A great tragedy for humanity if a developer such as Obsidian died.
It's Obsidian, so the game's almost certain to be buggy at launch. 7
Except there last two games have been near bug free and have been there most polished games yet (DS3 and South Park). And not to mention the early youtube videos and website articles are saying its not to buggy so far.
First review is up. IGN Russia just gave it a 10/10.
Not a bad start - and I doubt it'll be the only 10/10 this game gets.
PC Gamer gave is a 92/100.
Rock Paper Shotgun called it "a triumph. A wonderful, enormous and spellbinding RPG, gloriously created in the image of BioWare’s Infinity classics, but distinctly its own. A classic in every sense."

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah.
90 MC incoming
Eurogamer: "Pillars of Eternity is the Baldur's Gate 3 we never got, returning to the Infinity Engine style of role-playing with flair."
Videogamer.com aren't willing to put a score up yet, since they're only 26 hours into it, but they said: "Its quality is undeniable, and it’s particularly heartening to see Obsidian, the underdog RPG studio with a string of thrown-bones and rough diamonds behind it, pour its sweat and passion into something they obviously love – and utterly nail it."

"Only" 26 hours into it. ;)
Don't know if this has been posted yet, but here you go.
Nope no one posted that video so its all good. Reviewers seems to be enjoying the game a lot.
PC World aren't giving it a score, since after 35 hours they've only hit the end of Act Two.
Still, they said: "Obsidian has a reputation for crafting fantastic RPGs, and deservedly so. Pillars of Eternity is, as far as I'm concerned, Obsidian at its best ever."
What time does this release? Need to get it preloaded!
The Steam store pages says 3 hours from now. So...maybe then, but it's rarely 100% accurate.

Yeah, it's 1am here, so I'll probably sleep soon and play it first thing tomorrow.

9/10
There literally isn't much of a con for this game.
GameInformer won't score it yet, because they haven't finished it either.
What's up with gaming journalists lately? How could they not clear the week for the month's biggest RPG?
Oh, meanwhile, they said: "In short, I’m loving the game so far, and have every reason to believe Obsidian’s ambition and enthusiasm for the genre will make this one of the deepest and most engaging role-playing games of 2015."
Also, a site called Game Rant gave it a 4.5/5. So that's fun too.
Wow the game is long even reviewers can't finish it. And don't seem to care since they are really enjoying it.
PCgamesN – 10/10
"This is not the Baldur’s Gate of 2015, it’s Baldur’s Gate, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, the best parts of the lot of them wrapped up in something new and brilliant. And before you venture forth, don’t forget to gather your party."
It's great to see that, across all of these reviews, bugs are barely mentioned (if at all).
So that's three well-polished Obsidian releases in a row. Can we finally drop the "they make broken games" stigma?
Kotaku can't review it - only 25 hours in, yada yada - but they did post this: http://kotaku.com/if-you-like-rpgs-you-must-play-pillars-of-eternity-1693809270
"Are you a fan of old Infinity Engine games like Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate? You should play Pillars of Eternity.
Are you a fan of RPGs at all? You should play Pillars of Eternity.
Do you like exploring a fascinating brand new fantasy world with its own lore and history? You should play Pillars of Eternity.
Do you like interesting, flawed character companions? You should play Pillars of Eternity.
Do you like questing, adventuring, and romping around having a grand ol' time? You should play Pillars of Eternity.
Do you like video games? You should play Pillars of Eternity.
Well…
Do you hate reading? You probably shouldn't play Pillars of Eternity."
Holy sh*t, those review scores so far are insane. You should update the title to "Reviews are in", so more people can have a discussion here. That said, I'm surprised by PCGamer's score. They normally don't prefer games like these.
Voting AA for GS hype.
Looks AAA.
Would love to see AAAA for the tears and excuses. "hermits spending $5,000 to play 90's games!", blah, blah... would be fun.
****, between this game and Bloodborne I'm not gonna have room to breathe for a while.
Pillars now has a 92 score on Metacritic, after nine reviews.
I'm guessing it has to go down from there...but I'm really secretly hoping that it goes up.
*edit* Up to 93!
@Planeforger: PC GAMER gave it 92 I quote " Pillars of Eternity A deep, rich, and wonderfully written RPG that lives up to the towering legacy of the games that inspired it"
Hmm, I can aperrently tell you in one hour :P
But my gut feeling is between AA and AAA.
So I will take AAA as the score. I consistantly seem to score games lower then nearly any living being on this earth, so while My gut say AA, I will just go with AAA for once.
I'd keep an eye out for a Gamespot review...but I have a feeling that Kevin Van Ord will be reviewing this, and he only just got off Bloodborne the other day.
So....GS review this time next week?
Review Scores are coming fast....

