Platinum Games wants to buy Darksiders

I posted it already in the THQ topic but heh, i feel like making a thread about it so...

Here goes

Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta 2 developer Platinum Games wants to buy the Darksiders IP, which unfortunately didnt make a sale at yesterdays THQ IP and studio auction.

Darksiders seriously didnt sell at THQs studio and bulk IP sale? I want to buy it if it was cheap, said Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba in a tweet.

Following todays announcements, Darksiders franchise lead designer Haydn Dalton tweeted: There was a shimmer on a slither of hope, that at one point, thered be a Darksiders III: 4 Player Co-Op; It rode off into the sunset today.

What do you say, THQ? Can ya slip an IP Platinumsway at a discount price?

Seems like Inaba was just making a jokey tweet. Doubt a company who needs people to publish their games, wants to go out and spend money on an unpopular IP.

It's actually a lot of fun. I've only played the demo though.

I think you guys may be jumping the gun on this. As great as it would be, I thinkInaba's tweet was just an off-hand comment.

From what I resd in revies most of those crazy japanese hack and slash games always seem to get insanely low review scores from western sites.

I wouldn't know since I don't pay much attention to reviews. Also I quite like DW5 Empires, Hokuto Mosou, and Warriors Orochi.

Its ridiclous that a studio that good got shut down, thankfully alot of the Vigil devs on twitter are getting alot of offers from publishers, i hope they all get work.

Don't know about buying out, but I can seeing Platinum Games going 2nd party with a contract with Nintendo after the one with Sega has expired.
