Yeah, but you'll have consolites disagreeing. Depends on your TV aswell. I have played the console version, and it is ugly as sin. I've always criticized the console version for its sh*tty graphics.

I mean, i can play anything, hell, i've throughly enjoyed Might & Magic 3 not that long ago (first time), but the console version of GTA IV is unplayable to be because of the ridiculously ugly visuals.

PC version looks infinitely better, and wen you add a couple of HD textures and ICEnhancer.. well, yeah.

I know that feel, in an open world game, visual appeal is very important, if the game world looks as ugly as crap, chances are, a good part of the immersion is ruined, which in turn damages the overall experience, at least for me. Don't see myself spending too much of a time in a game that is literally an eye-sore...

Now, don't think I have some crazy unreasonable expectations from game visuals, it's just that I want modern games to look eye-pleasing, by good use of either technical or artistical visuals. If they fail on that front, that's a huge issue for me, almost as bad as broken gameplay.

That said, the above part doesn't apply to playing older games, there, I'm not troubled by aged visuals at all, since nothing else can be expected...

I use a tweaked 2.1 with SweetFX and downscaling from 3840x2160.

Don't know about texture pack, I'd like to know too. Packs like "better city textures" just make the textures look stupid.

Star Wars 1313 is next gen and no game at the moment looks that good. Nothing looks as good as the Samaritan demo. So no, PC isn't even a gen ahead. 15strong

Crysis 2 looks better than The Samaritan with MaldoHDv4 texture pack, SweetFX, and downscaled from 2160p.

Yeah, yeah, that is all true in theory. But in motion most of the time I notice no difference. For example, I just played Killzone 3 on my 3D TV and the game looks absolutely awesome.

multiplats look a generation ahead on pc the textures are complete ass on console in comparison to pc.

duke nukem forever actually has some pretty good textures on max settings on pc but on console they look like sh1t

even black ops 2 on pc i could seriously find area's where pc texture dump on console

Even without the mod, the pc version still looks 100x better than that muddy, washed up console version.

pc will always have edge because developers can add textures higher than current video cards can handle like ultra settings on doom3 lol all the cards basically were 256 mb/128 mb at the time and the option says it's for 512 mb vram

I wasn't talking strictly about graphics, I had more in mind that PC exclusive games are just more complex and deep than console games are.

In that sense, they are a few gens ahead of consoles.

pc hardware is easily a generation ahead, but that doesn't matter much because most pc games are console ports. Then you just end up with better textures and higher resolutions and framerates, but those things don't equal a generational leap.

I tried to play the PS3 version a few days ago, and it was more horrifying than any horror game I had ever played before.

And in motion it's even worse because you have to experience the terrible framerate, and watching buildings/objects appear out of thin air, and the blur.........oh god the BLUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cry:
