People are insane these days. Selling a 360 for a ps3? WTF?

The 360 has easily the best library on the market today. It has more and better titles thent he ps3 and wii combined. Not from my opinion but from reviews all over the industry. I just dont' get the logic of selling a 360 that has tons of good games for a ps3 that has maybe 5 good games. Just ridiculous and idiotic. I bet most of those threads are made up but if they are true I guess fanboyism runs deep in the blood.

Having said that...last gen there were tons of posts from people saying they got rid of their PS2 for the Xbox. And I would wager that the massive gap between the PS2 and Xbox game libraries dwarfs the gap in the 360 vs PS3 libraries.

I just bought a 360 not because of the libary but because of my friends. If I wanted to play online games with them then I had to get a 360. Other wise I would have got a PS3. IMO the 360 games that are coming out next year don't look as good has the PS3's or the Wii's.

I thought it was clear, but apparantly I have to overimsplify for some people.

To this day, the PS2 has the largest, broadest and most diverse game library of any console ever. Yet people were willing to overlook that and trade it in to get an Xbox. So if people were willing to overlook the PS2's library...why is it so hard to believe some people would overlook the 360's library?

Even thought there are better games coming out for the PS3 then the 360 next year. People don't normally buy systems based on what coming out but rather what is already out. When games lke GOW3 and MGS4 come out they will sell the systems. But not really before.

I call this into question. Just because systems have a sales spike when a certain game comes out, this is more the exception than the rule. HOw many system selling games are there for each console, honestly? One? Maybe two that truly create a noticeable sales spike?

THe overwhelming majority of sales are made based purely on brand and perception. So yes, many people DO buy consoles based on what WILL come out.

You pay best buy $50 and you have a 2 year hassle free warranty of the 360. Every game you guys mentioned on the ps3 the 360 has the equivalent and much better. Fanboys

How is this a lame argument. Two of my favourite franchises are GT and FF. When I decided to buy a next gen console this was one of the main reasons it was a PS3 I bought. I think a lot of other people are thinking along the same lines there. So it's safe to assume lots of people are going to choose a PS3 for this. How is this lame?

The new model has reduced the problems a LOT. Never had ANY problem with the 360 myself.

You miss my point.Replacing it quicklyis the least M$ could do after admittedly selling you a product that will most likely fail within a year now isn't it? My point is that the fact that there's a necessity for this service is in itself the problem. A product that you pay a couple of hundred bucks for shouldn't have such a high failrate, period. Nothing anyone can say or do can justify this.

The Sony customer service sucks is what I've heard. Thishowever matters much lessif your products rarely break.

Hate to split hairs...but just because MS will fix it with the warranty, doesn't mean if I buy a 360 it won't break on me. It may possible break more than once. Would you buy a car that you know could potentially break down numerous times, just because it comes with a 3 year no-questions warranty?

The average Joe doesn't care about the warranty. They just want a console that will work and NOT break down on them. It is the breaking down part that bugs people.

So I would say that while you are right about cows being burned over the warranty, lemmings are just as burned, if not moreso, over a chronic hardware failure they constantly want to deny exists.

You miss my point.Replacing it quicklyis the least M$ could do after admittedly selling you a product that will most likely fail within a year now isn't it? My point is that the fact that there's a necessity for this service is in itself the problem. A product that you pay a couple of hundred bucks for shouldn't have such a high failrate, period. Nothing anyone can say or do can justify this.

The Sony customer service sucks is what I've heard. Thishowever matters much lessif your products rarely break.

As for the failrate, you're right it shouldn't be so high and its a disgrace but at least MS are doing something about it.

I don't know about the probles with the PS2 you're referring to, but I'm glad we agree again ;)