92% average on metacritic so far!
100% - PCGamesN = Obsidian had a daunting task before them: to make a spiritual successor to a series of games that are inextricably tangled up in nostalgia, over a decade after the height of those games’ popularity. This is not the Baldur’s Gate of 2015, it’s Baldur’s Gate, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, the best parts of the lot of them wrapped up in something new and brilliant.
100% - The Escapist = It's the best new, isometric RPG to come out in years.
95% - GRYOnline.pl = Obsidian has targeted a very specific audience for this game. It's aimed at someone like me - a fan of Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment. Someone who loves long documents, tactical battles, complex mechanics and stylish graphics. Pillars of Eternity isn't just a tribute - it's definitely more than that. It's a new, unique thing that sometimes surpasses the great cRPGs from the past.
93% - Meristation = An extraordinary master class on how to recover an abandoned style of making RPGs, showing all its strengths. A superb story, plenty of role-pay possibilities and a beautiful trip. Hopefully, just the first stop of it.
Everyeye.it = It's a fantastic return to the roots of RPGing on PC. Incredibly deep, to the point where discovering every outcome of the story will require hundreds of hours. It's fun and engaging to play. Everyone with a sweet tooth for fantasy and roleplay should consider this game, as it's a true masterpiece from Obsidian.
92% - PC Gamer = A deep, rich, and wonderfully written RPG that lives up to the towering legacy of the games that inspired it.
90% - MMORPG.com = Is Pillars of Eternity the perfect game? No, but it is an incredibly good one. When fans backed the Kickstarter to the tune of nearly four million dollars, they did so on the promise of Obsidian returning to their roots; more than that, that they would return we RPG players to our roots. By taking cues from the past, Pillars of Eternity bears lessons for future developers. Accessibility is fine, but players learn to love depth. Cutscenes are important, but less so than a well-crafted story. And the world itself should be the reason to explore, not the experience from the 100th bandit. Pillars isn’t perfect, no, but it may just be a modern classic.
90% - Gamewatcher = All you really need to know though, is this; Pillars of Eternity is a triumph.
80% = Gamer.no
With it its isometric perspective, real time combat system, great focus on roleplaying and a decent chunk of side content, Pillars of Eternity is a giant ball of playable nostalgia. You don't have to have played Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale to get the most out of this gem of a game. It fits just as well for new players as it does for old veterans.
More to come later! GO OBSIDIAN!
Can't believe gamespot has zero articles or videos on the front page for this game, smh.
IGN too. But that was to be expected lol.
And I remember a bioware dev saying baldurs gate type of game doesn't work anymore? Yeah how is that working out for ya. :p

I don't want to fill the title. I'll update the Op with the reviews latter. Gamespot's review doesn't seem like it'll come today, like some others, sadly.
Pillars now has a 92 score on Metacritic, after nine reviews.
I'm guessing it has to go down from there...but I'm really secretly hoping that it goes up.
*edit* Up to 93!
And people didn't believe.

are you going put the meta score in the title or just GS?
@blueeyedcasva: I guess i'll put the MC, if only to grab people's attention to it. You know, it's not a major AAA budget console exclusive with big production values and going for that cinematic experience and all that jazz, so people tend to walk on by.
Atleast both scores can get any lurkers potentially interested. Not only for the sake of the thread, but mainly for the game itself.
D:OS got a huge boost in sales thanks to the great scores. If PoE scores great aswell, letting more people know might help out.
