[QUOTE="iunderstand"]I hope they implement the controller into Halo 3. I found Halo 1 and 2 too difficult, one big easy red win button would make it soooo much better.

It wasn't as bad as Sony's last year. Boring, but they didn't make any actually stupid comments.
So lets sum up all pre-E3 rumors:
New SKU?-no,just a halo3 version
MGS4?-no
FFXIII?-no
New rare game?-Sort of:lol:
pricedrop-nope
halomovie,halowars-nowhere to be seen
atleast some on stage gameplay of a 360 exclusive?-no, just giving sony more stage time
and these expectations weren't even that high!

EXACTLY!! omg still can't believe M$ conf was this bad, i really hope that sony's and ninty's suck too so that we get the idea that companies aren't just interested in E3 anymore
THe conference was decent. Not great, not bad, just decent. The core of what they showed was pretty good, but it was all footage of multiplats and very few exclusives. Gears of War for the PC looked good, but now I feel screwed that I got the 360 version when the PC version is going to include all this extra content. RE 5 was good, PGR4 was good, even Halo 3 looked good, it just wasn't new or exciting and the lack of a price drop announcement really stung...
If I had to give it a score, I'd give it a 7/10. MS dropped the ball here, and Sony and/or Nintendo could easily swoop in and pull the rug out from underneath them.

I say again, Ninty plays their cards so close to their chest, they're probably going lay down a royal flush, and just blow us away. The reason we've heard almost nothing from Nintendo recently, is because they save all their announcements for these sorts of events. Microsoft announces things as soon as they can, so when these events come around, there's nothing that people haven't heard already.

[QUOTE="FreedomReign"]Jaded bloggers make for piss poor audiences.
"oh look CoD4.. yawn", "oh look Assassin's Creed... wait did that corpse just hang in mid air?", "oh look Halo... cut to commercial".
I don't think MS did as badly as everyone thinks they did. E3 07, may be the last E3 ever. Unless Sony and Nintendo can get the Zombie like bloggers, and Journalists to cheer for SOMETHING, this will be a bad year for press conferences all around... I may eat those words later, but I don't see anyone making much of an impact on the 'Elite' crowds at this conference.
iunderstand
Or maybe Microsoft's showing just wasn't that great? Just because Microsoft had a poor showing doesn't mean E3 is officially over. It just means Microsoft had a poor showing.
But its why MS had a poor showing that may be the nail in the coffin for E3. Unless MS literally has no worthwhile footage of any of their games coming out in 2008 and beyond be it CGI, trailers or gameplay nor do they have any new games to announce, it seems that MS has just given up on E3 and were just going through the motions. Looks like they're going to save all their major announcements for X07.[QUOTE="skixwolf"][QUOTE="iunderstand"]I hope they implement the controller into Halo 3. The confrence was ok. But Peter was right the 360 will dominate in software side of things this holiday season. There is no way we can deny that he was right the three games that are set to dominate this season can all be found in one place and that is the 360.
I don't know how well scene it will do it is a nice attempt. But honestly lets face facts the 360 only so far has sold to the hardcore and it is going to take more than scene it and a new viva pinata party game to change that expecially at that price.

Umm, "dropped the ball" is a metaphor for an unexpected surprise, which is a good thing. I'd give them maybe a 4/10, because there conference could easily have been fit into half an hour or less, without the amount of actual information with meat on it that they gave us.
Weaksauce, that's about all I can say. The 360 has a incredible lineup this year.....but we already new that. :| There was just no energy like last year.Ibacai
Pretty much...Lets take the time to show you our line up for this year...We already know you have a fantastic line up. Tell us more about what we dont know. And not a single megaton...except RE5 trailer^_^ Other then that...It was a fairly boring conference. Not bad...just really didnt do anything new. Wasnt worse then SOny's 06...but not nearly as entertaining lol.
I have to say Sony is going to smash this one right though...Wii really doesnt seem to have any vibe for it going. And after this letdown...Sony could show one new game and win it.
All I know is for MS....X07 better be amuzing. We get that you want to show us thier years line up. Okay...Now deliver on the next year and beyond. We are talking Price drop(Should be as soon as possible or now), A peak at the next major XBL updated, An expansion on XBLA that includes games like Monoply as such, Atleast NG2 announce or next Team Ninja game. Score a good exculsive or two and make your own. A more info on Halo Wars, Alan Wake, Fable 2 etc.

But they never contradicted themselves, or made a real fool of themselves in terms of what they said.
It may have been stupid, as in funny and rediculous, but it definately wasn't stupid in terms of PR and intelligence. Sony's last year was.

I've never heard the phrase "dropped the ball" used in that fashion. Not once. I was using it in a negative light, like they dropped a pass or fumbled. Based on this conference, I think they did that.

That's probably a good thing. 360 had lots of vibe, but when it came time for E3, they discovered that they had used all their good announcements to generate vibe.
P.S. You should put a warning of what sort of spoiler your sig is. Did you get this from some sort of official source, or did you think of it yourself, because the idea is brilliant if so.

Hmm, maybe the phrase is "dropped the bomb". It's late, and my minds a little fuzzy right now.
It was an alright Press Conference, nothing absolutely stunning. I expected nearly everything they showed (save Scene It! and a few others...). It just reconfirmed my selection of 360 titles I'll be buying this holiday season.

