I remember the 2009 Crysis vs Killzone 2 thread where it got out of hand.XD And there was a Crysis 2 vs Killzone 3 one from what I remember. Now it's Crysis 3 vs KIllzone: Shadow Fall. Oh man this place sometimes...glad to know SW hasn't changed in 6 years

[QUOTE="kalipekona"][QUOTE="killzowned24"] From the same guys who made one of the lowest resolution games this gen :lol:killzowned24
Yeah, but it's also one of the most amazing looking games this gen. Sure, the 360 wasn't powerful enough to run it at full 720p resolution, but that is because of everything it is doing. It still has some of the best lighting I have seen in a game. The PC version looks amazing.
It's far from the best when needed to drop to 540p  Uncharted takes a huge dump on Alan Wake in graphics /lighting and runs in HD.I'm just saying that it is a pretty advanced engine in terms of geometry, lighting and effects and that is why there had to be compromises on the 360. I think Uncharted is a fantastic series with really great graphics, but I don't think in terms of lighting it really beats Alan Wake. I noticed more areas with baked in shadows and lights that didn't cast shadows from the player character and NPCs in Uncharted than in Alan Wake.

Dude, I lived around 2000 miles from the equator for the vast majority of my life in what would be classified as a subtropical area, I've been in actual deserts in summer during high noon multiple times, and I've traveled as close as 1000 miles to the equator, I know something about sunlight and it doesn't look like that.
StrongBlackVine
Yeah it does. Bright sunlight can definitely produce a similar kind of a scene. I've seen it with my own eyes. I've traveled to tropical countries several times and I, too, live in a sub-tropical desert area.
I think you are just being overly critical of Crysis and not critical enough of Killzone Shadow Fall. They are both clearly very good looking games, but some people are overhyping KZSF again just like they do with most Sony exclusives.
Keep playing your great graphics while we play great overall games.
Crysis Metacritic Score- 91/100
Crysis PC GS score- 9.5
What was that?
look at all those haters bahahha...:lol:
bbut my crysis is better lookingon my 2000 dollar machine..:lol:

LOL so you have to go back to a game from 2007. I guess was great back then, but it went downhill with each sequel. Can only imagine how shit Crysis 4 will be outside of the visuals...

There is nothing about Crysis that makes the game play exactly stand out. Its a decent shooter with some cool power suit mechanics. If it had come out with normal graphics back then, I guarantee you it would never have made AAAE status. But those graphics were so off the charts freaking amazing that even if you gave us alien colonial marines back then with those graphics, it would have gotten atleast an 8.5 on graphics alone.LOL so you have to go back to a game from 2007. Its a bit silly to relly on the review of a single site. Metacritic is more reliable since it shows the average of both site reviews and gamers reviews.
The Last of Us is a great experience, and the MP is actually very good!
MS just needs to stop buying and destroying studios, and create a good 4 or 5 fixed studios with talented developers.
MS also needs to risk a bit more in new IPs, take some chances! Dont stick to whats safe, safe gets boring quickly.

You can't change the SW rules, your opinion is invalid.Jesus those character models are really insanely good looking. Absolutely craps on anything in Crysis 3.gpuking

This clearly looks at least 6 and a half times better than Killzone Shadow Fall. Once again (repetitive) pc keeps on winning.
At this point, it's like a puppy getting beaten. It's just cruel.

Again, it's always all about the character models with you guys. It's like that's all you look at in a game. I guess I could make a game with amazing character models and put them in a plain room and you guys would still be calling that game graphics king (well, as long as it was exclusive to a Playstation console).
These character models don't crap on those in Crysis 3 in any case. Especially when you compare actual screenshots from the characters within the game environments. These KZSF character shots are using much higher quality lighting and shadows than you will see in the game during gameplay. I absolutely guarantee it.
The face looks good but the skin shaders are not as advanced. Also the rest of the body textures are awful in comparison to KZ's.gpukingPeople can blame consoles for holding back the visuals in multiplats. Next gen multiplats will look amazing on PC...

Cutscene models. All the cutscenes in Crysis 3 are realtime, try again, dumb dumb. And C3 just don't have Psycho. ;) And no in game enemy models in KZ:SF is 40K. I have now seen the GG's presentation slides, they never said anything about enemy models, you deliberately lied, now I won't believe anything you say untill I recheck it my self. And oh, KZ:SF has no realtime GI, cry more, hell the things they showed in slides Crytek did it 10 times better and before them and actually the ones who pioneered them. GG just followed along. ;)

They aren't in game models. If they really want to compare thenn Crysis 3 models stand on their own but take the models from Crytek's presentations and they really look out of the world.
Standalone models in the renderer of the 3D modeling software always look better.

They did a live stage presentation and they specifically referred 40k tris to this Helghast model. At14:40 mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JVihWUoOG8[QUOTE="gpuking"]Jesus those character models are really insanely good looking. Absolutely craps on anything in Crysis 3.kalipekona

Given that is what the thread is about, why should we be debating anything but the character models?
