It fell well below my personal expectations. This show was a business deal or something. An appreciation event for all these devs supporting Sony I guess.

The only silver lining to emerge from this turd is that we know the 1st party heavy hitter shit will be revealed at E3. That means Bend, Sucker Punch, and Santa Monica should have that under wraps AAA shit front and center.

I don't even think the footage from FFVII saved this show for me.

Is there a reason why you're calling people who buy a games console 'casual'? I sincerely doubt that all 30 million PS4 sales are all hardcore mature adult gamers. I wouldn't doubt in the least if a large portion of those sales are 'casuals' who were told that all their friends play on PS4. Or bought into Sony's PS4 console power campaign. Or saw a Star Wars Battlefront commercial and bought one on a lark because they love star wars. You really ought to consider this when you're slamming a console.

Not only that why are you even criticizing 'casual' gaming in the first place? Its making as much money as 'hardcore' gaming is on a annual basis. Why do you think Sony was desperate to get displaced Wii owners? Something you better think about is that Sony, MS, or Nintendo would punch out stuff like Wii all the time if it sold like the Wii did. Look at those PSMove controllers if you want an example. I don't blame Nintendo for trying to double dip on Wii. Any company would have done the same thing.

Irrelevant or not, Wii U has awesome exclusives and Nintendo did what they could. I really have no issue with them pushing NX asap. They gave it their best shot and there are still games coming on it. Having said that lets have no more derailing ok? This isn't an anti Nintendo thread. Please feel free to make a new thread.

@bunchanumbers: oh I know casuals are the majority of ps4 owners. I'm just arguing that unlike Nintendo, Sony has the numbers and immense support.

I'm not out to get the casuals, I'm just saying pointing out that the success of Nintendo last Gen was a gimmick that casuals bought into.

Trust me I love Nintendo but I'm not blind like some people here. I call like I see it. Sony did bad today and they deserve to be bashed. Nintendo WiiU failed and they deserve to be bashed. But yeah let's agree to disagree. I think NX unless they do something incredible, it's going to fail like the WiiU. I don't want Nintendo out of the race, I just think that they can't do it. They can prove me wrong anytime they want.

That's a good thing. I'm sick of remakes that only change minor things. I would prefer it if they remade FF6 into a 3D game though.

Kinect might have failed in the games department but it makes a fine user interface input device.

Just watched the show. It was OK. Ace Combat 7, Rachet and Clank, Uncharted 4, Yakuza, NNK 2, Final Fantasy 7 and Ni-Oh looked great. Other stuff wasn't that good (except few games like Hob and stuff). VR section was terrible. I could hear few ladies saying "it's over.... it's finally over" when the show ended, lol. Overall, I think it was OK.

BTW am I the only who think Ni-Oh looks like Japanese version of The Witcher? And it's sad to see Epic wasting those amazing visuals and character models on a damn MOBA. No one cares Epic, you are late to the party.

Sad to see, EA still trying hard to make Battlefront look good and shoving mediocrity down our throats with marketing stunts at PSX and TGA.

So Final Fantasy Remake confirmed for Xbox One at PSX. Bu, bu, but that game won Sony's E3!!! Lulz.

There were some truly horrific sites at that conference... The fact that companies still think dressing someone up like an ass and making them wave their arms around in front of a live audience is entertainment kinda scares me... Have we learned nothing?

It seemed pretty pointless, but it was kind of funny how you could pick one of the three previous games to retell. I doubt dialogue choices will have any story impact, this one was just cosmetic, which is fine (Uncharted is mostly cosmetic to begin with).

There's a mod there that people view as some insider, despite never giving any leaks and just spewing vague information, and they will swear up and down that it's a PS4 exclusive. Wonder how they'll spin the whole "console debut" now.

3D is fine, however, a remake to me is basically giving something a new coat of paint but keeping core elements. Removing the entire basis of the game and inserting a DMC hack and slash combat system is basically removing that RPG feel for me. I loved the first 10 FF games since they were turn based, and I am a big fan of turn based RPG's where you control all your characters and are actually required to make informed decision sometimes on the fly it ATB is enabled.

To me this is a re-envisioning, and not a remake.

I don't consider this a good thing at all... I am sick of all these watered down, dumbed down, games that basically play themselves. Sometimes it is ok, but in the remake of a classic turn based RPG? ... I don't think anyone can hear me shaking my head, but I ensure you I have done my fair amount since realizing this. For fans of action games this could be cool, but long time fans of turn based RPG's? Personally I find this repulsive, and I am a fan of both genres.

Ace Combat 7 and Ni No Kuni II I think. As in significant new games not seen before. Both were horrible, but I think more excitement was raised at PSX.

After reading through the comments I thought this showing would be much worse.

I mean yeah, the cringe was incredibly strong and I'm sure I missed a lot since I just skipped around through the video.

But I also saw a handful of cool looking games that sparked my interest.

@getyeryayasout: I sold my PS4 a few months back, but the last time I connected to PSN was around 2 months after Bloodborn released. I'll buy another one when FFXV comes along, if it doesn't come to PC that is.

It's how all these shows go, including e3. They show cool/new shit in beginning. Bunch of shit in the middle. End with a couple games at the end. Not sure why everyone is surprised.
