Realistically, that colour scheme is closer to the gifs you posted than the unaltered ones are.
Let me ask you something.
Does Shadow of the Colossus look dull and boring?

Why? Because you don't like it? Please

Well the sky has color and the people have different skin tones. Is it a problem that there's no greenfooliage or bright colored objects? I mean they are on another planet, not on a tropical island in the Caribbean. I never understood this whole complaint about color for either Gears or Killzone. They're on a gritty battlefield... WTH do you expect to see? Pink grenades, purple people, and yellow buildings? I doubt people are saying the war on Iraq looks fake. Too monotone. Everything looks like sand...
Lol, people love to confuse a want of colour with wanting out of place or stupid colours. I simply like variety, not grey, grey blue, shades of other montone colour everywhere. I have never attacked KZ2's art, I have said I think its boring and plain (which to me it is). They have this entire concept of wasteland and battlefield and all they can come up with is montone? Not being on earth is an excuse for there beingplain andbland with monotonecolour? (what the hell, you can have no colour on earth if you want to, what a **** excuse). I have never made the statement that the game needs hundreds of vibrant colours or to look like Banjo 3 here. I'm simply saying the, rusted browns, dingy greys and dim ass lighting is played out and boring. Forgive me if that offends. Here, let me call Ironbass and work on our alter to Killzone 3 now. I'll make sure to praise da epic and uniques snow too!!11!!!! Christ, and people wonder . . .
No one asked you too or told you to worship Killzone 2 or agree with my opinion, but you are one of those that believe and openly discuss the fact that Killzone and Gears lack "color". If you have played(or played without previous bias) Killzone you would know that what you wrote(highlighted) isn't all that is seen in the game color wise and far from it. You also state that it's getting played out, but to my knowledge VERY few games actually use that art styles and it happened to be 2 huge blockbusters KZ and Gears and maybe a couple of others. So how is this style being played out? Not liking the art syle is one thing, but to say it lacks color and is played out in complete BS IMO.

Does Shadow of the Colossus looks dull and boring?
this is an off topic question. The answer is no, probably because a) it isn't an fps doing the same damn thing as every other fps and b) because it has amazing creature design and scale/

Funny tho how I get called a "fanboy" and "hater" for not liking KZ's graphics

[QUOTE="mitu123"] It will look better, but not destroy them, with Gears 3 coming out.
BTW, KZ3 needs better textures and be less jaggy, use real AA and not that QAA.
mitu123
Also the game has excellent textures. I could post pics, but I just don't have the patience. If KZ2 disappointed you regarding those two visual aspects, then 90% of games you play on 360 & PS3 should really disappoint!
The one visual drawback I believe KZ2 suffered from is the narrow FOV. It was fine for me, but I know it was a hindrance to many people. Here's to hoping it's increased :).
I prefer the other kinds, to me QAA isn't all that, then again, I'm picky.:PDude, KZ2 looks smooth as a baby's bum. Of course not as smooth as a PC game with the option for 8XAA. I can't take you seriously with a comment like that and those that haven't played the game will be mislead into believing it. And actually KZ2 used MSAA Quincunx.[QUOTE="mitu123"]

QAA is real AA. It's just a special kind of MSAA.Episode_Eve

That's the problem, 2xAA is better. As for textures, it didn't, but not all textures were equally great looking, even reviewers like Gametrailers notice that not all the textures were consistent in quality, but it's pretty minor. That's the problem, 2xAA is better. KZ artsty1e is really among the best here. Reminds me of the work of Viktor Antonov for Half-Life 2 that was sadly mostly scrapped. And that guy just r u l e s. I wish more games went for the 20th centrury art-deco and industrial themes.
Are there any in-game shots yet?
SpruceCaboose
Have to wait a bit. Most of the shots released are in-engine rather than in-game judging by their resolution and AA.

Eh. Ok. Not sure if I am looking forward to KZ3 or not yet. Hard call for me.[QUOTE="SapSacPrime"]
Screens don't do KZ2 justice anyway it needs to be moving, Im sure this will be exactly the same.
Rikusaki
Yeah. Killzone 2 is one of those games that only looks great in motion.
yes, reviewers from major gaming sites like Gamespot and IGN have seen them and written articles based on them :PAre there any in-game shots yet?
SpruceCaboose
Looks promising, and if GG will keep their promises and have a sp campaign with a better story, larger areas and more variety in locations then we're in for a nice treat once the game gets released :)

oh..... what? But when it comes to matter, gray is a color because it reflects light from an external source. You can mix some black paint into white and you get gray because it's reflecting light, just not as intense as before.
kinda harsh right there.. Character models look astounding.Meh... I wish developers with this much technical talent would do more than just another brainless shooter.

Oh I see what you're saying now...I'm getting a bit tired of the "color whores" who think that Helghan should look like Cancún instead of a bleak, wartorn hellscape.
You people do know that Killzone 2 is on Helghan right? Even the original had more color, but that took place on Earth.
mitu123
On Vekta actually.

Why do I keep thinking of that? Then again, haven't played it in years or remember a lot either. Can't say I'm excited. Killzone 2 was a pretty bad game. Good graphics yes, but generic gameplay and story.

Have you tried the multiplayer? That's the best part of the game.
Yeah, don't worry, it's totally "generic", but Modern Warfare, Halo, Battlefield, are compellingly unique, original and innovative in terms of gameplay.[QUOTE="Cyberfairy"]
