Official Too Human Thread - Keep It Here - Updated

This game seems to look like a JACK OF ALL TRADES MASTER OF NONE, looking at the gameplay vids etc, on the hack n slash side of things seems to have taken a few ides from GOW, DMC4 etc and the leveling up sidr of things has been to death but much better in different games IMO its not so much as mixing different gameplay styles in this game, it just looks to have plainly stole ideas frome here.there and everywere:roll: still they do say the best form of flattery is to copy something LOLkrakout31

yes we will. We have the advantage of having played the demo tho :) I've seen a lot of former too human bashers convert after doing so.

There aren't many demo's that have kept me entertained on my 10th playthrough. 10 hours of too human fun and i haven't even bought the game yet, lol.

You double tap it in their direction to send them in the air, then press A to enter aerial combat.

This game is going to be a real treat for hardcore gamers, something along the lines of mass effect. Too Human seems to be the perfect mix between Diablo and Elder Scrools, does anyone agree?GodBox360

I can't believe you, of all people, would try and revert this to an "opinion" argument. Of course it is my opinion, as it is their opinion, as it is your opinion, blabbity blabbity blah. Never, at any point did I say "FACT: TOO HUMAN WILL SUCK", I just reported my thoughts on the game and you took it to this extreme, which leads me to believe you don't have as much faith in this game as you would like.

Right, I bet the horrible animation, bad voice acting, bland, architecturally devoid environments, repetitive enemies and 10 hour length would all be put into perspective if only I could hold a controller in my hand while experiencing it.

My position might change when I play it, but as of now this is what I have to go on and the game looks atrocious. If I play i, come back and tell you I still think it sucks I will be accused of not playing with an open mind, not liking the genre (even though I LIVED on BNet all of 1996-1997) or not being a "core gamer" :lol: I really can't win, at least on Gamespot where the naysayers are silenced by banhammers and huge fanboy dogpiles that prohibit anyone from having a contrary opinion. Take the blinders off, there are a lot of people like me who think this game sucks, and as I said, if you won't take my word for it, how about the professional game journalists who have played a lot more of it than the demo.

In this case, I truly believe I have seen enough. It's not like they released horrific, nausea inducing trailers for Gears of War, Half Life 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Super Mario Galaxy and then the games came out and were terrific.

Based on what I've seen this game looks horrible. Take it for what it is. I don't care if you tell me I have credibility or not, the amount of responses I'm getting proves otherwise. If I was an outright troll with nothing valid to say you could easily ignore me. Since I am voicing concerns that a lot of people share, it's not as easy. Go ahead and love the game, nobody is stopping you. To say that anyone who plays the game and doesn't enjoy it is "not a true gamer" or some other such absurdity (and Q: why don't you guys take him to task for that statement? A: Because he's on your side this time) is insulting. It's that narrow-minded fanboy view that makes this forum a vile cesspit. If someone were to say "if you don't like MGS you are not a gamer" he would be the object of ridicule. We are allowed to not like games, and I am allowed to think the previews SK released to demonstrate their game were horrible. It was their choice to release those videos full of horrible animation to us, for us to judge and form opinions on.

Should I rephrase it to say "based on trailers, previews, reading of hands-on-previews, interviews and literature, I think Too Human will suck"? If I "play the demo" as so many of you suggest, and still dislike it, I will hear that either I am not a true gamer, I am a troll, I hate the genre (my personal favorite, as if TH is so good you'd have to dislike the genre not to like it :lol: ), or "wait until the final game" as if drastic changes will be undertaken in the next two months to make this one a polished, epic, legendary instant classic.

As I said, I can't win. I don't have the numbers, and this is clearly a fanboy dogpile of Denis Dyack love.

There is a way to unlock the beserker and commando class in the demo. Unplug your internet, reset your console, change the date to 2009 in the settings and then boot up the demo again. They will now be selectable. Works every time enjoy. There is also a was to glitch to get the bio and defender 2, but its tricky, heres a vid

Too Human is a game I've been expecting for a long time, and I've waited for it with confidence that it will be good. I've loved the hack-n-slash genre ever since Diablo, and Baldur's Gate: DA co-op was one of the most fun experiences I ever had on the original Xbox.

I first played the demo once (As a champion, of course) and absolutely, positively, unequivocally hated it. The camera is beyond horrid. I found the voice acting and some of the dialogue to be poor. The animations are jerky and considering the graphics, the framerate should be a LOT smoother. Some of the armor design is incredibly bad (yellow sunglasses and an osiris goatee for a helmet? What kind of drunken preteen made that?) The melee combat is unsatisfying and ranged combat was a waste of my time. I was convinced that the game was broken.

Yet, people keep praising this game in here. So, I decided to try it again, with another class. Maybe I was too critical, or maybe I wasn't looking at it correctly.

So, let's start with the Berserker (erm, or the dual wielding melee one, if I'm mistaken on the name). Now I'm seeing why the combat is there. The combat animations are still jerky, with poor flow between attacks, but if I get past this, I'm starting to enjoy the whole idea behind close quarters combat.

Hmm... I'm feeling like another playthrough. Commando it will be. Incredibly, the waste of my time that was ranged combat now has become quite fun, as now I'm able to aim at enemies that are farther away than my slide attack range. The rifle/grenade launcher combo is quite fun. This was quite the enjoyable experience - and so far, my favorite class.

It's now too late, and I won't be giving the game another playthrough for a day or two. The defender sounds boring, though -I've never been much of a tank fan- and the bioengineer sounds like more of a support character -I guess a leftover from the time when 4 player coop was considered a selling point- so I'm not quite excited about playing those. Then again, after the champion, I was not quite excited to play the game again.

So far, I still don't think it's going to be a great game. It seems quite mediocre. Although the core of the gameplay is growing on me, most of what's around fails to keep a consistent level of polish: Interface, menus, camera work, dialogue, items, etc. range from atrocious to passable, and that's not enough for a game with this amount of hype and trajectory. I'm sorry to say, I think this game needs either one more year of development... or one year less.

Will I purchase it on day one? So far, the answer is no. Will I purchase it at full price? I'm not sure, but I'm leaning towards no. However, I'm convinced that I'll eventually get it, even if it's just for some co-op action.

For those of you who were disappointed with previous showings of Too Human, or who have heard bad things, I can only recommend you try it, and endure a playthough or two of the demo. It's not a mindblowingly good experience, but it might just grow on you.

glad to see you gave it a second chance. May i ask did you master the advanced combat? It was when i finally nailed all these moves and started chaining combos together that this game clicked for me and went from good to awesome.

I'm not sure "master" is the right word. I went to the point where I started pulling combos when I wanted and actually do the moves I wanted. I'm pretty sure that if I soldier on with it I'll end up doing stuff that's considerably better

I played it for 10 minutes while drunk and the guy just moved around clunky. This game will suck. I'm an expert after 10 minutes of playtime, without equipping any new gear or levelling. I dislike because I believe it is garbage. I don't let anyone's opinion influence my own, especially not here. The game was the one that game me a negative impression before I had even played it with the terrible trailers.
