I think the best is the PC
Which one do you think it's the best?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
i guess i have to say 360 since thats where i buy most my multiplats, even at the cost of reduced graphics.
This is'nt really a competetion.
Filthybastrd
well of course not. the poll is essentially xbox fanboys vs wii, ps3 and pc fanboys combined.

Indeed. Furthermore, the 360 has a tiny amount of exclusives in comparison to the PC and it does everything worse.
Only advantage it has is the "steep" learning curve of the PC, which more often than not is a result of people being completely unwilling to even read the messages your PC gives you.

I certainly beg to differ that the 360 does everything worse than the PC.... but you are entitled to your opinion.
and what are these messages people are unwilling to read?
The only latest exclusive fps pc has is crysis. That game had a horrible campaign and it is 3 years old now.
I don't get what the point of this thread is. Everyone knows PC is better than every single console, even fanboys have to realise this.
coreybg
Exept pc has pretty much no new exlusives. So consoles it is.

Apparently, average Joe has a hard time even installing games, which is more a less a matter of clicking "yes" the entire way. Most people don't even know how to install windows even though it's 90% automated and it tell's you what to do the last 10% of it....
What I meant is, that when people think PC's are "hard" to use, it's more often than not, a matter of reading comprehension.
Lol! I suggest you do some browsing before you say something like that. Or just search for some PC bashing topics and click the links, I remember there was 1 with exclusives.
coreybg
I don't realy care. I don't care about rts games and crap all I care about is generas like shooters and RPGs. The pc fails horribly when it comes to new exlusives. I would know, I own a $1200 computer with a $300 24 inch monitor. Crysis is the latest pc exclusive fps. PC has better graphics, better controls, and way more features, but I feel xbox live is more sociable, and the community is alot better. The consoles sometimes triumphs over pc in the online department, like for eg MW2 not getting dedicated servers for pc. So console gamers are not getting the table scraps in every situation. I have been a pc gamer every since I could remember, but I like 360 more.
There should be a stick about PC. The sticky should contain links to all the massive discussions which were done, dealt, evidence provided and fanboys crushed, concerning specific areas of: graphics, exclusives, modding, price and stability. The only argument that is somewhat 50/50 is pricing at the moment. The others all eventually resulted in crushed console fanboys.GhoX
You don't even need modding once you get halo reach. The customisable options are pretty much endless. PC obviously looses in price, and stability is debatable, my pc broke down numerous times, and my 360 only broke once about 2 years ago. The pc may have loads of exclusives, but the majority of them just don't appeal to me.

Do you realise it costs $300 just for a windows disk? Plus it takes several hours to install.

 Shows how much you know about pricing. :PUsually when i install windows, it estimates an install time of about an hour which translates into 20-30 minutes.
Guess I should'nt feed him.
My PC is better than my brothers 360 but my 360 is better than my mother PC and her PC is better than my dad PC.

Cool. I didn't know that I can mod Alan Wake once Halo Reach's customisation options are out. /sarcasm Those aren't even comparable. Not nearly. The ability to mod completely crushes some puny customisation options. Please refer to specific threads concerning the other arguments. In short though: 99.8% of PC problems are caused by the user. These guys disagree. Hey, they are sitting on sofa and floor even!ADD: Hah, caught your ninja-edit.
As for split-screen - why would you want split screen when you can easily get a screen of your own? :P
Extremely old PC games used to have split-screens, but once people start to be able to buy their own computers/laptops, modern PC games no longer contain it. I mean, no PC gamer would want to play in split screen anyway.

Theres likely a hack and there's nothing stopping you from buying more PCs or at least your friends bringing their own. I have people over my house every now and then and we plan over LAN. We have a blast and I demand a decent FOV. Since when were we talking about split screen anyway?
And then, there's mods...

I didn't say you can mod other games once reach comes out, I said you don't even need to mod with all of the customisable options in reach. Upon further digging, apparently some modern games can have split-screen multiplayer too. Thanks to... *tada* Modding. For example, L4D and UT3 can have split-screen: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8711439#post8711439 http://gearsforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=612551GhoX

That's right! With a bit of knowledge, you could program such things yourself, can you do that on Xbox 360? Well I do have one... I haven't found the ability to do such things with my games. Does anyone else here know the secret of editing and controlling what they want with the files they paid for with an Xbox 360?

Alright, so Halo Reach somehow became the only game on Xbox 360? Your claim was that once Halo Reach is out, you don't need modding! You can sure use some modding with some other games, namely ones like Fallout 3 or Oblivion which are plagued with mods on PC.I'd really want to draw attention to this part: "most of the failures where virus related". That contradicts your claim that "I know heaps about computers btw" to levels unknown to mankind.
Finally, as for those Halo 3 mods, further research reveals that the process is much more complicated compared to the usual console "disk goes in and play" motto. I'm not claiming that it's too difficult, rather it's as difficult if not more compared to installing Windows, installing PC games, or using mods on PC. You also need a PC for 360 modding, and I can say without the slightest doubt that the total number of mods from Fallout 3 alone is larger than all the mods combined from all consoles, including PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, etc.
Lol I KNEW pc people would start going on about LAN. Cos it's clearly much easier to connect a ton of different "gaming" laptops together instead of just playinh on a single console :Plocopatho
You get a lot more in return. Is it THAT hard? Too complex for you? I connected my PC to my network in less than a minute just the other day and I very rarely do such a thing.
Did you know not everyone owns a laptop? So I cant bring any friend over and say "LETS PLUG ALL OF OUR COMPUTERS TOGETHER WITH A BUNCH OF COMPICATED LEADS EVEN THOUGH LAN PLAY BARELY WORKS MOST OF THE TIME AND IT IS REALY BUGGY". I have atempted to play lan a whole bunch of times and most of the time it failed.

I wouldn't really know what to say if that's the case. Of course I'd prefer LAN, the visual quality and FOV comfortability is unmatched by low detailed split-screens limited to 4 players only. Did you know not everyone owns an Xbox either? The assumption is that the things we are comparing... people do own them and can use them. Why don't we just compare particles of air? I don't own any laptops... I connect desktops. Laptops are hopeless in my opinion.
Dude, even setting up an Xbox 360 is more difficult and problematic than that and that's damn easy.
EDIT: apparently one cable is "COMPLICATED" to you.
Simple answer: you are doing it wrong. Long answer: due to your insufficient knowledge of basic computer skills, along with a certain arrogance which makes yourself believe that you have sufficient skills (as shown by your "skill" with virus problems), your attempt to play LAN a whole bunch of times consequently failed most of the time.Did you know not everyone owns a laptop? I never claimed that you don't need modding once reach came out. Learn to read. So just because a virus got onto my computer I suddenly know nothing about computers? Your logic is amazing. I have gotten heaps of mods on Halo 3, other people just sent it to me though xbox live. Installing windows is easy as pie, it is just realy time consuming. And so what if fallout 3 has more mods? It doesn't prove anything.

Actualy it was my dad who is a COMPUTER ENGINEER who put together the lan. He said it was a problem with the software or something. The computers just didn't show up on lan for some reason... Then after an hour of mucking around with all that stupid pc crap it finaly was working. Repeat the next 10 times and tada, you have a pc lan party. Or I can just have a 360 and plug in my controller and play my 360 exclusives that the pc exclusives are no where near. The last fps exclusive for pc was crysis ffs.
