All I needed to know is when the hell FE:F gets released here in europe. Dont care about anything else.

Release date is right around the time school finishes for the year.

Do we know if they are doing another digital event this year? If the NX is being revealed I would think they would want an audience

Can't agree with you on this one just based on what I've seen. It's just too over the top and Jpop for me. It's a style I just can't stand, and this is from someone that loves Persona and SMT.

Nintendo workers were absolutely laughing last year. I'm sure even these directs are the butt of jokes at the water cooler.

Ya it is very Jpop, maybe the tried to make it upbeat because they were using the fire emblem characters in the story. I'm still interested in how they will handle it, but I doubt it will be as good as any persona game including 5

I thought the Direct was really good. I was happy to hear about everything except for one. You already know what that one is. I won't hate on it because I actually enjoyed the previous game unlike the entire internet and they only showed off 30 seconds, so let's not be so conclusive just yet (that division of fanboys will do whatever). That game is just Federation Force all over again. However, they have shown that FF can be fun and possibly really good, and I think they will do it for that game too except it will be 10x harder.

@thendefender: ehhhh, I dont think it was really as bad as some people thought it was, but I dont think it was good either. It was serviceable and hopefully Nintendo are saving their biggest announcements for NX and E3

@aigis: Absolutely agree. This direct will get rid of a few itches, but at least that game won't be at E3, so it won't be a major let down like FF was at E3 last year. You do know what game I'm talking about right?

Edit: As in it was a very good thing it wasn't announced at E3.

Everyone who says this direct was bad, is just being a hater, there is no way Nintendo would drop a megaton in a Direct, they are just announcing a few good stuff for the rest of the year without going crazy on the reveals.

I don't think it was great either, but i liked what i saw with Star Fox, Paper Mario and Kirby, also even more tools for Super Mario Maker? that thing is getting so wild now, is trully the endless game.

So yeah, nothing spectacular but solid in content.

To be expected for a system that will be drop soon, the games they've mention for Wii U has already been mention before in previous Directs...just waiting for release dates..for them. :P

Fair enough, i definitely give you this one...Metroid Prime Federation Ball looks really, really bad.

And i'm not talking about the graphics, to be fair that screenshoot is bad and the game doesn't look quite like that, sure they aren't that great either but the fact that something like this is running in the 3DS is kind of impressive if the game is as big as it seems, however the game just doesn't feel right, whether it is the art style, the gameplay...something is just not right, this was definitely the lowest point of the entire Direct.

@madsnakehhh: Ehhh suit yourself, let's just see how it feels when people play it. Andre from Gamexplain feels like he needs more hands on time with it to distinguish how the overall game feels.

Not a matter of pessimism, just of taste. Although if you're looking to never be disappointed but only ever pleasantly surprised, it's not a bad philosophy to hold.

It seems to me that Nintendo is currently lost and don't know what gamers want. Why is it so hard to build a Pokemon RPG (with some light MMO mechanics) on a WiiU/NX (especially if the game is crossplatform between the two) that allows you to trade and fight other players? Why are those fuckers taking decades to release a proper Metroid game? I don't even like nor care about Pokemon but its a common sense that it'd sell a ton even if the game isn't that great. Are they blind? Is it too difficult to build a game like that in 720p? What's wrong with this company!? Why are they spamming 3DS Monster Hunter titles when they have a console as well?

Lol, Nintendo is not lost, they are doing their own thing with great success, its ok if you don't liked it, not everybody has to like what they are doing, just like a lot of us don't like what other companies are doing.

Also, it already been said a lot of times that a proper Pokemon game will never be on consoles, the game began on handhelds and it will remain on handhelds, it has to do with the fact that the sharing and stuff is better that way (or something like that), is also a philosophy by the Pokemon Company not Nintendo, so if they don't want to make that game, we won't have that game, as simply as that.

I would have to see more of it...and it definitely looks better now, but still, it just doesn't look right, maybe is the art style or the structure of the game (multiplayer focus) that just doesn't appeal to me.

I don't know what people are complaining about. I thought the Direct showed quite a bit and a lot of that looked great. Looks like that leak was fake too. Good guesses on their part though. I'm looking forward to the SMT spinoff and Lost Reavers.

Yeah they totally didn't show off Star Fox (the biggest Wii U game of the year besides Zelda U), SMT x FE, Paper Mario, Pokken tournament, and other stuff.

Paper Mario and Metroid look like fucking trash.

The leak was partially correct, the only thing that it got wrong was yo-kai, but getting monster hunter and lost reavers was spot on for the leak. I'm pretty sure they said there would be more on the direct anyways

Bailing out on Wii U? Oh definitely, they will be departing the Wii U and 3DS train by the end of this year after Pokemon Sun and Moon and Zelda U, and will be boarding the NX train soon. They still care about it though

But all of that was easily predictable. They were already released in Japan, and were waiting localization. There was no mention of Paper Mario, Kirby, and quite a few other things. Like I said, there were a couple good guesses in there, but it was nothing that couldn't have been predicted or seem plausible.

Lets say Fed Force was Wii U. It had graphics that looked like a souped up Prime and it had a trailer where your team of 4 were battling a giant Ridley and had giant set pieces like CoD.

Fans would be loving it and proclaiming it the return of Metroid and Nintendo. The only reason this is hated so much is because this doesn't look like what they wanted. It could have the exact same play style, and setting but with more realistic graphics and people would be loving this thing.

So, SNES games finally on the N3DS. So it IS possible after all the apologists' excuses to run these games. Sure Nintendo, why not make them exclusive to the newest platform only to push it, then force all those who've bought these roms on previous consoles to buy it over again? I don't buy for one second these games weren't possible on the older 3DSes. As jett said so eloquently on Neogaf:

"Charging multiple times for the same rom. The Nintendo difference".

Luckily I haven't touched a single digital product of Nintendo's ever, IF they get proper accounts in order I may yet. It'd be great to have all those games on one 3DS. But they just have to extort their fans repeatedly for all they're worth one last time before affording consumer's their rights they've been dragging their feet for years in reluctance to implement. If they don't announce cross-buy so those who've bought these games before won't have to again.....man. But what am I saying? Of course Nintendo won't allow transfers....they're Nintendo.

hahaha...nah just prefer original voice with eng subs rather than eng dubs, even in movies. Chinese, Korean, French, German, Russian..not specifically Japanese. ;)

Just my bias, tend to prefer original voice over eng dub..have experience waay to many bad english dub stuff - movies, anime series & games. :P

It looks bad for a 3DS game, no if's and but's. It looks like it could possibly be amusing to play, but I'll wait for a demo/gameplay to judge that. However, as proven time and time again, better graphics help the gameplay, in particular immersion of the player into the game (and some other important stuff like being able to discern different types of objects in the game world with ease, for example).

Also, before this trailer, the main reason of complaint seemed (and still seems to be) that it's a Metroid game without Samus. Looking around that seems the factor that has been upsetting fans the most.

Personally I don't think that graphics help gameplay. I played some pretty bad looking games with great gameplay and they were still just as great. Immersion is a recent term that I feel is more dedicated to the story driven games. Those games need graphics to sell the story better. Fed Force isn't one of those games. It needs good gameplay and to me, it looks like it has it.

Besides, Nintendo confirmed that Samus is in the game, just not playable.
