Not to side with him but on face value the gap between PC gaming and console gaming has been significantly decreased in the past generation. It's not as immediate as it used to be and that gap will continue to close as we continue to push the diminishing returns.

So what if it's running 720p and at 30 fps? 90% of gamers aren't going to care. While they can notice it as they aren't idiots, they just won't care. This is part of the reason we'll see plenty of 720p games at 30fps this gen. You can increase your other assets and making games look better than their predecessors while staying within the confines of the hardware.

Games like Halo 4 and Uncharted 3 are fantastic looking games. Most gamers won't care if Crysis 3 on a SLI machine can run at 1080p at 60 fps with games are looking like those two I mentioned on the consoles.

We don't live in some sort of SWs fantatsy world. Only a small amount of gamers (mainly PC gamers) actaully care about resolution and AA. Most prefer more immediate changes like more stuff on screen and more obvious details.

Fact is there are still many devs who want to release their titles exclusively on PC. Can't say the same about consoles.
