It's already stated that it isn't the best that the PC has to offer.
Furthermore, the graphics on the PC > 360, so if we use your lame $400 excuse, how can you justify buying a next gen console outside of the Wii?
My point is, the difference is minimal and you know it. Also, the console life cycle is a lot longer than a graphics card's life cycle so that arguement is out of the picture.

Company of Heroes:OP, Supreme Commander, STALKER, World in Conflict, Quake Wars just to name a few that came out this year.........
Next year we have big titles like Dragon Age, SC2, Far Cry 2, Empire TW, and many others. Probably the best lineup of 2008. The only other lineup that can compete is the PS3's.

The justification for spending "$400" on a graphics card isn't better graphics; its better graphics, better performance, higher resolutions, and the ability to play games on my PC.

First lets overlook the horrible logical problem of Hermits both having no work to go to, yet simultaneously managing to pay for a habit which is apparently so much more expensive.

Basically, Hermits suck because people break their cardinal rule: DON'T BUY A PRE BUILT PC".
My post was about how your cardinal rule excludes too many people. People who don't want to build a computer, don't want to learn to build a computer or don't want to risk buying all kinds of stuff and having it not work, struggling to get games to run, etc... can't be PC gamers without a ton of dough, you are admitting this yourselves by having this rule. You know what the cardinal rule for sheep is? Know how to use RCA cables. Easy peasy. When they sell gaming computers pre-made for this magical $800 figure people throw around and can guarantee that it'll run games for the next 5 years, then you can talk to me about how great it is.

1. PC does have the best graphics. Graphics are a technical specification. Visually on the other hand is purely up to your own judgement.
2. PC does have the most highest rated games.
People shouldn't have a problem when fanboys say this because its pointless when preference is mentioned.
To counterpoint the above..The PC also has THE worst games(Super Columbine Massacre) with THE worst graphics(Big Rigs).

This anecdote that has gotten you so riled up occured on System Wars right? So anybody who posts here obviously isn't excluded from the rule, since they are obviously interested in gaming, have a fair amount of free time and have access to a large bank of knowledge.
If your at that level of expertise in gaming and you buy a pre-built PC, you deserve the ridicule.
If people want to game on a PC, then they should probably learn a little about it. That's the bottom line. Buying a pre-built PC for gaming is stupid, and people who do it expecting a gaming rig have done something they would have been advised against with a simple Google search, or heading over to the GS PC forums.

PC doesn't get the Burnout Series, Forza Series, Gran Turismo Series, PGR Series, or Mario Kart Series. That right there alone makes consoles better for racing games

nobody is saying that...its an undisputable fact however...that at this point, barring some serious problems...the PC version of a game will always look better...thats a given at this point.
BTW: STALKER can be made to look better than just about any game, through a graphical mod that was released recently for it.

...when it comes to graphics and pc games. They like you to believe that pc games graphics are soooooo above that it's worth spending $400 on a graphics card or something. When CoD4 demo and UT3 demo came out, the graphics seemed to be underwhelming for both games. You know what their excuse was? "It's a demo and the max settings aren't available." Not only did they say about that when the CoD4 demo came out, they also said that about the UT3 demo. This anecdote that has gotten you so riled up occured on System Wars right? So anybody who posts here obviously isn't excluded from the rule, since they are obviously interested in gaming, have a fair amount of free time and have access to a large bank of knowledge.
If your at that level of expertise in gaming and you buy a pre-built PC, you deserve the ridicule.
If people want to game on a PC, then they should probably learn a little about it. That's the bottom line. Buying a pre-built PC for gaming is stupid, and people who do it expecting a gaming rig have done something they would have been advised against with a simple Google search, or heading over to the GS PC forums.

The reason I said that is because I asked you to name pc games that truely truely standout graphically and I assumed you put STALKER in that list because you think it looks miles a head than any other console game. For $400 bucks you can get two Radeon 3870 cards for crossfire mode. The cards of course cost $200 each with performance close to the Gefore 8800gt. Not a bad deal at all. Actually its a steal.
