[QUOTE="Nitrous2O"][QUOTE="Nagidar"]Would you rather play the low grade version of a game or wait a few months for the superior version?Senor_Kami
Easy. I wait :)
PC games tend to have more longevity, but don't most gamers in general have plenty to keep them occupied with anyway, there's no need to immediately run out and get a new game?
However, pro-consolers can pounce on this one if they wish --- waiting is not unlimited and needs to be within reason (Halo 2 was unreasonable IMO).
Welcome to console gaming circa Feb 2008. For consoles to suck and for our games to be a "dumbed down" experience, getting a console game on PC sure gives you guys one helluva hard on.
lol! You guys crack me up, consoles ended up with the low end version, deal with it, like I said, I would rather wait a few months and get the superior version, if you can't, thats fine, if you would rather have the inferior version its ok, I understand.
[QUOTE="osan0"]i very much doubt that this going to sell very well on the PC. although playing it on a PC with a controller would be fine, its just not the right type of game for a PC really. i hope im wrong mind and that they do well (great to see a japanese dev actually spend some time on a PC game) but i just suspect that sales will fall flat on their face. its a late port of a genre not usually associated with the PC.
in saying that, as i said above, its great to see that capcom are actually putting effort in (unlike a certain RE4 port) and the technology seems to sing on the PC. id love to see capcom take a shot at a more PC centric title. Sega have already done it (well they bought the creative assembly) and have had great success with it. and the one thing PCs lack is japanese dev backing. i hope, if DMC4 fails, that they dont just decide to ignore the PC again based on that. as a PC gamer, id love to see something a bit crazy like no more heros or zack and wiki or okami...or something new...on the PC and built for the PC.

there's absolutely no reason why the mouse shouldn't perform the best for a third person camera, if it doesn't than it's a lame port. If they are truly working on this title and adding better graphics, they had better make sure the periphials of choice, the mouse and keyboard, are fully functioning, fluid, and fully mappable, like all great PC games. If it isn't, expect poor sales, like it deserves.
in DMC, the camera is fixed from what ive played anyway (various demos in the series). the mouse wont offer any advantage in camera there. also its essentially a button masher (there is strategy too it in case anyone wants to pounce on that comment). theres no targeting like in, say, splinter cell. so the mosue isnt really going to help much...and with its lack of buttons, it could be a hinderence really. playing it on a keyboard would also be a right pain.
the game, to all intents and purposes, is a beat em up. it has some gun play (though no manual targeting) but its mostly about kicking seven shades of crap out of enemies in some cool ways with a big sword.
so unless they have given the game a complete overhaul from even a gameplay perspective, its not going to really suit a keyboard and mouse.
put it this way, its nothing like RE4 in terms of gameplay...completly different games.
I beat it on Xbox.. I'll get it again on PC, As for people talking about waiting.. well we still have our exclusives and are gettings extra from you guys.. not a really big deal for us to wait on it especially when we are getting the better version. Ah well.... before the extra flamers... let me go back playing fallout 2!jangojay
Better version to SOME. Hermits keep forgeting that not every PC out there will play a game better than on a console..

The version itself is superior. It doesn't matter what the rig is.[QUOTE="xsubtownerx"][QUOTE="jangojay"]I beat it on Xbox.. Sure is, everyone has top of the line systems...Egghead360Whether or not you have a rig that can run the game, the version itself, as in the actual game, is superior.
What are you talking about? The version is only better if played at recomended settings. You think a fine hermit like yourself would know this.xsubtownerxIt doesn't matter who or what is running it. Out of the box, ceteris paribus, the PC version is superior.

Right. So I get a copy of the game for PC and my 360. My PC has a hard time running the game on min settings, you're telling me that out of the box the PC version is still better? It's POTENTIALLY BETTER, but it isn't better for everyone. Sorry.

While still in the box, the PC version of the game is superior. It has more content, the ability to provide better graphics, etc. Out of the box, the PC version is superior.

Exactly.

Completely false. Here's the major difference between console games and PC games. PC games are only as good as the rig. Saying your PC game is better than my console game just because it's "potentially" better doesn't make it so. If you can't make it run better, it isn't better.

No, you don't get it, putting the rig aside, the game on PC has more options, more content ect. Take your fanboy/fangirl goggles off for a second and comprehend what hes trying to say. Besides, any PC gamer that plans to get this game is going to have a rig that can play it at least decently.

There are far too many things you have to take into consideration if you start talking about individual set ups. I could be playing my console games on 10X10 mono sound DVD player screens. You can't take into consideration all the unique set ups, so you have to have a fair comparison. Thats why we use ceteris paribus. All things considered equal, the PC version IS superior
lol,at pc getting the game months later just like GTA4.killzowned24
And then? Does that make the game less good?
I'd rather have the ever so slightly inferior version of the game several months early rather than having to wait for the definitive version.james28893
This version is not "slightly" superior, from what I've read, it completely TRUMPS the console counterpart.

So you rather pay full price for something less?

lol at the PC version PWNING the console version.
in this case very much so...
not in the case of sales...
Which of course is the best way to determine how awesome a game is.

Oh, I'm not doubting the later released version of the game will be better, it's just that I would prefer to have it as early as I can.[QUOTE="Pangster007"]Nice. I should be able to near-max this at 1920 x 1200. :Dfenwickhotmail
Congratulations?
120 FPS will be sweet but i didnt enjoy the 360 version at all
Most flat panels only refresh at 60hz, so even if it runs at 120fps you won't be looking at that many fps in reality.

Where are the twin screens?Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that the highly anticipated PC version of Devil May Cry 4 is ready for release this summer. Devil May Cry 4 is already a certifiable hit in the console world, having shipped over two million units worldwide since its European release in February. A demo of the game will be released for PC players before the retail version ships, allowing PC gamers to try the game ahead of time as well as testing their system's prowess with the included benchmark mode. The PC version of Devil May Cry 4 will feature new modes, enhanced graphics options and some additional content. Devil May Cry 4 has been rated 16+ by PEGI.
Good things come to those who wait as PC owners will benefit from having more modes and more visual customisation options to help enhance their demon-slaying action. Turbo mode will turn up the action to insane speeds, while Legendary Dark Knight Mode will harness advanced PC processing power and fill the screen with an unbelievable number of enemies for extra difficulty. Moreover, familiar enemies from the console versions will show-up in new locations in the PC version. The high resolution screen settings allow the cut scenes of the game to run at up to 120 frames per second (up from 30 frames per second in the console version of the game). Slider options are available to manage various visual effects seen throughout the game. Devil May Cry 4 for the PC will have both DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 modes and will also be compliant with the Games For Windows program.according to b3d
