I'd say that in terms of 1st party, Nintendo has quality AND quantity way over the other two. I've never been into Microsoft's few 1st party offerings and Sony has a few pretty good games, but nothing fantastic in their repertoire, but the HD twins make up for that with having all those amazing multiplats.

Loved the Gamecube and camped out for a Wii at launch. Seeing Nintendo sell out to the casuals burned me and a lot of others hence my hatred and Wii U sales.Nintendo is overrated, they make OK games but not great.

Play one of them and you've played them ALL.

I don't think he was trying to defend Nintendo, more like (badly) attack them.360 has 39 games with a metacritic of 90 or higher. PS 3 has 36. Wii has 11. Info from gamerankings.com

[QUOTE="MonsieurX"][QUOTE="Quad4Life"] The first party games were good but what about the 3rd party? Nintendo's E3 conferences were annoying to watch because all they ever talked about was how they expanded to the casuals, showing non gamers playing Wii Fit or some other casual games. Followed by showing Few core titles to keep gamers excited, the Wii had long droughts. They also took to long to get serious about their online service. I want only a Nintendo console, the concept of having to own others for multiplats is annoying. Imagine if Nintendo could be the all in one if they actually made a serious attempt to make their console powerful. Tons of 3rd party games + Nintendo 1st party games = the best console ever. What Nintendo really needs to do is cut the gimmicks, have a Wii U pro like controller be their consoles gamepad and make a powerful capable console with 9 GB GDDR5.Quad4LifeThat's what I said. Nintendo didn't turned out to casuals,3rd parties did. 3rd parties did because they saw that core games didn't sell. No More Heroes, a big Wii exclusive barely sold copies. Even Xenoblade didn't sell much, despite the consoles massive userbase. You realize Xenoblade had a difference audience targeted right? NoA sighted the sales as a success.

No More Heroes always seemed like one of those games that was never destined to be a big seller even if it was exclusive to the Xbox 360 or PS3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but werent' the sales of the 360 and PS3 versions just as bad?  No More Heroes(along with Madworld) seems like a niche game.
Â
As for Xenoblade, it sold pretty damn good when you consider the fact that it was sold only at Gamestop, lacked any kind of wide-spread distribution, and Nintendo really did nothing to promote the game. I think Xenoblade would have done much better had it been given a wide release and Nintendo had put more effort into marketing it.  The Last Story did very well and if I remember correctly, is Xseed's best-selling game of all time.
Â
Hopefully, with the success of The Last Story, Xenoblade, and Fire Emblem:Awakening, Nintendo will be alot more open to bringing these games over here.Â
[QUOTE="RyanShazam"]Fixed. Seriously how can people complain about the milking of COD after looking at Nintendo. They are all different genres. Mario as a name is milked but his main series isnt too bad. We got 1 New Super Mario Bros game per console and 2 3D Mario games for the Wii. Not too bad.Lots of Mario games listed there.
Shielder7
I really don't understand why so many people on this board despise the fact that Mario is such a popular character.
Nintendo has this huge variation of games and series. Â They all play differently. Â Most of them are of at least a decent quality. Â Some of them are good, even great!
The quality is there, but Nintendo also has brand power and Mario is the face of that. Â Why wouldn't you use that to help boost sales of your games?
If Sony or MS had a character even half as popular as Mario you would see them doing the same thing. Â Hell, Sony already tried and failed on quite a few occasions because they believed they had iconic characters.
Nintendo has something that these other guys don't and they use it to their advantage. Â This is a dedicated gaming company going up against two behemoths. Â They're doing exactly what they should be doing.
It won't be long until quantity gets replaced with Mario in the dictionary. Poor quantity. :( KjranuYour sig......is that a guy that looks kinda like a girl, or is it s girl that looks a lot like a guy?
Why should I, or anyone else for that matter, care? That list is at least partially made up of low budget Mario cash-ins that no serious gamer even took a second look at in the first place. If Nintendo wants to shovel out crap that's fine, as long as they continue releasing great quality high profile titles at the same time. Games like the Mario olympic garbage aren't really affecting those of us who are smart enough not to buy them.

The fact that deep down, it hurts his feelings to see Mario selling games. Â He cant sleep knowing that the evils of brand recognition are hard at work.
TC is obviously suffering from extreme butthurt.

I think for Strongdeadlift it may be a permanent case.
Nintendo is all about Quantity when it comes to mario, the games lost their quality long ago, this day and age mario is boring, and repetitive hyped to the heavens by nostalgia and nintendo fans.

23 of those games are mario games.... Ya no thank you nintendo I'm not a kid anymore.
wazzap76
Great point, but Nintendo doesn't expect either of us to be on board any more. They target kids and losers who still collect action figures after puberty. It makes dollars so it makes snese...

BAM! I love your anti-Nintendo posts, they're all 100% accurate and perfectly reflect the way everyone over the age of 13 should feel about the company.
It's cool that kids have a console dedicated to them, I have no problem with that. It's the man-child failures, level 50 and beyond (indicating many years spent here [old dudes]), who keep defending Nintendo that disgust me.
Keep up the good work bro...
