No HDR support for The Witcher 3 on PC...

I prefer something else be developed that can be recorded on screenshots and videos.

It still looks and runs better though.

Hdr10 is just 10bit colour space, you want wide range? There are 12 and even 14bit monitors for professional use, price is something else tho

they are not capable of outputting an hdr image. its not even debatable. they lack the color depth and brightness. the first real hdr monitors will be in 2018 at some point. tvs remain far ahead in this aspect.

Why not connect HDR TVs to PCs?

@jun_aka_pekto: you can. Im just stating that there arent any consumer hdr monitors. Just a bunch of false marketing. If you dont have a high refresh rate or free/gsync monitor you should be using a tv anyway. Image quality and colors blow the doors off of monitors. And you can get hdr. And they are priced far better

Because refresh rates on TVs suck ass. TVs also have motion blur and frame smoothing.

My eldest kid and I do use an LCD TV as the primary PC monitor. More flexible with numerous quality presets. Plus, there's a remote. No need to fiddle around with buttons at the side or bottom. ;)

The only negative is being stuck at 60 Hz.

Look at torrent numbers(for those who deal who the unsavory side of games) for number of seeders/downloads.(I have NEVER looked OR downloaded with Utorrent on private trackers to hurt the industry)

@DragonfireXZ95: That’s not what HDR is, that picture has more saturation than the other, without HDR the picture doesn’t look like the bottom one, that’s just been changed via the ingame picture mode using the saturation tab. You can make games look better, but in no way get the same picture quality with it compared to HDR support. Also that pic is AC Origins, it has HDR support on PC.

Please don't try to pretend that TVs dont also use a lot of smoke and mirrors and bs marketing as well. Like people thinking they will get a quality image with edge-lit, lol.

Gaming on a TV sucks. Sure you get HDR, but you also get blurring and input lag.

The picture smoothness you get on a quality monitor is unrivaled. That's more important to me than HDR.

True, and it could be a underlying reason why PC's haven't garnered a recent GOTY excluive in the last decade + and until this year never had an excluive 10/10. PC is always behind consoles.

@UssjTrunks: My TV has lower input lag than most monitors and looks great in motion. Only the very highest end monitors look great, and most PC gamers don’t use them. Monitors look no better than TVs or Vice versa, like anything it depends how much you spend. What it really boils down to is personal preference.

Nevermind the fact that PC has the most AAA/AA at MC and GS and easily wins any score/review list.

So we have the best gfx, performance, online, competitive, and scores.

I'm sure TVs do a lot of smoke and mirrors as well. All I have to do is look at my screenshots of UC2 and UC3. They looked washed out compared to how I view them on TV.

Kinda similar to Nvidia's Digital Vibrance on the PC. I see rich colors onscreen. But, take a screenshot and the picture looks more washed out.

HDR is the same way. If I can't capture it in screenshots, what's the point? That's why I want something different for improving image quality.

Nope. According to gamespot and metacritic PC has considerably more AAA/AA (and A if you care) titles than any other system.

PC wins the quality/quantity and review score argument. Games is a big win for PC. As is gfx, performance, online, etc.

I will give one big win to console though they are easier to use for "lesser" able individuals.

Nope PC overall has the best games, gfx, performance, online, and competitive gameplay.

Console is only better at 1 thing, being easier to use for lesser able individuals.

Um.... not one single console has the "best games" in history You would have to buy every single console that ever released to play those "best games" While on PC you can emulate almost all those " best games" from those consoles and still has access to vast majority of its library since the early days. Also ever since 2005 PC has had most of same game library as the two big main console makers. Consoles are not as special as they were back in the day.

And 10/10 Exclusives not to mention excluive GOTY's..Things PC is woefully behind consoles and those games are the best of the BEST.

PC is extremely ahead according to MC and GS. Several more high scoring titles per year than any 1 system. Just way way more and better games. Also plays nearly all ps/xb games but in a better fashion.

My consoles all collect dust.

Some I reckon, but not as popular as PC, which some same is the only reason to get one. I know nothing about torrents or illegal downloads though.

1. PC wins for games. MC and GS verify this fact. Most AAA/AA by a large large margin. It's insanely ahead. This is why SW stopped using score counts and spreadsheets, PC kept winning and it got boring. It still wins to this day. PC is were you go for games.

2. PC wins for tech. 4k/60fps vs 1080p(or fake 4k)/20-30fps. OUCH! This is no contest. A significant majority of video games look, load, and run better on PC. Hence video gaming is done better on PC, objectively speaking. Witcher3 still looks, loads, and runs better on PC. PC is were you go for gfx in general.

Top graphics, performance, and games. All on PC.

And lets not even talk about online or competitive gaming. I feel bad for you 20-30 fps on medium kids with 1 or 2 games a year and no real online.

Consoles have awards and all you have is opionion. Another PS4 exclusive that simply looks better then anything available.

Even the Witcher 3 with HDR support puts both console versions ahead of the pc version. Its sad really.

1. PC is the best system for games at Metacritic and Gamespot. This is not an opinion, it's based off of numbers. No other system has as many AAA or AA titles per year. PC has an extraordinary gap ahead of any other 1 system. It plays nearly every XB game, and most PS games on top of having tons of it's own exclusives. It is the premiere gaming device. This is a factual statement.

2. 4k/60fps is better than 1080p/30 fps. Visually. Witcher 3 is better on PC. Over 90% of video games, aka multiplats, are better played on PC. Hence video gaming is better on PC. This is a factual statement.

3. PC online and competitive play are superior by exponential margins. Online gaming on anything but PC = You're doing it wrong.

Awards don't change the above facts. Console always wins the most awards because it has the most hype and marketing. Meanwhile PC has the best overall number of games, performance, online, and gfx. Quality over marketing. PC won 2017.
