[QUOTE="sparkypants"][QUOTE="silentobi"] This. I mean does he really think that the 360 can't pull of that. :(

mitu123

If they could, then why didn't they?

Because they didn't want to?

I guess that was a mistake on their part then, cause the 360 model looks completely stupid. It's like she weighed several pounds more. Maybe they didn't do it as well as they should have, maybe they were running on time - though i don't think that the 360 can't support graphics like that - it sure was a mistake not to put more time into characters like how Sigma 2 seems to be doing.

Good things come to those who wait. Sigma 2 is shaping up to be a very nice game. Everything that Ninja Gaiden 2 should have been. Itagaki is such an idiot. It's amazing how his "subordinates" always seem to outdo his original games. Im glad he is no longer with Tecmo. Company is better off without him.

[QUOTE="punkrocker163"][QUOTE="-RocBoys9489-"]No Gore in Sigma 2 = Fail. Ninja Gaiden 2 sucked compared to the first anyway. It was like RE5 compared to RE4. Stop hyping Sigma 2.-RocBoys9489-

This is the poorest excuse people have. Look how poorly NG2 ran because of gore. it played like a slideshow at times and was embarassing and i even wonder if it went through testing. Look how much smoother Sigma 2 looks in comparison.

Fail. NG2 NEVER played like a slideshow except at one part in the game (where you go up the stairs with DOZENS of enemies infront of you to kill) NG2 was trash compared to NG1, as was RE5 compared to RE4. So please, STOP HYPING SIGMA 2. And yes, gore was one of the few strong points to NG2. Gears 2 would never be the same without its infamous gore.

Edit: Just thought I'd dish out the ownage ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o34ZgIe-rp0

The stair fight won't even be in Sigma 2

And how is that fight not going to be in Sigma 2? Sure that terrible slowdown won't be there. I swear the DC in this thread is hilarious. Imagine that fight actually running smootly and not like your fighting in water.

Exactly. even if that fight isnt in the game anymore there is a lot more to look foward too.

Wow I haven't posted on here in months but I couldnt help myself with this one, I was floating around the net when I saw this.

On the left is Ayane for the PS3's Sigma. On the Right is Ayane from the 360. This sort of change is big! It really shows what the PS3 can do in comparison to the 360. I thought this would lead into an interesting disgussion so go!

sparkypants
Not going to get any further involved in this guys, but the two screengrabs of Ayane are not a valid comparison for a few reasons: 1. NG2 Ayane is only in the game for two minutes or less. The lighting is that way because it's a foggy night in the Hayabusa Village because volcanic ash is coating everything when Mt. Fuji erupts. If you play the game, you will see what I mean. 360 Ayane looked fine in that scene. It's the way Itagaki planned her to be because she's younger than she is in DOA. 2. Sigma 2 Ayane screen looks to be from a FMV trailer released when Sigma 2 was first revealed. It's also captured when Ayane is on her night time stage in Venice, where there is no ashy fog effect. It's clearer and more colorful only for that reason. 3. That NG2 Ayane was from in-game footage. NG2 uses no CG's other than the final credit's staff roll. Please use images in the proper context when making these comparisons. Once Sigma 2 is out, then this will be much easier to do with similar footage from each game. I will be back to see the interesting results then. I suspect lack of AA is going to be an issue, despite the fact that Sigma 2 got 15 more months of development time.

Btw some of you should try using gameplay footage to support your points: Having body parts flying around that don't disappear, with blood effects that coat the stages completely, is a useful factor in the original game's favor no matter what. Sigma 2 runs at 720P. But so did Sigma 1 and NG2 was universally regarded as far more technically demanding than that. I'm wondering what the trade off was for the Sigma 2 resolution increase because NG2 had a lot going on. With more gameplay footage in the coming weeks, we'll know. I suspect a reduction in the number of enemies on screen for Sigma 2 could be it. Slowdown is still a question mark for Sigma 2, because some vids have it with just a few enemies on screen and some don't. The little bit of co-op mission footage looked good, but some chapter 1 Ryu footage looked bad. If NGS2 was pushing everything pixel for pixel that NG2 is, and running it at a higher res with 2xAA and all the extras, then it would be an undeniable a case of OWNED for the PS3 over the 360. But it's not. There have been compromises made in Sigma 2 and they're clearly known even with little gameplay footage of it available right now. Let's see how things shape up when both final versions are able to be put side by side on the same setup. Enjoy your ever changing and never ending system war fellas. ;)

You mean the time used to take full advantage of the hardware and optimization for a different architecture instead of rushing a Lame port from Xbox360 to Ps3? I couldn't agree more.

