It's basically impossible to kill an open platform. That's why PC gaming has endured over the years when dozens of consoles haven't. There is always a demand for an open platform and so, there will always be games available to it. If I had to guess which platform would cease to exist, my bet would be Playstation. Financially Sony's been going steadily downhill since the 80s..They look quite worse from what I saw of them.[QUOTE="mitu123"]

Am I supposed to be impressed by a PC running console games at 1080p? Sorry if I play games for gameplay and not graphics, scrub. Show me some screenshots of your Dota 2 profile. Not sure if I really "qualify" as a PC gamer as I still play consoles and handhelds a lot but yeah, I'm pretty excited about the PS4. Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XV, Metal Gear Solid 5 and whatever else Japan throws at the PS4. Not to mention playing with friends on games like The Division.
People continue to talk about hardware and power but it's not showing in the PC games. 1080P/60FPS is nice but that still doesn't take high-end hardware for the multiplats. All of my favorite PC games have been indies or MMO/MOBAs, games that any laptop can play. The hardware talk is irrelevant when there are very few games that push it on PC. It's not just consoles holding back PC hardware, it's PC gamers themselves. The jump to next gen will be nice for a bit but the consoles will be capped relatively quickly and then we'll be back to blaming them for holding back PC games.

ah no  Guess you didn;t know even graphically intensive games can be run on lower end hardware that why we have so called setting multiplat or not

Yea we are really holding back pc hardware:roll: Could you please elaborate on this some more? And yep 1080p/60fps has become a big deal here on SW especially with lems and cows.
I game probably 80% PC - 20% PS3, but I do enjoy a good console and have a decent PS3 game collection.
So yea, I am definately looking foward to PS4 coming. Shit, I may even get an Xbone sometime down the line. Both machines will be mainly for exclusives as I would have to be a fool to not play the PC for the multiplats and it's own exclusive games.
If you are gaming on only one platform these days you really will be missing out on some great times.

Not yet. Considering their prices each of them will need at least 8 games I really want before I buy them. So far neither Xbox One nor PS4 gathered enough of annoucemnts of such titles. I will propably get PlayStation 4 first, but I expect it will be 2015 before it has enough games to mke it worthwhile purchase.

Yea when SW is filled with thread over the PS4 and Xbox one hardware and power. Assuming you can;t be a pc gamer even when you play console a lot I mean I know a certain cow who calls himself a PC gamer
PS4, but neither excites me and I find myself feeling less interested in the consoles which feel increasingly like watered down PCs now days. As a result they feel almost redundant at this point which makes it harder for me to justify to myself buying one. However there are still some games I prefer to play on console and the obvious console exclusives. In terms of hardware, online services, etc. they're really underwhelming.Â

Might as well wait a a year or two
I just finished building, for now, a new computer. I'm not looking to spend too much money on anything for awhile. With that being said, depending on what games come out for them that aren't on PC, I may break down and buy one. At the moment, however, I'm not very excited about either console.Â
No, my PC already does it all these new systems are about, and both launch line-ups look unremarkable.
Out of all the announced titles, I'm interested only in Quantum Break on X1, and inFamous SS on the PS4, but neither are launch titles, and there's a good chance Quantum Break will show up on the PC eventually.

pc  surveyed hardware isnt that impressive compared to upconing consoles. Pretty simpleI'm a tiny bit excited to see how well PS4 streaming will work and if the PS plus offer will be any good.
But I'm not even considering spending any money on them. Not even $100. I'd rather get a Wii U if anything.
Or maybe that Vita TV thing (already have a 3DS) but it needs good games first.
I play PC a little but the library compared to PS4 is different. Some games like BF4 and COD Ghosts I will buy for PC but I'm buying PS4 for exclusives. I'm excited about Driveclub and Killzone Shadowfall as much as I'm excited about Forza 5 for Xbox One. My computer crashes from time to time and with PS4 I will not have to worry about that, I hope. Still don't want to buy the Xbox One until they drop the Kinect or drop the price $100. RimacBugatti
What the hell did you do to the PC that made it crash from time to time?

My PC crashes for a few seconds but then comes back when I play games in full screen (amd display driver stopped responding) and it's impossible to fix . I'm building a new one next year anyway If you have a reliable store near you, it costs like 50 bucks to get it diagnosed and to fix anything that is not overly dramatic. I tried that once with my brothers (ancient) PC and it was worth it. We took his PC apart and could not find the issue. Turns out in our case the CPU cooler wasn't mounted properly (wow).[QUOTE="KungfuKitten"]

Was doing it for 2 months until it died completely ( and the strange think is i could play most games ). If you can get your hands on a spare gpu try it and see if it fixes thinks[QUOTE="KungfuKitten"]

Nope, consoles almost killed strategy games, they have basically killed tactical games, killed off CRPGS, killed off adventure games. Killed off many great developers. Killed FPS (thank god for Shadow Warrior). It's ironic that the things specifically designed for games have become it's worst enemy. It's up to Gaben, linux, indies, steambox and kickstarter to save gaming from this catastrophe gaming has become in the last several years,
Consoles got nothing on this:

Crysis 2 and 3 have console gameplay. They gameplay is designed with consoles in mind. Thus, they suck compared to Crysis and Crysis: Warhead.
Graphics mean shit.
I have less than 15 PS3 games and over 120 PC games.
I won't be bothering with another console for a long time.
