Plenty of variety in that list actually. Â Unless a games name means more to you than the gameplay itself.

That's sheep argument right there. If i'm simply not into platformers, more half that list doesn't apply to me. Your definition of variety is one version of a platformer vs another version of a platformer. They're still platformers.
Uhh, buddy. Â I hate to break it to you, but there can be plenty of variety from one platformer to the next.
Thing is though. Â There are 45 games in that list. Â Only 9 of which are platformers. Â 4 of them 3d platformers. Â The rest 2d. Â The only ones that are dangerously samey are the NSMB titles.
This is not a sheep argument. Â This is me being logical and pointing out a fact.
The list is full of variety. Â Dont like it? Â Cool.
You're still wrong.
Edit: And btw. Â What you're into has no bearing on the variety or lack there of in that list. Â This has nothing to do with your personal opinion.
Don't tell me you have not heard of gamers who completely avoid one genre completely. Like rpgs for example. There are jrpgs, wrpgs, action rpgs, MMO rpgs etc. etc. You can even break the wrpg genre down further into a dungeon's & dragons rpg as well. All these different sub-genres of rpgs have variety and play differently from one another. Despite that, there ARE gamers who just say that they don't play rpg games because say.....it's too time consuming.
The same applies to any other genre. The debate isn't about whether one type of platformer varies in gameplay from another type of platformer. The question is, IF i'm not into platformers, then what else does it have to offer?
