looks good? Legend of Zelda? More like Legend of CELda LOLZ!
Looks Like a step in the right direction. I'll buy it. I really do hope has next gen graphics in the next gen though. Cheap o's to afraid to move forward cost wise.caseypayne69
implying wind waker dosent look better then twilight princess, by todays standards
The real crime is that when nintendo releases the Wii2 with HD graphics on par with the PS3 and they finally get Zelda, Metroid, Mario and co. in HD they are going to act like it's brand new and Nintendo invented it. Only because we had to put up with this "last gen" look w new controls on the Wii for so long.
(This is currently happening with the 3DS.)
Looks amazing. Nintendo did it again.The_RedLionWhat exactly qualifies as "amazing?" What's the standard here? Ignoring everything else on the market are we?
Zelda just keeps getting better and better, now Nintendo have made the enemies like mini puzzles, I like the skeleton with the swords you have to use the Wii mote to hit his weak spots as he changes the swords into different block stance's
Well everything is looking good and another top notch perfectly designed Nintendo game with more gameplay and innovation than all games released this year
I'm pretty sure at this point the only thing it takes to excite zelda fans is to see link doing the same old sh*t he's always done over and over again. That's really all it takes. Even the much touted "art style" fails to do anything we haven't seen in the previous games and no doing a mish mash of two games is not a new art style. Grown up link meets cell shaded boy link? OMG How did Nintendo come up with that one?Bread_or_Decide
Too bad that's not true. The main focus were motion controls, yet you say that is the same old, same old for Zelda? They also showed off a variety of different puzzles, a few new bosses that play differently thanks to the motion control, new combat system, some new meters in the hub, some new items, and possibly a new Villain that FYI, isn't Ganon.
The artstyIe, while seemingly a mixture between WW and TP, is actually inspired by impressionist art.

The motion controls look simple. Hardly the 1 to 1 fantasy they've been selling since launch day. Different puzzles? Nothing we haven't seen in other games. New bosses? Ok. New combat system? Vertical slash...horizontal slash...yeah. It's new all right. And looks tedious and uninspired. New meters in hub? Oh boy. New items...mmmm...like the master sword? New villian? How about a new story? I'd eat my hat for some talking villagers.[QUOTE="AmayaPapaya"][QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"]I'm pretty sure at this point the only thing it takes to excite zelda fans is to see link doing the same old sh*t he's always done over and over again. We havent seen almost anything outside of slashing, and a bit of dungeon, which IMO is the less significant side of Zelda. People love to bash Zelda for not changing, but it changes just as much as almost any other series.

Combat looks great. It wasn't terribly fast, but i think that was mostly to show the effect of the gameplay. When link forced that spider to stand up and reveal its tummy jewel, he couldn't stabbed at it much faster, for instance. As for the 1:1, that amazingly quick and fluid bamboo slash up looked pretty darn impressive.

I could be wrong, but alot of the nintendo fans that remain here(and it really is few people) have not been saying that HD graphics aren't great. Just that a game can still be great even if it lacks this. I know, for me personally, i'd love to play mario galaxy in HD rather then 480p. But honestly, Galaxy is phenominal regardless.
Why are you so bitter sounding? If anyone is stupid enough to think ninty invented HD, they are going to be laughed at. It'll make for another epic system wars moment!
