What a tasteless attack on my country, I used Blizzard games to claim that fame/press coverage isn't everything, certainly don't determine the quality of the game, with that said though, they do have more universal appeal than Halo, so stop thinking Halo is the biggest thing ever, not even bigger than any COD games. It being bigger doesn't mean Planetside cannot be a game of comparable quality.

why not have both? im sure i can enjoy gta (episodes from liberty citty and maybe 5 and not gta4) and saints row at the same time so i guess its possible to enjoy planetside and halo.

well, what we have here, an fps with (60fps, k/m, large fov) VS an fps with (30fps, controller, small fov)

Im all for halo and Planetside 2 doesnt look fun to me, i mean its cool and all you can have like 500 people but really, why the need for it? The gameplay itself just looks generic and just plain boring. Halo 4 does kinda have me worried a bit though, i have a feeling there going to make it more like COD and I loathe the multiplayer in those games mainly because of the streaks and upgrades. But before anyone says anything, this is just my opinion.:P

much like EVE and other such games, these battles you talk of that go past certain volumes are messy, you never really see every one. much like MAG the battles are between individual groups not big oh hey there is player 5 of 7, of 42, or 100 I will kill him.

Planetside isn't like that. The entire game and battlefields are designed for 300+ players. Its pretty common to be besieged with 100+ defending and 100+ attacking a single base. Its crazy and hectic, but you can clearly push and defend properly.

500 vs 500 is impressive, does it have lot's of vehicles too? Grahically Halo 4 isn't really that impressive, sure it looks good but there have been plenty of other games that are far better looking, I don't see why people are hyping it for it's graphics.

Game play wise I wil probably go with Halo 4, it's fun to play with friends. Just hope 343 makes a good campaign, something Bungie forgot how to do. But I'm not getting either, I play Halo at friends house and I don't like PC gaming very much. Also Halo 4 will probably have more features than Planetside will.

I'm more into Killzone and COD. Just my opinion, don't like it? Then too bad. Go take your butt hurt somewhere else

Different games with totally different focus, different strokes for different folks. Might as well say that Planescape Torment outclasses Temple of Elemental Evil. PT is focused on the story aspect, wile Temple is focused on combat, and both excell in these distinct areas.

I will probably never get to play Planetside because I don't have a PC to do it, and the people in real life I do know that do won't share it lol.

Halo might end up being pretty good, who knows? I think it has a chance to win over it, but 500 vs 500 is definatley a plus for PS2.

I totally agree, just look at Unreal Tournament. UT2k4 was the best multiplayer FPS ever made and UT3 became a disaster, just because of what you mentioned.

Planetside to is not as famous like Halo 4 so there probably wont be many people online and that is the main reason why most people even play shooters in the first place.Crunchy_Nuts

Planetside 2 will be amazing, but it wont really be comparable to Halo 4.

They are so different, the only things that really is similar between them is the Sci-Fi, the first person perspective and the fact that you shoot stuff.

Apart from splitscreen mp (lol) there isn't a single aspect of Halo4 that comes close to Planetside2's MP. Its gens ahead, compare it to stuff like BF3 (PC) or other PC FPS.

I agree with this. Halo has proven to be one of the best FPS franchises of all time. We'll have to see how Planetside 2 shapes up after it comes out.
