Princeofshapeir/Clone1, Uncharted let's YOU interact during important and or BIG events. It let's you experience IN ACTUAL GAMEPLAY big events/moments that you would have instead watched as a major cut scene in another game. As a great example, In Gears of War you WATCH a cut scene. IN Uncharted YOU PLAY the cut scene. Uncharted is taking presentation, and letting you interact during its big action set pieces and or epic moments... You aren't able to change the story, which is the case for most, if not all games, BUT in Uncharted you are able to interact, play, and partake in most of if not all the major cinematic moments.....(which most of being fully playable sequences) INSTEAD of other wise watching cut scenes... or standing around in dialogue for minutes at a time doing nothing....or doing fetch quests/side quests that don't intertwine with the story. And that's one of many reasons about what IS special about what Naughty Dog did with Uncharted. (Another being how flawlessly the game blends its mechanics together, how exquisitely well paced it is, and how steller the execution of its ideas/premises/and or mechancis is) That's how they(ND) brought presentation to new heights this generation with Uncharted.... by allowing more interactivity and control during presentation; then had ever been done before. Now, can you comprehend, at least a little, why the Uncharted games are so revered by fans , and why the series has become something so special, and so loved by fans?

While I like the Uncharted series more than the Gears series, saying Uncharted 1 is better than Gears 2 is laughable.

Gears 2 was a broken mess,and is widely consideered to be one of the most disappointing game sequels EVER (even by the most hard core of Gears players) The campagin in Uncharted 1 sh!ts all over the lackluster campagin in Gears 2. I have never cared about a Gear "story " period, and having to trudge through one linear, shallow, aand repetitious shooting segemeng to get the next always felt like a chore in Gears. I genuinely wanted to keep playing Uncharted to experience the next moments. I was always on my toes with anticipation while playing ALL the Uncharted games to see what was next. Very few games can capture the raw excitement. Uncharted does. Uncharted 1 had the better campagin, it shouldn't even be up.for debate. And to.even.suggest that Gears 2 awful campagin was any where near the campagin in.Uncharted 1 is an.insult to gamers, and is an insult to Uncharted

The only thing that was broken in Gears 2 is MP. I'm comparing the SP to both games.

Uncharted 1 had:

Weak puzzles

Some tedious firefights

Bullet sponge enemies

Odd screen tearing

A jet ski sequence that should had been good if you didn't have to stop every 10 seconds to shoot someone

Only 2 characters to give a damn about

Controls that needed work for the cover system, shooting mechanics and six axis support

A shorter campaign

A QTE boss fight that was horrible and is the only boss in the game

On GS, 9.0>8.0 and on metacritc, 93>88, Gears 2 is the better game. Also, you didn't like Baird and Cole, WTF?

Look, you need to ask your parents to buy you a Xbox 3600 because your PS3 purchase you made with your last allowance was a mistake. You are making things up, or stating opinion as fact, the truth is you are insecure about your Uncharted purchase and would rather leave gers. last time you left out Uncharted one, because you knew you did not like the series. Isn't OOT's rating from 22 critics vs GTAIV's 64 critics

The user score for OOT is 9.3 from 762 ratings vs GTAIV's 7.6 from 1309 ratings.

EDIT: Shouldn't Metroid Prime's ratings be technically higher, it has a rating of 9.7 from 70 critics.

The user score for OOT is 9.3 from 762 ratings vs GTAIV's 7.6 from 1309 ratings.

EDIT: Shouldn't Metroid Prime's ratings be technically higher, it has a rating of 9.7 from 70 critics.

Well the original OoT came out at a time when there probably were only like 22 publications rating games

-The Dom and Maria thing felt forced. -Even Cliffy B said if he could go back, he would of made the whole Dom and Maria thing better. -Almost all the dialogue was cheesy. -Some, some were not. Gears HAS NOTHING on Uncharted, when it comes to sh!t that truly matters. So in conclusion, Uncharted 2 significantly out scored Gears 2, and more importantly won a ton more GOTY awards, And Uncharted 3 out scored Gears 3 Over like 44+ websites in total scored Uncharted 3 higher then or equal to Gears 3(while over 21 websites flat-out scored Uncharted 3 higher then Gears 3) Hahah, so the critics, and gamers alike spoke, and they said Uncharted 3 was better then the Gears 3. They obviously knew what was up! Gamespot got it wrong! You know it too buddy lol! Here's my proper analogy lol, and this not only holds true for Uncharted 3, but all the magnificent Uncharted games Uncharted 3, and Uncharted 2 were like the most epic roller coaster ride at six flags. The campagin in U3/U2 was pure quality throughout, it was unadulterated fun, and it super engaging .... And when at its peak, it would offer a gaming high of pure nirvana...then the ride would go back down again, plateau, build tension, then boom... it would rise up again, and take you for the loops of a roller coaster ride! (That's the Uncharted campagin in a nutshell i.e-the most epic roller coaster ride of your life) 10-15 hours of gaming nirvana lol Mean while, Gears of War 3 /Gears 2/Gears 1 were like the broken down roller coaster ride at your local farmers market by comparison. Just a complete borefest of a campagin, with poorly done story mechanics, and too many repetitious - strictly shooting style segments.

Six Flags had some bad ratings and is heading to bush garden levels recently. Also you are the one that brought up scores and tried to pretend Uncharted 1 did not exist, which even still the Gears series is highly rated. Those same critics that gave Uncharted all those awards? Rated gears higher. The problem is that you are mentally ill, and you have emotional disabilities. you are depressed over your purchase of the Ps3 and you really want gears and obviously have a sexual attraction to it. The fact is you lost your own argument, I used what you presented against you, Gears is more higher rated. Not it's awards? Well then why did those award giving critics you love so much give gears higher ratings? So UC1 is so poor you can't even compare it to the first geras. Good Good, theraby is working well. Also I made a post above, hopefully you can use it to elevate your brain levels.

I am speaking from experience, and I found flaws that many don't put out when they play Uncharted 1. Those flaws appeared as I was playing it, I didn't find it, they found me. Technically these games are pretty near equal and both games have huge problems. And how can you say Gears 2 didn't have anything resembling a story when it's basically a war story for the Cogs to finally attack the Locust once more even if it's not written well?

Here's my proper analogy lol, and this not only holds true for Uncharted 3, but all the magnificent Uncharted games Uncharted 3, and Uncharted 2 were like the most epic roller coaster ride at six flags. The campagin in U3/U2 was pure quality throughout, it was unadulterated fun, and it super engaging .... And when at its peak, it would offer a gaming high of pure nirvana...then the ride would go back down again, plateau, build tension, then boom... it would rise up again, and take you for the loops of a roller coaster ride! (That's the Uncharted campagin in a nutshell i.e-the most epic roller coaster ride of your life) 10-15 hours of gaming nirvana lol Mean while, Gears of War 3 /Gears 2/Gears 1 were like the broken down roller coaster ride at your local farmers market by comparison. Just a complete borefest of a campagin, with poorly done story mechanics, and too many repetitious - strictly shooting style segments.

I've never thought GOW3 looked as good as some PS3 fans claimed. I've played through it and have the trophies to prove it. It is a pretty nice looking console game, but definitely not the best looking...on either console. It's fixed perspective and mediocre textures just don't look that impressive. The chains on Kratos's arms look pathetically bad. Not even close to the detail seen in Geralt's character model in The Witcher 2.

This thread is holding up pretty well, lems be mad.

Personally i think the witcher 2(360) is the best looking console game, the art style and detail is amazing.

but it all comes down to opinions, and in mine GOW3 definently looks better than gears 3, but killzone 2 is the best looking on ps3.