Coming out early really means very little when a game is clearly rushed and lacking content. The definitive version is the Ps3's NGS you can choose the version available for the system you own, earlier or not, the truth is the same the Ps3 version will be better and the added content does compensate for the wait this is far more than only a remake. Ayane alone has already caused an outrage, thats a serious fanservice that wont be available in any other version.

A ninja game with purple blood is just completely stupid, I dare any other ninja game to come out with purple blood and not get trashed. It's not canon shown clearly in NG2, ninja are made of flesh and blood. Itagaki would've never allowed that to happen.

bad_fur_day

There still is blood in NGS2 :| It's just not as over-the-top as NG2 was.

PS3 version will obviously be better. They've put a lot more polish into it. Good thing I didn't pick up the 360 version.pyromaniac223
this. too bad about the blood & gore, though. I hear they had to reduce it to keep the frame rates up. as long as the Sigma 2 camera is fixed, most people will be happy. but if that still sucks...

too bad that version was broken with sloppy camera angles, graphical problems (read reviews), unbalanced difficulty, only one playable character, and no co-op mode. Just like 99% of the people who bought the game, I'm pretty sure you didn't beat it.

I can: better exclusive developers. with either more talent, more time, or bigger budgets. perhaps all 3 in some cases. I think it's still a bit cheesy to be holding onto "teh Cell will show them all one day!" and "X hardware is teh superior!" type viewpoints. We have an entire generation of evidence that shows us they're equivalent in virtually all meaningful measures. with some slightly different pros and cons here and there. that old religion should have died years ago. perhaps still alive in the hearts of a few posters...and a few Sony corporate execs. *cough*

If I may: 1.) the camera angles were the biggest issue with NG2. In fact, if that had been fixed, most of people's complaints would have subsided. but the difficulty + questionable camera adjustments caused problems. 2.) the graphical problems were pretty few and far between, IIRC. the only felonious moment was towards the end, running up the stairs. there was a bizarre slow-down effect. other than that, it was pretty manageable, considering. 3.) difficulty in and of itself isn't an issue. if it's too hard, change the difficulty setting until you get better. the issue here was how it felt cheap because the camera angles caused you to sometimes take damage from people you couldn't see attacking you. 4.) nobody cares about playing as other characters. it's like talking about playing Metal Gear Solid and complaining you can only play as Snake. You can complain...but really? 5.) Didn't need co-op mode. just like DMC and most serious action titles this gen. It'd be interesting to have, but far from something to list as a "shortcoming". I don't think anyone who picked up NG2, NG, NG Black or NG Sigma cared about anything like that. 6.) I beat it. Was irritating at times, but far from impossible. anyone who beat NG1 shouldn't have a lot of trouble with NG2. IMO, anyway.

guess PS3 only gamers will be happy to see a multiplat look better on their system.. usually its always the other way round :)

Honestly i've never been a huge NG fan, i managed to play NGS1 (good game) but avoided getting NG2for my 360 (it had many issues back then).. I'll probably pass too on buying NGS2 and wait till my friend finishes the game and lends it to me so i can try it..

Thanks for your reply.

You know what, shooting games don't necessarily NEED co-op (ex. Bioshock), but it's there to enhance gameplay, and lasting appeal. Do people want it? YES.

Same thing with the characters. Speak for yourself if you don't care about them, but I'm pretty sure most people do, especially with the fan-favorite ayane. They are there to add to the gameplay.

Did people care about playing as Virgil in DMC3? Hell yes! And hmmm, you brought up MGS4. Where you aware that there are plenty of fans that wanted to play as Raiden? (Cyborg Ninja Version). Why else do you think they're coming out with a Raiden game :|
