Poor TC, I'm sure you'll make it to the bases some day.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
The PS4/XB1 versions of this game look worse than the PC version at the minimum preset, lol.
Performance sucks... for the unreleased version of the game. There's going to be a day one patch tomorrow that will fix some performance issues. I'm not expecting godlike performance overnight, but this is still the unreleased version we're talking about.
If you read the Neogaf thread a bit further it's actually not quite as bad as it first seems. The TC played with all settings maxed including TXAA which can be very taxing on deferred renderer games like this one, without the Nvidia driver update and without the day 1 patch.
He later stated that it runs in 55-60 fps in Paris while freeroaming on max settings sans TCSS (New Nvidia shadow technology) with FXAA with the new Nvidia driver on his 780 GTX rig.
Lol so a gtx 780 is not enough to keep stable 30fps, lol PC gaming
Like your plastic console toy does it any better.... Also, read the thread next time.
Compared to the hardware and the price yeah consoles does a lot better. When you upgrade your PC for the "superior experience" you dont want play at 20-30fps and have to turn down graphic to 900p...

@Wasdie: Thats not really fair when there are threads about PS4 or X1 saying the same thing. Like the "COD is better on X1 than PS4" thread....the PS4 version looks a little better but the fps slightly jumps from 60 to 50 sometimes.....and everyone was bashing the PS4. So I'm not seeing the difference.
I understand that the PS4 just isn't as capable as a PC...but there have been games that look far better than some others that don't meet the same graphical intesity....and day 1 patches and such can help....so it's not like it can't be done.
All I know is that 30fps locked and a steady performance and STILL good visuals beats a $2000 PC that runs big games like shit.
Sure....the PC version runs 1080p....but if it's going to drop to 20fps and jump all over the place....whats the point of a $2000 PC?
Technically....the version might be better depending on how you look at it....but for price/performance it's not.
A 2000$ PC will run this game at 4k and high settings. If it's a small difference to you compared to 900p and low-medium setting then you are an idiot. Plain and simple.
The PS4/XB1 versions of this game look worse than the PC version at the minimum preset, lol.

I was watching the stream of the German guy playing with a 4790k and 970. He said he maxed out everything at 1080p with anti-aliasing set to FXAA, and you could see he was getting anywhere from 35-50 FPS in Paris. I'm not sure if that's due to streaming but with his build that framerate is unacceptable, especially at 1080p. Again, not sure if he had TCSS enabled, or if streaming heavily cuts FPS, but I really hope the day one patch does some magic.

So we have to include the performance hit that the streaming caused. It looks like to me that this AC game is actually shaping up to run pretty dam well on the PC.
Actually read more posts in that Neogaf topic, he was using TXAAx4 at first, without the official Nvidia driver and thus got shoddy performance. The same guy later said that it runs better for him than Black Flag did. 55-60 fps while freeroaming in Paris with max settings sans PCSS, 1080p, FXAA with a 780 GTX and i7 2600k @3,5 Ghz.
The performance is actually what we should expect when we take the console performance and settings into account. Twice the framerate, higher settings, 45% more pixels on a 780 GTX...
And it looks pretty good:
I lost my fucking shit at all of this.
This is amazing.
Provided you have the insane PC specs to run this, don't mind installing several fans to keep your shizz cooled and don't mind the ridiculous electricity bills, this is indeed pretty damn impressive.
I just hate the fact that you have to spend so much to even get something close to this level of IQ.

Yes. compared to the hardware yes the consoles perform better.

4k is definitely on a whole new level in terms of image quality and a luxury at this point. I can't wait to jump on the 4k train as soon as there's a single GPU that can handle 4k in modern games without problems.
The guy who made the screenshots has SLI 980 GTX btw and gets 30-50 fps in 4k.

But they don't.... 900p, blurry details and stuttery framerates are not the sign of a "better" product.... This game does not run like shit though.... Keep grasping at straws peasant.
So you need a overclocked gtx970 to get 40-50fps with drops to 30fps in 1080p? ok...that 4k resolution feels very far away...

With everything maxed out and no day one patch...

They're probably just getting desperate since X1 and PS4 have nothing going for them at all until next year.
and the Ps4 ad xbone get how many fps? unless they get consistently get more your thread is a fail.
FPS....lol no.

Hopefully they do a pre and post day one patch comparison with all systems as well... cause those without internet will be stuck with the pre-patch and I can't imagine how horrible that could be for the consoles.

Even then the PC version is well above what the consoles are achieving.
4k can be achieved right now if you have the money to spend. Of course it's a luxury at this point, getting the latest and best tech is always expensive.
On the other hand if you want to experience it on consoles you have to wait 6-7 years if not more, depending on if the next gen consoles can actually hit that target.

maxed detail in 1080p? that should be considered "low settings" for PC.

These consoles can't even manage 1080p in most games. Maybe next gen MS and Sony can shoot for 1080p/60 as a minimum, that should be achievable by consoles in 6 or 7 years!

I don't think 60fps will ever be standard on consoles. This is the 3rd gen now that's been front loaded with some 60fps games. Devs always push for fidelity and scale while performance falls to the wayside as the gen rolls on.
I don't doubt that 1080p will be standard next gen (lol), but I think 30fps will always be the console baseline.

I still find it shady as hell a 970 backed with a whooping i7 would be pulling framerates in the 40's. I doubt the patch will miraculously bump it up to solid 50's or 60's of fps. Because it apparently didn't fix the framerate on the console versions.
It all just reeks of insanely bad optimization.
The fact the "required" spec recommendation is so high in the first place, just pretty much cements that.

FC 2 and 3 are well optimized so there should have never been any worry about 4.

Show me a prebuilt pc for $350 that has enough power to run every multiplat for the next 5 years which also includes Unity and Black Flag.
I expect to be running the game at 1440p and 60 fps+ The game is CPU heavy so saying a "i7 and a 970" are struggling isn't saying much. Which i7? A 970 or a 5930? There is a big difference there. And I'm sure when the drivers drop tomorrow things will get a bit better GPU wise.

Totally irrelevant and pointless endeavor. You get what you pay for. Simple as that. While the PC can stay updated and perform great with the latest and greatest tech, console performance and visuals will only stagnate/degrade from here.
So, yeah.....have fun with that. For at least 5 more years.....

I will admit though that I don't think the game looks anywhere near good enough to justify its performance. The characters have a weird blurriness to them even on PC maxed out, the hair is utter shit, and the geometry in many areas is pretty subpar. Granted it is an open world game and all, but I still think it doesn't looks all that good. Not that I give a shit--AssCreed is one of the worst franchises around and I am sure this'll be more of the same.

In a couple years console games will look better than they do now.
CoD 2 was 720p yet the later CoD's that ran at lower res look better.
