Nintendo blew it with SSBB online mode

Why would Nintendo release there biggest Multiplayer game of the year with....

No Voice Chat (If Nintendo were smart they would release the Wii's headset with SSBB)

No Leaderboards

No Win/Loss record

Friend Codes

The Lobby looks exactly like Pokemon BR's Online mode which sucked.

SSBB lobby has 2 icons

You can't even see your opponents name!! Online. Who in the hell would do that.

I guess it takes Sony or Microsoft to create a good Online game

I'm tempted to check people's posting histories to see if they were clamoring about "SSBB has no online!", but I don't care that much.

(Sides, clearly some people don't even know why SSB is fun at all)

This is old news, and yes, it sucks. But imagine if online was never announced....people wouldnt think any less of the game. So I try to think of it as alittle extra thing for the game. Still, Nintendo needs to takes it's head out of it's butt and release a headset. :x

Well atleast it has online, that would have been a huge mistake not to include it. But the voice chat could be added later.

But I agree, Nintendo isn't taking online play very seriously. SSBB would have been the perfect game to really get it off the ground.

I think you're reaching a bit too far into the future. For all we know, Nintendo is going to come out with that 'WiiHD + full online' next time and still make tanker-loads of money. That or World War 3 ends all as we know it...

no s/u u nintendo fanboy. playstation 2 didnt have very great online play but then when they made the ps3 with psn it wasnt better than xbox live but it is competition. now the wii virtual console is cool and all but their online play cant compete worth a crap compared to live and psn. nintendo should have brought fourth HD capabilities and a superior online experience this generation and they failed to do so. and by now its too late to compete with 360 and PS3

Only your friends that you have to register have usernames that visible but in random play they're not. Thats stupid

Ok, I'm not agreeing with all the TC said, but how is "Nintendo is just getting started with online" a valid excuse? Online play has been around for many years now... why do they get to start at the beginning? Plus, the GC had (some) online, and the DS has been online for a while now...

r u kidding me in online there is no competition. but i guess ur talking about general sales then yeah its winning but not for long. this xmas most likely Wii will not be the top seller becuase of 360's blockbuster 2007 holiday line up and PS3's big 2008 year. at the rate of games siding with playstation and xbox, nintendo seems left behind so there sales will not stay sharp forever

i love their old consoles i really do but the wii has been getting so much attention and they have lost their old hardcore game ways and basically made something for every1 which is not what previous gaming has been about. and thats all the gaming we have learned to know and love and nintendo is ruining that.

ps3 - same cept for halo3 and mass effect and they prolly have more titles comming out but im not totaly firmiliar with the ps3

Everything has to change sooner of later kiddo, the original xbox was an enourmous casual magnet with its Halo. That alone 4ever changed gaming, most would say for the worst. You and I know that Nintendo's "Wii-fit" campaign won't have parents gaming along side their kids. They are a company and see a relatively untapped market, a fool would pass it up.
