There's one feature I miss in Far Cry 3. We were allowed 3 saves. In Far Cry 4, there's only one. Something to keep in mind. Once you finish the game, copy your save files elsewhere before starting another game, just in case. The Shangri La missions gave me some difficulty.

I think if you start a new game, you start everything over. The old save is overwritten. Hence, backing up the original save, just in case.

Cutscenes are still unskippable. It also takes forever to get to the main menu. You might want to create a shortcut from the FC4 executable and add "-skipintro" or do it in Uplay. I prefer the former.

Keep also in mind, you're not safe from animals if you enter a vehicle like in Far Cry 3. They can damage you or even kill you while riding a vehicle. The rhino, especially. Oh. you can also hire an AI buddy once you earn some tokens.

You can also put some vehicles into auto-drive. Obviously, we didn't get away.

Thought as much.Dosen't matter it got NG+ or not. If its not wild and fun, no beleiving in Jun anymore :P

Fun is relative. If you want to play Far Cry 4 like Far Cry 3, you can. If you want to exploit the newer features of Far Cry 4, you can do that too.

I'm trying out Call of Misery. Unfortunately, it turned Call of Chernobyl to more of a simulation which isn't the approach I'm looking for. But, I'll keep trying.

@indzman: I went ahead and bougght nioh like we talked about earlier in this thread. On the first mission after you get out the prison(so like the second). I am two hours in and I have died so many times but I am having so much fun hahaha. The more I die the better gear I get lol

This has been a great gaming holiday. Putzing around STALKER: Call of Misery. I'm starting to like it better as I got acquainted with the controls. Ha Ha! I didn't realize I had to buy a headlamp to be able to have a light at night. ;)

Lots of new stuff to learn.

HaHa enjoy it to the fullest man. PLUS 3 more DLC's ( 3 new Areas + 6 OG areas ).Abyss. New Difficulty Modes which enhance your character and weaponry/armor/accessories further. Prepare to spend 200 Hrs on it minimum :)

Technically, it looked like a mishmash of Nepal and Tibet for the environment populated by Indian NPCs and uh, Royal Thai bad guys. He He.

Personally, I prefer the tropical island environment of Far Cry 3 because the grassy second island is best suited for driving vehicles (among all the Far Cry games). Far Cry 4's trees, grass, and backdrop are much more pleasing to the eye. I wish Ubisoft would remake Far Cry 3 with Far Cry 4's assets and vehicles.

As for the protagonist, I thought you knew about Ajay. I'll bet you'll also enjoy the radio station music. ;)

Yup, NEPAL. Unlocked every skill, every signature weapons after prolouge with cheat engine to mess around lol.

Aw, c'mon. The game is easy enough to not require cheats. Besides, cheats don't help with the unskippable cutscenes.

The Buzzer can be accessed relatively early in the game, making it easy to power up the towers (and get access to better weapons).

Feeling good about putting down a couple of cats. I was reading the onscreen message and the next thing I knew, my character was put down by a chimera. Hmmmm. Perhaps, I should play Call of Misery at something easier than Master. He He. ;)

Deym! I'm not even that far from the ship. Oh, wait. That's right. That area is a prime ambush spot for chimeras.

---Nope. There's only one difficulty level: Miserable.---

I got my revenge. Upon, reloading a save game, the chimera was patrolling around the ship.

It got stuck trying to scale an incline. Some inclines cannot be climbed by mutants or players. I took advantage. ;)

Its fun feeling OP over enemies lol.

Call of Chernobyl with ANR

Playing Wolfenstein on the OG Xbox

I've been trying to find a more advanced detector (Veles or Svarog) than the Bear Detector in Call of Chernobyl. As part of the Ecologist faction, my main base is Yanov Station. I should've checked my personal box there before moving to the Skadovsk in Zaton.

Went I went back to Yanov Station and checked my box, I was surprised to find a Veles detector, a Basic Tool Set, and body armor. I could've saved myself a trip to Agroprom (too many saves and reloads) and lots of moolah if I checked here first. ;)

It was frustrating to see an invisible artifact bouncing by undetected by the Bear Detector.

Made a trip to Cordon to find Nimble and order an exoskeleton as soon as I had the moolah. Now, if only I can find batteries for the gauss rifle. It's easy to get from dead Monolith. But, the ammo for it seems rare. I haven't seen any trader selling batteries.

He He. I wasted 11k RU repairing a gauss rifle only to find out there's no ammo for it aside from those in the magazine.

Today i'm going back into good ol' Skyrim

I had to go back to an earlier save in Call of Chernobyl. No more diplomacy (aka assassination) missions for me. Some parts of The Zone became very hostile after I did one. It's bad enough having Monolith squads running all over Zaton.

Started playing last night. A different game from what I'm used to... and I think that's what I've been looking for. While there is still some first person action, there is more strategy, politics and such as well.

Nailing a sword slash from horseback at a full gallop on some whelp of a soldier is the most satisfying thing in the world.

I'm not sure why some players say the anomalies in Call of Chernobyl are sterile. I'm regularly finding artifacts at both Zaton and Jupiter. The Veles detector even showed one at Rostok. But, there were so many NPCs there one of them got it before I can.

A quick sortie to the Burned Village yielded two Eye artifacts. Beard paid a good price for the two.

Resumed play on Call of Chernobyl. Just got out of the ship to go artifact hunting and was immediately one-shotted by Monolith with silenced sniper rifles. Reloaded the game, left the ship again, and was taken down by rifle grenades, again from Monolith surrounding the ship. On the third try, I went up to the upper deck of the ship, used the binoculars to spot hidden Monolith and proceeded to slowly take down each one. No choice but to do so if I wanted to find artifacts unhindered.

Finally, I was able to visit the Boiler Anomaly and gather a couple of artifacts. But damn. The Monolith with silenced Vintar BC sniper rifles are a pain in the ass. At least, they didn't have RPG-7s like the last time they besieged the ship.

This is (almost) vanilla CoC. I suppose I can install a dynamic faction mod. But, I like my safe areas to chill out in. ;)

I keep coming back to this thread for @jun_aka_pekto daily journal updates. I bought STALKER a while back on a steam sale but never fired it up. Seeking out anomalies looks like fun... and thinking I may need to install this one.

Call of Chernobyl is a standalone mod. That is, you install and play it separately from Call of Pripyat. You just need the latter installed for the first-time run of CoC. After that you can uninstall CoP. It's like getting a free game.

Jazz Jackrabbit. A true nostalgic blast from the past for me, and one of the big titles that truly made me fall in love with gaming. Just released on GoG.com yesterday. Highly recommend it to everyone.

It's funny that I'm addicted to STALKER now because prior to me finishing CoP (last year), I've bad-mouthed my original CD version of CoP and the STALKER franchise in general. It's mainly because of the glitchy and crash-happy engine.

But, CoP has been fairly stable during my last two playthroughs and it looks much better now because of the Absolute Nature mod. My two biggest gripes with the game have been addressed. I wish the same can be done for Call of Chernobyl.