The phrase "dropped the ball" is always used in a negative connotation. :|
Hmm...Halo Wars Trailer...Redmoonxl2
1. No price cut
2. Xbox 360 "driving the industry"
3. Casual titles (Viva Pinata Party, Scene It)
4. Peter Moore screwing up the Rock Band demo *twice*
5. Reggie Bush calling Microsoft cheaters
6. Disney, movies, ugh...
7. Arcade titles flood
8. Gears of War PC!
9. Call of Duty 4 steals the conference
10. Halo 3 ridden like dead, ugly horse.
11. Need to see more of Lost Odyssey
12. No information on Too Human
It's not over until the other press conferences, so we have something to compare this one to in the new E3 arena, however my early impression is that this absolutely sucked. I'm highly disappointed, MS had an opportunity to go for the kill - instead they pranced around with multiplatform titles and their services - and dropped in Halo 3 like it was a magic elixer for victory.
No price cut? No victory - MS shows off a bunch of services and games aimed at general users, but then leaves the console priced out of their reach? The two big things to take away from this? Call of Duty 4 looks amazing, and Gears of War is coming (with new content) to the PC.
MS needed to give out some of these, to help make their blundering, disconnected conference look good...
Please remember these comments are about THE CONFERENCE ITSELF...
Don't forget to download all the content on Xbox Live Marketplace. They got game videos they didn't show in the conference like Too Human. Its a 8 minute long trailer, it looks amazing! Also the Blue Dragon demo is up! Don't forget to sign up for the Xbox 360 only COD4 beta!
Microsoft owned E3. No shock announcement but they didn't need it. All they had to do was say "Hey, we are winning the console race, and we have all the games you want in 2007", and they did that.Wow you sound like peeetaah... Well I thougt E3 was about anouncements, new games and megatons. Not a shareholder meeting.
If I was MS I would hold off some games until 2008, but they obviously are looking to dominate this Christmas, and they will.

There's still hope. We'll see what Nintendo and Sony can pull off.
I don't think Nintendo will be much better, they seem to focus on TGS over E3 anyway. That's how it is suppose to be used. Dropped the ball is not a good thing, dropped a bomb on the other hand...OMG OMG OMG THAT WAS AWESOME,Really I doubt even Nintendo or Sony together could pull such a good show and hell Xlive media going worldwide time by now eh Microsoft.
The Finance stuff sounded to me like Nintendo/Sony ownage.Maybe was just me but facts don't lie, especially if they are convenient to me hehe.
While Scene it kind of disappoint me,for a second I thought it was D&D,Monopoly,Magic the gathering or Yu-gi-oh Scene it sounds like it could be fun to play with family and friends if they like that sort of thing.Viva piñata party animals was good but reminds me to Mario party which means no thnx,Really a Sequel or even Banjo 3 would impact me more but yet i like it and love it.
Halo 3 was fantastic. When I saw the second trailer with actors I thought it was Star wars game :P,the last one was shocking the only thing that could make Halo 3 even better is that you could play in the Alien side for a change, you could pull some tasty plot twist there. In a few words I'd hit it.
Assassin's creed,Well that glitch was funny but Wow looks great but what I really wanted to see was Jade in a Swimsuit
Resident evil 5,When the trailer started I thought it was MGS4,:P.Man that was good,CGI but wow that was awesome,Reminds me to Black hawk down but with Zombies :).
When I heard both GTAIV trailers were taken from the x360 I was like OMG,Sony fanboys and hell even I thought there were straight from the Ps3,I mean i have heard fanboys said GTAIV was from the Ps3 because the x360 couldn't do that,How wrong we were,How wrong we were...
The xlive games announced were awesome,I just got Sonic and beat 3 achievements.Golden axe..Well first is too hard to play without continues also I have GA in my PSP already(Sega genesis Collection FTW.).Bomberman live YES,Wing commander YEESS,The MECH one looked Awesome for a live game but what I really wanted was Prince of Persia Classic:The Shadow and the Flame.
Cod4:MW Just wow,Was that really gameplay I thought it was CGI,Unbelievable that was totally wicked :D.I also liked the EA segment too bad they didn't show Burnout Paradise.
Naruto was awesome so was Eternal Sonata and PGR4.Fantastic I'm Speechless here,Absolutely Stunning. Not to mention the Windows PC games...Juicy.
I wonder why they didn't talk about the x360 keyboard,huh....
Really that was one hell of a show,Now I leave you with a few simple words...
Sony,Nintendo Your move.
They almost had me going for a minute with their "New controller" line. Then when I actually saw it, I thought to myself 'Do they have the gall to rip off the Wii-mote this blaitently' Then when they actually explained what it was, it was sort of a 'Oh, that's pointless'.TylendalYou have to admit though it is kinda cool how they're including all 4 controllers in each copy of SceneIt for the same price as a regular 360 game. Hopefully they bring back You Don't Know Jack.

Maybe you looked the other way :|.Because I saw that Megaton Loud and Clear.
I don't think Nintendo will be much better, they seem to focus on TGS over E3 anyway.PBSnipesWhat? No. Nintendo has never been a large part of TGS. Ever. Only time I can think of Nintendo ever doing anything with TGS was the Iwata keynote in 2005. And that was all Nintendo did at TGS 2005. No demos, no booth, nothing. E3 is huge for Nintendo. I expect them to come out full force tomorrow.
It was dissapointing at best.
When they eventually came to a part that caught my attention (Gears), they didn't reveal enough about it. It rises more questions then answers. For instance:
- Will the new content in Gears be downloadable through the XBL Marketplace?
- What is the new game mode?
- What are the new maps?
