No future for PC-exclusive games...

"Nvidia's VP of content business development, Roy Taylor, has said he believes the value of consoles means "no-one is going to make PC-exclusive games in the future".

"I think we have to face the facts - the value of consoles is such that no-one is going to make a PC-exclusive game in the future. Why would they? Why would they ignore consoles?" said Taylor."

"Most PC gamers also own consoles - not all of them, but a lot of them. What we're seeing happen is that, yes, people are developing for Xbox 360, for PS3 - but they're also developing for PC," he added."

I don't know how many times I've heard "PC has the most and best exclusives!" Well here is a man in the industry that can admit that the gaming industry is changing and that consoles are the base line and that most PC owners own a console along side their PC...

That being said he does say that the PC version of the games are "better" to him and PC gamers and fans. But he still admits that consoles are coming up to the point where PC will no longer have exclusives it will be a side by side industry;)

The PC does have more AAA/AA exclusives along with more AAA/AA Non exclusives. Over double the amount in fact. This isn't debatable.

How does this change the fact that there are many PC exclusives coming out in the future? Project Offset, Empire Total War, Starcraft 2, Battlefield Heroes, Jagged Aliance 3, Diablo 3, WoW:WTLK, Demigod, Battlefield 3, Dawn of War II, etc. Just to name a few.

Although these threads aren't surprising from huge console fanboys such as yourself, i find your persistence towards "proving" PC games aren't what they are as very Insecure. I mean, did a PC tower fall on your moms head or something? This is literally all your threads are about. All you do in these threads is make ridiculous claims that are always debunked as either lies or just plain wrong. You have to be getting tired of it by now...

This isn't even mentioning the fact that the PC version of the any game is 99.99% of the time far superior. KB/Mouse, Mods, graphics, online, everything. Whereas console owners get milked by buying maps we PC gamers get them for free along with user generated content/maps.

It's ironic because console fanboys have done nothing but claim "PC gaming is dying" for over 15 years now. Yet, it's only been growing the entire time. Not only that, especially in these past few years, been growing by huge amounts every year. I mean in the past year and a half over 100 million PC's were sold with at least HL2 capabilities or higher. Sure, not all are PC gamers, but a good amount are. Like you said, even if there were no more PC exclusives (which isn't the case and far from it) the PC would still have the superior version in terms of controls, graphics, mods, online, etc. With PC gaming getting larger every single year, you're only going to have more PC exclusives.

I think there is a point to it, but the fact is that PC games have NEVER hold on to their exclusivity well. Starcraft, HL2, Doom3 and pretty much every other big PC game has been on consoles in some form, so it's really nothing new. No one pays to keep games exclusive on PC like they do on consoles.

But thanks to the huge amount of games coming to PC, it STILL has the most exclusives. He kinda ignores small developers completely, they can't often afford console development and marketing. He also forgets the limited nature of console hardware, controls and online which have effectively kept many games PC exclusive.

And yes, multiplats are usually a fair bit better despite the scores, anyone who claims that TOB or Oblivion on console stand up to the PC versions is talking out of their ass. The different standards claim is very true, if a PC game was limited to 720p at 30fps with only one control configuration and limited online, it would never score AAA anywhere. But since those are to be expected from consoles, they won't get punished for them.

No not really! Sooner or later all the MMO will be ported over! With each Gen the gaming consoles get better (graphic wise) as well. So porting will become easier the better consoles get. It will be a side by side industry we all have to face that... It's already happening. Look at Sony and MS

You can see it already this gen: PC devs who are porting their games to consoles are giants, absolutely biggest PC devs around, typical PC dev is already too small to even think about getting into console market.

So no, in future you can expect more PC exclusives, not less

You failed to prove anything. There are still tons and tons of PC exclusives coming out next year and in the near future. There always are PC exclusives coming out every single year.

Fork over the cash? Oh, right, because of "teh $3000 gaming PC". :roll: So ignorant it's sad. High end gaming PC's are very cheap and i've stated and cited cheap parts so many times it's sad. PC gaming is more expensive than console gaming, that isn't debateable, it's fact. But, PC gaming isn't anywhere near as expensive as you console fanboys like to make it out to be. My current PC (my last hardware lasted me 3 years) will last me at least a few years and is a monster and it only cost $1000. Best part? I can install a 2nd GPU in at anytime and extend the life even further (among looking at CPU's or whatever i want if and when i wish). Hell, when the 9800GT 512mb GPU goes down even further in price next year i was probably going to pick one up and install it in my PC to have 1gb of video ram. Not only that, these PC's do more than just play games and are over 2x as powerful as any console.

KB/Mouse is the most precise and accurate way of playing games. This is Fact. You ever wonder why a gamepad needs extensive autoaim just to make up for the inconsistency of aiming with the analogs? Yea, it's because a gamepad IS NOT accurate in the least. And, i'm sorry, but your opinion is null after the argument the other day where you claimed that "The PC version of Gears 1 wasn't superior to the 360 version of Gears 1". Yes, you remember that.

Plus there is no denying the fact that a lot of the indy devs simply weont port across, so there will always be exclusives there.
