[QUOTE="WarTornRuston"] Perhaps waiting for it to actually release would be smart before making an ignorant claim. Just a thought. The last Planetside released almost a decade ago? We know the Halo formula. Pretty sad when mods that are a level 70 have joined the troll club. Not really shocked.

Funny, Planetside actually outclasses the majority of FPSs today. The only thing holding it back now is a very dated engine. Mechanics wise, it's a much more rewarding shooter than pretty much everything else on the market.
But, because you pointed out that im a level 70 mod who is just trolling, that obviously makes you superior to me and nobody should listen. Is that what you were getting at?
You never even hear about the game anymore. (The first Planetside) And I already posted why Halo is a better series. Sales, Reviews, The number of people playing it now. But keep hyping something that hasn't even been released yet and saying it is already better than an established series. Why not. Lets all get Mad Cow Disease and just post one ignorant comment after another. Lets go ahead and throw some jelly gifs is as well, do some Microsoft and EA bashing and talk about how Console gamers are broke and are to stupid to play PC games. I will stick with common sense.Man you are really really mad.
Planetside in it's current form is nothing like the game that was reviewed in 2003. It's far more robust with very few of the major issues that plauged the launch. The only reason why it's not heavily played is because it's 10 years old and still a subscription based game.
I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it's the better experiance for competitive multiplayer. Unless you've actually played Planetside recently. Sure it's not more popular, but more popular never makes a game better. The Halo series is bigger yes, but that doesn't mean that it's a better experience.
As for Planetside 2 vs. Halo 4, you haven't actually played Halo 4 either. It's by a new studio and they are taking the series in a different directing of Bungie. So you really have no idea where Halo 4 is headed. Everything I've seen about it (the multiplayer loadouts and armor abilities/perks) is a good indication that it's not going to be the Halo experiance that I am going to enjoy at all. Halo 2 and 3 had it right, Halo Reach really ruined the competitive aspect with broken armor abilities. Now they are adding in things like dedicated sprint, loadouts, and perks and possibly even kill streak rewards.
As for Planetside 2 they are making a lot of great changes to the Planetside formula to update it to be competitive with modern FPSs. However this does mean they are sacrificingsome of the proven mechanics. We'll see how it turns out.
Considering that Halo 4 is such a departure from other Halo games while Planetside 2 is made by the same people who have now built an entire game engine just for the needs of the game AND is on the PC where they are not held back by aged hardware (just look at the videos of Planetside 2, they are beautiful), I think Planetside 2 is going to be the far more enjoyable experience.
Sure you can have a differing opinion, but you cannot just discredit somebody elses opinion because you're bringing in past games that 343 has had absolutely nothing to do with. But but by all means please continue to do so. Without people like you, System Wars would be too boring.
