I'm glad you are happy with it, really, I am, but for me personally its a hunk of shit that I regret buying. I'll wait on NX to see if they have listened to consumers and for the library of game I would play to build up.
Lets say Fed Force was Wii U. It had graphics that looked like a souped up Prime and it had a trailer where your team of 4 were battling a giant Ridley and had giant set pieces like CoD.
Fans would be loving it and proclaiming it the return of Metroid and Nintendo. The only reason this is hated so much is because this doesn't look like what they wanted. It could have the exact same play style, and setting but with more realistic graphics and people would be loving this thing.
Except the art style is really bad as its chibi now, there is no Samus, and there is no tense exploration since you are with your friends. It doesnt help that the graphics are awful, but its just not a metroid game

The wii actually had support during its lifespan though, most of the stuff coming out on wii u had already been in development for a while though, whats coming now is just trickles of what was left since its life was so short

Did I misunderstand what they were saying and I can indeed play these games on my launch, ambassador 3DS? if not I am going to excuse myself for a few minutes while I laugh uncontrollably.
On to Federation Force or whatever the hell it is called. The videos released yesterday after the Direct look better than the E3 reveal to be sure. With the exception of not playing as Samus, I could feel some "Metroid" in the game. I want to like the game and I want to want the game but it still comes across as a lame, half ass attempt at appeasing Metroid fans. Nintendo underestimates Metroid fans though.

The money excuse is a complete red herring. Such a defense could be used for many of this company's practices. Based on how I perceive Nintendo as working, I would not doubt they honestly believe SNES games available will be a big catalyst for this console as its time is coming to an end. Perhaps the original 3DS has issues with SNES games but Nintendo could work the problem and fix it but it seems to me they are lazy and see a quick buck.

@aigis: I think your underestimating the power of a new Pokemon game. Were not talking about a remake. This game could sell 15 million plus on one device. If Nintendo were greedy and wanted N3DS to sell more, theyd lock it to N3DS.
