I mean if you look to buy JC 2, Space marine & LBP2 used. You're paying around the ball park of 65-70 dollars. I mean those 3 games alone are worth a 60 dollar price tag a year AND what you get to download month to month. In essence sony created a supremely great rental service for 60 bucks a year and you get A LOT of games.
Woo... 60 dollar "free" games that you lose access to once you stop paying the yearly fee! What an amazing deal! ZevianderA least you get to play tons of games,it could be worst there is a service that charge you $60 a year for something that every one else gets free, and doesn't give you access to any full or partial games,by the way it also runs out after the year is up. Oh and PSN+ is $50 no $60...
The PC market is completely different to the console tormentos
You're right!
On consoles people pay for stuff that is free elsewhere
I really thought PS3 gamers were trying their hardest to overcome this stereotype of console gamers, but once PS+ came out it all went downhill.
Paying money to get access to deals on games. That's both funny, and really really sad at the same time.
This is a sweet deal on paper, but I prefer to actually own my games. The idea of losing everything thats "free" once my subscription is over doesn't sit right with me.SteverXIIIYou don't loose them they don't get erase, you just can't use them if you resubscribe again they work, but that is no different from rental which are not your.

Games are not free on PC,i have a video card dude and games cost money, you may find a good deal online,or very cheap ones because the PC market suffer hugely from piracy,so if you know where i can fine MW3 for free on PC tell me please since games are free on PC,the only people that get free games on PC are pirates bro unless a deal is up or something. PC market is different from consoles,i have 6 years with my PS3 getting great games, but i have change my card for PC twice already, because as you may know a 4 year old card just can't keep up with new games. PC gaming is totally different to consoles, and i am thankful that is that way, buying a new card every few years is expensive and tiresome, not to mention that those top of the line graphics cards are way over priced and expensive. This is a sweet deal on paper, but I prefer to actually own my games. The idea of losing everything thats "free" once my subscription is over doesn't sit right with me.SteverXIIIIt's a great deal no matter how you slice it. Let's say you're only interested in LBP2, Infamous 2, Just Cause 2. Assuming they're worth $10 each to you as a 1-year rental, that's already a $30 value. These games are worth at least $20 each to buy new, probably the same used, on Amazon right now. If, even after a year, you like some of the included games so much that you want to buy them, you'll be able to get them dirt cheap. I can't see how anyone wouldn't get at least $100 worth of content when taking into account the next 11 months of games, plus discounts, DLC, avatars and themes.
The fact that you don't get to play the games after you let your sub expire is what keeps me from going PSN+. Normal PSN is more than good enough for me.AmazonTreeBoaYou can't expect them to make available 12 games in one month for people to keep. Everyone would then just buy 3-month cards and download everything on the service. Game sales would tank and then no publisher would be open to putting their games on the service. PS+ would not exist if these games were permanent. With that said, how many of these games can you expect to play after 12 months? If LBP2(and its Special Edition version) is $30 now, it's easy to see that it'll be $10-$15 by next year, when your subscription has expired.

You just listed stuff I get for free.
[QUOTE="CanYouDiglt"]Are those games free or do you have to buy them?Slow_Show
You have to subscribe to PSN+, and you lose acccess to them once your sub runs out. So the TC's point about "paying to play online" is a touch odd.
Isn't that how all subs are? Netflix? Spotify? I don't expect to continue having access to any of my monthly subscriptions if I stopped paying.:?

Yeah look at the 6 million songs Spotify gave me FOR FREE when i buy a subscription. There's a reason the subscription-tied games are called 'free'. PS+ has to differentiate from the games that are discounted to members. What do you expect them to put in the place of the 'free' button? It's there to save space. 'Subscription-tied game at no extra cost'. It's obvious to anyone who has heard of the service or subscribed to it that these games will expire when the sub ends. People act as though Sony has been hiding that fact in fine print at the bottom of the subscription page, when in fact it's there every time you download a 'free' game. It's nonsensical that people feel the need to point of that these games are not yours to keep, as if Sony wants to give away what they expect to be around 45 games(according to the EU blog) for this year-long run of PS+.Do they have access to the trophies, just curious.ArisShadowsYes, you get full access to trophies. Full game trials award trophies too, but you'll have to buy the game to unlock them.
let me know when I can OWN MY DOWNLOADED GAMES PERMANENTLY unlike Like the Xbox. Also add more features, then we wiil be getting somewhere.Dr-Brilliant
You don't "Own" your Live account "permanently"
You don't "Own" your Internet "permanently"
You don't "Own" your cable tv "permanently"
Why do you expect to own PS+ content permanently?
I swear it's like people go full tard when it comes to PS+ "SUBSCRIPTION" <---- Keyword

Making all PS+ games permanent would be a publishers way of saying that they want any chance of a person buying their game gone. Sony has to work with publishers to make 3rd party games available on their service. That's why you won't see COD games offered for free, unless it's an older game. The whole point of the subscription is that you'll get much more games over 12 months than you would if you just spent that $50 on permanent copies.I honestly feel sorry for you poor people who can only afford one gaming console and so feel the need to take to the internet and write increasingly idiotic things in order to justify your choice.
But having said that, lol at 'LOOK AT ALL THE GAMES FOR FREE' you're just renting them you silly pauper, get a proper job so you can actually afford to buy physical copies of games instead of renting them.
That would be quite stupid. Why would anyone pay full price for those titles that would end up being ignored on your shelf in a years time anyways?I honestly feel sorry for you poor people who can only afford one gaming console and so feel the need to take to the internet and write increasingly idiotic things in order to justify your choice.

Obviously they will require + to work. You can check how much time is left by triangle -> information on the game. You do get to keep the themes, avatars and the games you bought with PS+exclusive discount.I have a question on PS+ when you download these free games and your subscription runs out do they still work or does it always need + to work?
lulmont
Glad to see PS+ finally has some games worth downloading included in the free stuff for the month. Now I just need to sort out if I want to pay $50 for a year to play some games I've already beaten. Still a good deal if you already have Plus.
Damn..that is pretty sweet. I'm thinking of canceling my Gold membership. Is that wise?ispeakfact
you eat welch's jelly?
Some PS+ free games are kept permanently; they just aren't advertised that way. You won't know which games are permanent until you download them and check the expiration date.
consider this:
You earned your $50 annual investment back in only one month! And this is before the PSN+ discounts on paid games that you keep even after your PSN+ subscription expires.
Oh I'm not saying it's not a great deal, it is. but I have a 60gb PS3 with the 60gb HDD and only 5gb left atm before I sign up for PSN+ I'd want to upgrade my HDD.consider this:
- 1 year of PSN+ costs $50
- In june alone, you're getting TWO FREE $30 GAMES (infamous 2 and little big planet 2) and a load of other games. This happens every month; in july, you'll get another batch of free games. In august, another batch.
You earned your $50 annual investment back in only one month! And this is before the PSN+ discounts on paid games that you keep even after your PSN+ subscription expires.

That might be the case, but one should never say that "all" of the games you get from psn plus are free. You have to pay to get the service. While paying isn't a complaint from me, (it's less than the price of a game) it's the people that say this stuff is free. Paying doesn't equal free. The games are given out as part of the service, and so they can convince you to keep the service. I've only noticed that Hard Corps: Uprising has no expiration date, can anyone else confirm any others? Some PS+ free games are kept permanently; they just aren't advertised that way. You won't know which games are permanent until you download them and check the expiration date.
